@stevekreitler9349 Machinests are always Nerds. Just like engineers. A badge we wear proudly!

red9man2130 In most states in America..you can carry just about any sort of knife you wish. Automatic knives are an exception, but even those laws are changing. Dont forget..America is made up of 50 different political bodies, "Federal Law" has little to do with knives and clubs and so forth. In many states one can carry a 12" long hunting knife on ones hip (openly) if one wishes. Switch Blades (automatic knives) are totally legal in many others. I carry daily (3) pocket knives, all of which are within Californias (restrictive) law..and each has blade lengths shorter than 3.75 inches (9.5 centimeters) which is the legal limit for a concealed knife (in my pockets) here in California..which again..is a restrictive state. On the other hand..I have over 100 firearms, including 20+ handguns. And carry concealed daily and have done so for 32 yrs..in California...again..a restrictive state. The only permit I need...is my concealed weapons permit..so the government has no clue what arms I own..and its none of their business. Many states have removed the requrement from having a CCW to carry a concealed weapon..and more states are following this. Carry any side arm one wishes in any fashion one wishes. So even (most) we are freer than Sweden. But they have the government they want. Shrug..each to their own. I do love my Swedish Mausers though!! I have more than 6 of them. Still looking for the really short carbine to add to the collection..

@TheDiameter You left out Rhodesia...
3
@kennkid9912 What.. you havent been stocked up? Not even a spare tomahawk? The United Cutlery M48s are actually pretty decent.
3
@uguman m39s woul not leave the Finn factory unless they shot 5 rds under 1". Mosins average 3-4" at the same distance. There are exceptions..but few of either. Shrug. Toivols rifle killed a lot of Russians. The other 2 were built in 43.. so I cannot say. They both have taken many head shots on coyotes out to 200+ meters. All three are bone stock with iron sights.
3
Lavrentivs Yes it can. However..the Founders had a defination that they went with and changing the definition to suit your world view is still..wrong. You do know that "well regulated militia" simply means well trained, in proper working order, citizens, right? Need the cites? Id be happy to quote from the 1789 dictionary. Should I?

@found6393 I met him at Perry in 72.
2
iwhdbid josksjbx huh? He put the cross hairs on the enemy...calculated drop of the bullet and squeezed the trigger. Just like any other scope. Or did I miss something in your question?
2
Thats just sad. I live in California and own well over 50 guns...(grin)...well over...really well over. And Ive had a CCW for 32 yrs. California gets a bad rap for being gun unfriendly..and it is in many cases. Its still appears to be better than Sweden (and thank you..I own a number of Swedish Mausers..wonderful rifles!!)
2
Outsourcing... subcontracting rather... is very very very common in the US. In fact... its probably the most common technique when building stuff with multipal parts and assemblies
2
When does the case get ejected?
2
@ethanpetersen3840 What would make it different from the M14? The price tag for one.....
2
If you are willing to jump through all the hoops.
2
Lavrentivs So you are saying that your gun laws really arent working then? Of course those illegal weapons are all stored in Grade 3 gun safes..right? (Grin) Right next to the grenades....
2
To you and Lavrentives...both of you have a very nice day..Ive got to go earn some kronnar and Ive got to drive about 200 kilometers to the jobsite. Be well and it was most enjoyable discussing world problems and solutions with you all. And no..I only pick on people Id be happy to consider friends. Be well, all of you .
2
Thats because it was designed to shoot the 200gr D166 /D46 bullet. All you need to do is either replace the front site with a taller one..or braze a bit on top. Or shoot the heavy bullets. A nice heavy cast bullet shot at cast bullet speeds is both inline with the sights and very very cheap to reload for.

Back in the 1980s I wound up with a #3 that was full dress, but a single shot 22. Empty magazine that the empty cases would fall into after operating the bolt. I have no recollection of where I got it from (I live in California) or where I traded it off to. Id did come with a matching bayonet. Since then Ive repeatedly kicked myself for trading it off. Now Ive got a dozen or so Smellies of every type..and no 22s in the lot. Sigh...
2
Want!!
2
You left out the Savage Arms (US) manufactured #4s.... of which there were a bunch "lend leased" to the Brits from 1940 onwards.. and the Aussie manufactured Lithgows
2
It makes quite good arrows for archery as well.
2
@zoiders Snicker..Walter Mitty I presume? When your nads finally drop lil fella, we can go for a beer and chat about the real world.
2
FightingPinguin Actually..thats hardly true..that All Guns are Designed to Kill! My Anshutz match rifle was designed to punch holes in paper. And so forth and so on. Yes..I do have military surplus arms that "were designed to kill people with"..including my Swedish Mausers. But its hardly a "truism" Hammers and kitchen knives are not designed to kill either..yet both are the most used weapons of Homicide in many nations..including the US.
2
Somebody did make a single shot semiauto rifle. I want to say post war Savage...but Im probably wrong.
2
@aaronmcgoldrick2439 The Lee Navy suffered from SERIOUS bore errosion... it was fast, the barrel materials were of poor quality and the powder and primers caused huge issues with high temp flame cutting. And yeah.. Id load at least an 80-85 gr bullet for military use.
2
Lavrentivs Through most of American history..when one was convicted of a crime..say bank robbery..one was put in jail and held for the period time mandated by law. When released..one got back ones clothing, personal items and any firearms that they had that were not involved in the crime itself. People who are ACTUALLY a danger to themselves or others..who have been caught in criminal acts should be put away. Not turned back out on the street. In the US..in some places..there have been recently laws enacted that take ones rights away if one May/Possibly/Might Be a danger. No proof required. Sounds much like the UK, no?
2
@daltongarrett7117 I carry a ParaOrd P14 a lot.
2
@oldgysgt 250-350 lbs. Same as in Michigan where I grew up hunting whitetails. Find one been hanging around a corn field for 3 yrs..they got pretty big.
2
Security is key. Even a single safe can be either wheeled out or dragged out via a truck and a chain. I have a very modest collection of XXX and only my closest compadres know what I have. Now I live in a very rural area, in a very gun friendly place..but concerns about both crooks and government means neither have a clue of what I own, with about the only things the gov knows about is the weapons on my CCW. That being said..Ive seen custom heavy duty gun storage simply cut apart using a simple torch or angle grinder with a cutting wheel on it. So few know what I own, and where they are stored. "They were all lost in a tragic boating accident in deep water"
2
Somali Pirate who pirates salami The US is bigger? Whodathunkit?! And its filled with people who left those foreign government warrens and came to Freedom.
2
Johan Jakobsson Oh Ive been to Sweden. And I visited my family members in Finland. Sweden is a nice country. Its finally getting over its Socialist Stage..you poor people discovered socialism was an abject failure and are slowly removing the baggage put into place in the 80s and 90s. Ever been to America? Take a month and visit the country. Its a bit bigger than the maps would have you believe...chuckle. I rescued a pair of Germans who came over for a 2 week sightseen trip via motorcycle. They looked at a map and said they could drive from the East Coast to the West Coast and back in 18 days, visiting all the cool places on the trip. By the time they made it out of the eastern states and into the Midwest..8 days had gone by...chuckle. Ultimately after they got out of the Army..they have visited many times and one has moved here, is married to a nice girl from Indiana and lives here. I think he just became a US citizen in fact.
2
Bravo Sir....bravo indeed!!
2
Well... when its all over and done... there is going to be a rather active weapons bazaar thats going to be happening. Everything from APCs to tanks to artillery to small arms. I hope your nation considers this. Nothing is going to be able to stop all that ordnance from coming over the borders. Shrug
2
@daudenfield2905 Odd..I have a pair of Tony Llama cowboy boots with non skid Vibram soles, my pickup truck cost me $500 and I weigh 8lbs more than I did when I graduated HS in 1971. Funny that. But then..Im Finn, German, Black Irish and Native American.
2
English is a second language to the lad..he is in front of a camera..so Im sure there is some "camera shyness" involved. Hell...try talking to a Finn..where silence is part of conversation. Just saying...
2
@martinkont6481 By the words of America's Founders..."the sword and every other terrible instrument of the soldiers trade are Americans Rights" So yeah. Tanks and war ships and aircraft are allowed by our Founders. And through most of American history..there has been no restrictions on them. Its only been since 1932..less than 100 yrs..that any restrictions have been placed on them.
2
@FreeOfFantasy I suspect the new 7.5 FK is going to be used in subguns in rather short order. Its quite...interesting.
2
@kennkid9912 Actually.. the Finns had better rifles than did the Russians. Now... what was the Russian death count? 1.5 million wasnt it?
2
@samiam619 Indeed they were smaller. Its rather fascinating to read that Mr So and So was nearly 6' tall..an emposing figure. Average mans height was 5' 9" in the mid 1800s. So when you handle a heavy weapon...sword, knife, pistol..hand it to your strong wife and she will likely be the size for whom it was designed for..given a mans mass.
2
32-20 is a good accurate cartridge. Available in lever guns as well at one time.
2
You might want to review the American Constitution. And the Swiss one as well..just to mention (2)
2
Johan Jakobsson Thats rather sad. You lads ought to do something about that. Particularly with your Somali invasion...just saying....
2
Johan Jakobsson Isnt that was the Dutch thought in 1938? And the French, Norwegians, Belgians and so forth? History ALWAYS repeats itself..and only the blindly blissful forget that. How many times has Europe and large bits of it been blood baths in the past 1500 yrs? What was the body count of the last war? 75 million? That was in my fathers lifetime and we still have veterans alive who fought in that war. Those of course..dont include the 290,000,000 dead since 1917..under communism...
2
Johan Jakobsson Good for you!! Thats probably why its not in your documents. However..we WANT armed citizens. Its In OURS. See how that works? See why we chuckle at you when you get upset when we snicker your laws? Our history is defined by our armed citizens. Yours is defined by vikings and staying neutral...along with failed socialism. Lets see..that last war you were involved in was 1814..it lasted about 5 days and ended with you losing Norway.
2
The US did the same with the Stinger machine gun. AN/M2 fitted with a buttstock during WW2
2
@Grimmtoof We dont want to become raiders. We want to protect ourselves FROM raiders..and the government. Sounds silly doesnt it? But then...we protected ourselves from the British Government..the Russians failed to protect themselves from their (new) government...same with Hungary...etc etc etc.
2
@arthurthedented odd that you didnt cover Leftwing paramilitary death squads...or Muslim paramilitry death squad...of which there are far far more than any rightwing paramilitary death squads. Not even counting the Cheka/NKVD ...who managed to murder 72,000,000 Russians. Hardly "rightwing"...correct?
2
@AndrewAMartin Red Maga Hats? Oh..you mean the Dress Uniform? Id suggest Andy...you may wish to try a bit harder to hide your tracks..you make it far far too easy for a couple people in street clothes and Rebocks and a Biden t-shirt...to walk up to you and put you down like a rabid dog.
2
@zackbobby5550 So Zack..you do have citations for your claims...right? Trot em out. Use all the white space necessary. Then tell us all about the manufactures sources of brass, primers, powder, bullets and all the other ingrediants to making ammunition. I also encourage you to give us the data on Covid 19 slow downs in each step of the chain, with verifying data. Use as much white space as necessary. This old capitalist busiess owner is dying to know all the bitsy bits! Trot em out! Double dog dare you!!

Some of us Ugly Americans are half Finn and have been to Soumi more than once. In fact..on my first trip nearly 50 yrs ago..I spent an interesting afternoon with Simo Hayha discussing the world, politics and being a 11B-4 in Vietnam, versus in Soumi. Interesting to compare notes. Given your political system is a lot less "free" than the American one..ours guarantees "guns like candy" as you so hysterically funny, put it...and your political system is about 170 yrs newer than ours is..and your nation was an offshoot of Soviet Russia..I can see your bias. We have this pesky old shabby piece of paper called a "Constitution" that spells out the limitations on government..one part of which says the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Now its true that in many places its been terribly infringed upon over the past 40 yrs..but we are doing everything we can to correct the drift to the Left. And its working. And yes..a goodly part of the planet is "totalitarian" in many regards. Even parts of the US could be considered "totalitarian"..but given we have 50 seperate states...most of those are returning to the doctrine laid out by our Founders..and as the political climes change..getting away from the politics of the American Left..which incrementally took many states to the Left...its happening. Now we have two choices..we can simply have the Second American Revolution and change it rapidly..with 200,000 dead leftists dozed into ditches..or we can do it humanely and take a bit more time at it. Time will tell which occurs first...but it is..is..is changing back to what our Founders laid out.
2
What part of "shall not be infringed" do you not comprehend? You might ponder on the "enemies, foreign and domestic" part of the Constitution before babbling again.
