I would consider them marginally better than the fake group, Amnesty International. I would bow to the knowledge of the Baltics, Poland, Romania, & Bulgaria in how far they want to take this. They know far better than I do. But I might advised them to use caution. There can become little difference in russia & china repressing minorities & what they do.

  9. Considering there could be a conflict in Taiwan makes this a worrisome problem. On the plus side the likelihood of needing the weapon for a European conflict gets smaller. With the very likely reduction in nuclear arms worldwide from this conflict, makes spending for conventional war well worth the investment.

  11. Erdogan will need IMF loans. Unless he starts defaulting on other loans, his only path to these will be to concede on letting Sweden join. There will be other pressures brought to bear. There may also be demands he leave NATO. Although the complications of this are unknown right now. That way he can buy all the decrepit soviet equipment he wants.

  13. I don't think there is enough data to assume we are out of Phase 2. Musk & Scholz are fools. Every time I hear 'Peace at all cost' morons speak I wanna slap some sense into them. Everyone has seen what leaving a Ukrainian population in the hands of russians mean. So anyone proposing negotiations, needs to outline which cities you leave under subjugation. Not every small village, but every city 10,000 population or above. Who do you leave under the rule of 'mad dog' putin? Don't even approach me about the subject until you have a map clearly drawn out & who you are willing to sacrifice. And then be prepared to explain it very carefully to me. We have an opportunity for REAL nuclear arms reduction here. Which means we could reduce our own weapons. There could be some real social change in the warring tribe that is russia. Plus giving China pause for thought about it's own ambitions. Any number of advances could come out of a victory in Ukraine. They would be (and are) doing the world a huge favor at great expense to themselves. And we thank the Ukrainians for this great opportunity by sending them signals from 'fuzzy headed' celebrities like Musk or politicians like Scholz & Macron? Repeating political rhetoric that sounds good but only opens up the possibility for all this to start all over again in 10 years, or when ever russia thinks they need more conquest, is being the real war monger!! So Musk & Scholz are advocating for perpetual war every so often? Why wouldn't russia try again? Look how much land the 'appeasers' gave them this time. Let's get down to brass tacks, Musk names the company he owns that he will sign over to russia to appease them. One of his major companies now. No cheating. Put up or shut up, Musk. And what section of Germany will Sholtz allow russian troops to occupy & hold referendums? You don't want to step on too many russian toes to offend them & give putin a way out.   15. Erdogan is painting his country into a financial corner. There will be a 'deal' struck where Erdogan will welcome both Finland & Sweden into NATO. The military alliance will have to be much more careful who they let in from now on. I wonder if the financial deal could be 'sweetened' a little more where Turkey just bows out of NATO altogether. It might be well worth it.

But wouldn't the staging of the Russian klepto military machine in January & allowing them to invade from Belarus already mean that Lukashenko is at war with Ukraine? Is someone actually trying to make fine distinctions about them being neutral in the conflict? The only reason Ukraine might not be fighting Belarus troops is they are just a bit busy right now.

And it isn't the worst of the crimes they use. But I thought it was interesting to compare it to a petulant child throwing a fit when they don't get their way.   18. So . . . A fake referendum was done in Crimea in 2014 & Russia claimed that territory as Russia. Ukraine has attacked there several times. And we are expected to believe that they would use 'all means' to defend the new 'territories'? Russia will be just as inept with the new territories as it is protecting Crimea.

  19. Imagining Ukraine taking Crimea is more a case of imagining russia's ability to hold it. I think the AFU is a great fighting force but it is a pretty tall order. The russian general in charge of the defense of Crimea seems competent unlike others we have seen. And there would seem to be too many choke points. However there are many inlets & islands north of Crimea to bypass those choke points. My money would be on Ukraine but it might not be so easy as other places.

Everything that happens bad on the Russian side is blamed on careless smoking. There is absolutely no reason to admit the longer range missile are being used.

  26. There seems to be one obvious fact that isn't so obvious & wasn't to me either until you think about it. Why would the Orcs want 150 km more of a front with Ukraine. They are already stretched to thin as it is. But that doesn't mean they didn't blow the dam. Draining the reservoir will give them of a new battle front. They just blew a small portion of the dam hoping it would stay small. But of course flooding washes away dams. So instead of flooding the islands downstream (smart) they actually sent a torrent downstream doing more damage to themselves (typically dumb they do). Now they will have a river & not a wide body of water to hold back the enemy. In about a month of hot weather this will become a nightmare battlefield for them. One that only stupid little putin could have created along with his moron military. Or . . . They don't plan to have the territory soon so whether it is a river or reservoir doesn't really matter.

It means that russians can store ammunition right next to front line(this means they go fast to soldiers) and Ukraine cant blow up it’ Well Max, that would be very intertaining indeed. To watch a HIMARS at either end of those tunnels bury so much ammunition & equipment. With any luck at all it might start a series of explosions to ‘blow it up’. Should be a great show.

Wouldn't it be interesting if instead of invading russia, Ukraine were to be given a 50 km buffer zone around the 2013 borders with a new treaty?   37. In a normal war, I might agree with this video. But from the Ukrainian point of view to leave it's people under Russian control would be unthinkable. To cede land to Russia would only encourage them to invade again in 8 years just like they did 8 years in the past. I also think it is assumed there would be a stalwart defense of contested land by Russia for months. I would say it is just as likely it will crumble in a matter of weeks. To be fair, the Ukrainians may decide after months that they are too war-weary to continue. Even the best military will get to be that way. But the first three reasons I listed I think will give them much greater resolve than in a 'normal war'.

I want Ukraine to do what they think is right. I'm sure inflammatory actions to put some Ukraine soldiers on trial won't help Russia's cause. As it dawns on many Russians they don't have the moral high ground they thought, discontent will grow from within. Russia may be highly motivated to seek a truce right now. Ukraine has no such incentive.

After threats to Poland, The Baltics, Finland, turning the UK to a burning cinder, etc, etc, Is anyone really surprised that Russia has expanding war aims in Ukraine? I heard Lavrov's speech. So . . . If the fortunes of war change (I can hear the Russian trolls squealing like little girls now) and Ukraine rolls up to the Russian border. Should they now consider taking a buffer zone of Russian territory for themselves based on the range of Russian weapons? Someone explain to me how that concept is any different. Except in the fact that it might actually be warranted & 'doable'. If you don't speak Russian, at one point, Lavrov stuttered a bit & said basically he couldn't explain 'logically' why Ukraine was defending itself. A common theme of the whole war that Russians don't understand why they aren't welcomed & let them do whatever they want to do. I think some of them really are perplexed. Plus it was one of the few times truth has crossed Lavrov's lips. LOL!!!

  42. I don't like the man skulking off to China & intimating he wouldn't stand in the way if China invaded Taiwan. I'm not so sure that isn't the truth of most of Europe. Can't fault him for being honest. But he doesn't have to broadcast it to Xi. It was done in a way he couldn't be blamed for directly saying the words. But he dropped plenty of hints. Many countries including the US bought into it. They will still go with it but not with violence. The China of the 80's is not the manically violent China of today. One China never should have been accepted but they saw promise in an emerging China back then. If Taiwan seek independence (which they haven't yet) or violence is used, One China will be dropped like the rotten vestige it probably is with modern China.

  48. Priggy is a thug & a very brutal one at that. If he were to attain the presidency I'm not so sure he would develop into the 'monster to be' most of the others would become. He already is a monster in the eyes of the rest of the world. So naturally almost all sanctions would stay in place even if he were to withdraw completely from Ukraine. He is the type of strong man the russians seem to favor. Realistically, I don't think he has a prayer. Time will tell. Anybody replacing stupid little putin would be an improvement.
