My guess. 1) Rules about hiring on non citizens in sensitive jobs. 2) Movement of cash between the US and foreign countries, particularly China. 3) Anything involving Taiwan.

Except the people who gave him his degree have the same views. Many also have similar bullshit degrees.

They'd be upset he limited it to 1,000. Don't you know there are over 12 billion trans people on Earth? At least a billion in America alone.

@spartanonxy There's a term in aviation (Unfortunately forgot it) when a pilot will cause a crash by fighting turbulence. Sometimes it's better to take your hands off the controls and ride it out, then correct if necessary. Government officials have decided they can fight every problem by fiddling with adjustments to banking, interest rates, subsidies, etc. In the end they turn minor issues into catastrophies. Unfortunately too many people are ignorant of economic trends and freak out when told the government won't do anything because it will work itself out. I'm not in favor of full hands off capitalism, but over interference is proving just as bad.

Or those apposed to the current regime. See also, lying to the FBI.

Tax money is the singular reason for Baton Rouge to exist. It is the state capitol so every state agency is based there. This also means every federal agency has people based there. It's the home of LSU and a few other colleges, all taxpayer supported. I live in Florida, Tallahassee is the same way. If it weren't for tax dollars flowing into the city, the city would be an average small/mid sized town. There are a lot of cities in America who's singular business is government money. This doesn't even include towns that have developed around military bases.

"There have been attempts on my life." Receipts please?
17
How dare you bring up what they claimed last week. Only listen to what they say today. Which might swing 180° tomorrow, but still be correct.
17
Catch and release isn't working. Maybe try something else.
16
But then complaining that those other people won't rebuild your house.
16
Those evil store owners might force thieves to not pay for a subway trip to another neighborhood to steal stuff there. Then have to carry it all the way home on another subway trip where a different thief might rob them. Or worse, end up in a jurisdiction where they actually enforce the laws. Imagine the horror of a criminal might go through if they ended up in jail.
15
They know, they don't care. They only think about themselves and now. Never another others or even one day into the future.
15
Ditto Florida.
15
This is a video by and for people who change their profile background and think they've made the world a better place.
15
I checked a private school in my area. $13,000/year plus activities (sports, etc) expenses. They claim 96% college placement for graduates.
15
It almost makes you miss the old days. When, for a fee and possible future favor, Vinnie and Paulie would visit the guy buying all this stolen stuff and "convince" him to go into another line of work. Or maybe the guy would suddenly decide to take a surprise vacation.
15
@secondchance6603 The visual sobriety test (Walk the line, say the alphabet, etc) isn't really a test. It's mostly to get probable cause to do a more scientific test like blood or a breathalyzer.
14
Years ago Rush Limbaugh said he stopped doing parodies on his show because it was becoming impossible to out crazy the left. No matter how far it went, or how insane the premise, they'd go further in real life.
14
When I was younger we had to go to the post office to get our mail because our dog jumped in the mail truck. If they can deny a single address, they can deny a neighborhood.
14
Imagine the worst case scenario. It's their starting point.
14
@AverageYoutubeEnthusiast I'm sure if this happened to a councilman/alderman/state representative the squatter would be tossed out before he could say "but I've got a lease" real or not. It's important to protect their bosses.
14
So, Nike won't be importing any Houston Rockets merch from China, right?
14
Not only insurance fraud. It isn't uncommon for many to move on to filing for disability because now they can't work because of their "injuries".
14
Insurance generally doesn't cover retail theft. But that doesn't matter to the thieves or their neighbors.
14
Cold weather makes "refugees" fleeing for their lives want to go home. Sort of like many of those same refugees in the US and UK who flew home over Christmas. Then returned to help maintain their refugee status.
14
Also a Floridian. It's odd that burglaries of occupied dwellings are less common in Florida. It's almost like thieves know that certain actions are likely to lead to unwanted (And very unhealthy) outcomes.
13
Unless it's 2006 and I was being offered $200K against my townhouse that may have been worth $70K. But we remember how that turned out.
13
The other family got a secret two for one deal.
13
Possibly both. Most criminal gangs aren't known for their skills with building maintenance. Though I have faith the city and state will just shuffle them along to more subsided housing, which will promptly be wrecked. Rinse and repeat.
13
CNN "We insure equal time for all of guests to explain their points." Also CNN "Tonight we present a discussion with one moderator, three liberals and one conservative." But remember, equal time.
13
Quietly file paperwork announcing every store in the area with shut down before it passes. As soon as it does announce the locations publicly. Be grandfathered in and exempt from the law.
13
They have insurance! Said by any idiot that's never filed a an insurance claim.
13
I tried to find common factors. But none of the news reports give a description of the suspects.
13
I know when I see a woman with a belly I stay clear. I lock my doors and windows for fear or some of the infamous prego gangs in my area.
13
I could understand allowing judges, particularly in an appeal, to reduce the sentence. There are cases where things spiralled out of control without the knowledge of all participants. Rare, but it happens. But using these to create effectively a blanket elimination of the felony murder clause is just stupid.
13
@johndoeboston123 This is what screwed up Oregon and Washington. Californians fled the state when it became too messy. But then repeated the same pattern when they arrived in their new home. Because "this time it will be different."
12
Much like cops going through neighborhoods and ticketing every car in a driveway that has a bumper overhanging the sidewalk. But ignoring the tents on the same sidewalks and the rows of RVs. Homeowners with cars will pay the fines, homeless won't.
12
Arrested for assault on a minor. Oddly facing a greater penalty than the actual perpetrator.

I spent two nights there a couple years ago. One of the things I remember was a spring in the middle of the street in front of my hotel. Someone there told me it was another broken water main, and that they were all over the city. That one had been going for a about a week. As I drove around I noticed puddles despite the lack of rain were a common thing. The city has money, but it's always going into public service programs (being redistributed) and almost never into infrastructure maintenance. I don't know if it is the plan for Jackson, but I remember a town outside of Chicago where everything was collapsing. It was too expensive for the local government to fix anything so they were going to wait for it to get so bad that the state of Illinois and federal government had to come in and fix it after declaring it a disaster.
12
Illinois. The state attorney general is controlled by Chicago. She's part of the machine and so protected.
11
Portland would like to talk to both of you.
11
I just need one that doesn't record sounds inside the car. I don't need a history of what I say while driving.
11
It's rage over George Floyd and the Penny case outcome caused the car to spontaneously combust .
11
Peacock "It's new for us. So, close enough?"
11
@princessmarlena1359 The three S's. Shoot, shovel, and shut up. This has been the unwritten rule for dealing with bears in Florida. Much like squatters, they are protected to the point that using harsh language against one is almost a crime. Deal with the situation, but never mention it to anyone.
11
Change the law. If you are injured during, or as a result of criminal activity, you forfeit any right to sue. This is a big reason stores tell employees not to interfere. They are civilly liable if an employee injures a "customer".
11
It can be argued that you have a moral and civic duty, not just a right. By letting a criminal go uninterrupted you are setting them loose on your fellow citizens. Of course this is fine with woke prosecutors who make it their job to do it every day.
10
So they demand a free speech propaganda echo chamber. Plus money. Sounds like another day in SJW world.
10
Coke and Pepsi used to trade off buy 1, get one free almost every other week at Publix. (The grocery store I use most) Now it's buy 2 get one free, and not nearly as common. They are also $3.89 for a 2 liter, double the price of two years ago. I work in a restaurant so I can eat free 4-5 days a week. I'm not sure how I'd be paying for food if I didn't.
10
There are also a few more NGOs and open border immigration groups that are helping to send them to New York and Chicago specifically. They want to overload the system in order to break it. This will, in theory, allow them to replace it with a new more open system.
