BLM desperately needs this to be overturned. They need something to ask for donations. (Those mansions aren't getting any cheaper.) And their members want to do some late night masked shopping.

The money is gone. Yes, they can make repayment a part of the penalty for anyone convicted. But do you honestly think any of them have the cash to pay even a tiny percentage?

I got lucky. I have friends that range from fundamentalist right through Anarcho left. Most have gotten used to the idea that my opinions are mine If they couldn't deal with them before, they wouldn't follow me on any social media platforms Though I did have my Twitter and Reddit accounts nuked. Apparently I hurt some admin's feelings. I do find some of the Red Pill/Manosphere type content funny. A lot of them are saying stuff that I ranted about 30 years ago. But I guess now they've found a way to make it profitable.

Be happy with the regular kickbacks, gifts, and other graft that Louisiana voters have come to accept as normal. But his youth and inexperience made him think he had a new, faster way to get rich from "outside sources". Basically, he got greedy.

This guy's video could be an entire You Cringe, You Lose episode of Zeducation.
3
It's part of the echo chamber. If 90%+ of what you hear confirms this, you can't help but believe Neoprogressive candidates are the only salvation, and of course have massive support.
3
And they'd be fired. Instead they keep their hands down and "just follow orders". Then wait to develop back problems around 10-12 years in and retire with full benefits and pay.
3
At least make the parent(s) responsible in civil court. Compensation for the loss of the vehicle, any repairs required (full replacement if necessary), increase in insurance, plus another 10-20% for the overall hassle. Any amount not paid before the juvenile turns 18 is transferred to them on their 18th birthday. I know states have the ability to get money out of people who don't want to pay, just ask any guy who is facing court ordered child support. Yes, I know most don't have the money to cover all of it. But now they'll have less. I'd be willing to offer a one time forgiveness because many parents honestly don't know what their kids are doing. But once informed, the responsibility is on them.

It's California, don't expect too much. In a more sane state a prosecutor would slowly say "Stole....wigs....from...cancer... patients" and explain how they would need to be protected from the jury by the deputies. Now tell your attorney that any deal offered is acceptable.
3
He wasn't pulled over in an "under resourced" community. So it was ok to search him and his car. In fact it should have been required because clearly people not living there are the true criminals. Kimberly Foxx, probably.
3
Jackhole pulls a gun and threatens construction worker. Jackhole arrested, car towed. Construction continues. Oh wait, I live in a sane state. This is California, nothing sane or logical is going to happen.
3
They couldn't end funding across the board. But it could be written into any stuff like matching funds for law enforcement or education to be ineligible for sanctuary cities and states. This is how the drinking are was raised to 21. Congress wouldn't allow federal highway funding for any state that didn't make it 21.
3
Technical Recruiter. The answer to the question "Whatever happened to that sorority chick who took seven years, and six changes of her major, to get her sociology degree?"
3
Don't grant any understanding to the girl at 9:50. She'll be off to college soon and have everything she believes reinforced. Then on to the professional world where she makes everyone walk on eggshells until she starts suing everyone in sight.
3
I wonder how many previous clients are doing DNA tests of their children?

In the property owner's defense, they did keep up on yardwork. There are some places near me that are overgrown and look like they are being used as a dump. Others that are closed up and clearly unoccupied, but have a local (probably) owner. This sounds more like the latter. Admittedly 15 years is a bit extreme, but that's not unheard of. A neighbor inherited a house that he couldn't do anything with other than pay property taxes because of legal arguments over the will and then actual property lines. That went on for almost 8 years.
3
Many of their listeners are the same people who's retirement plan involves investing in lottery tickets. Getting it wrong and doing it over again is a normal part of their lives.
3
The other problem with BID based taxes is that every business gets an equal vote. This sounds good until you realize a guy running a food truck in a parking lot has the same power as the insurance company with 500 employees that owns that parking lot.
3
A reporter looking over the Lightfoot report and trying to figure out how to condense it into a 15-20 second bit that people might pay attention to. Supermayor starts swinging Jackpot!
3
This is why cities like Portland and Seattle will ignore fifty tents lined up along a sidewalk. But ticket anyone who's car bumper overhangs a sidewalk in the driveway. A hundred homeowners will pay before the first junkie even acknowledges a citation.
3
It won't run out, just reshuffling of where the money comes from. As Ronald Reagan said, " There is nothing so permanent as a temporary government program." The fuel oil subsidy was implemented in 1973 as a temporary reaction to the OPEC oil embargo. Every attempt to stop it since then has resulted in near riots from people who refuse to get rid of oil burning furnaces. Fortunately these are becoming more scarce as older houses are demolished.
3
Remember when bail was partially based on whether or not you were a local citizen? Under the old system a person who not only wasn't from New York, but had proven that they were willing to cross borders without consideration for the law would have had their bail set a few times over the regular amount. But we can't do that anymore because.... reasons.
3
@BaronEvola123 I've seen it personally. At first you can't believe she's saying that sort of stuff. Then the shock of realizing the judge is buying it. No proof, no previous evidence or even mention of what she's saying. But suddenly her word is all that's needed?
3
Like a lot of liberals, they get upset when it effects them. But everyone else is on their own until then. See also, mass immigration. Life gets rough when you actually have to live by the rules you created.
3
The only thing that stopped Supermayor was a lack of resources. If her city or township, or whatever, had an extra zero on the budget, she would have spent it too.
3
I only wish that the Justices would add a comment in their decision that they wouldn't have had to do this if the cowards in Congress (Both parties) had just passed some sort of legislation to clarify official federal law on the subject. But instead they hid behind the Supreme Court.
3
Bureaucracy. Never ask questions. Never think independently or apply logic to a situation. Just follow orders.
3
I don't understand what he said. I don't think he did either. And neither did the closed captioning for the TV I was watching it on. It froze up almost as many times as Uncle Joe did.
3
I used to watch them occasionally for an alternative point of view. Then, at some point, they fully lost their minds. I don't consider crazy an alternative view. The show is by and for people who wake up each morning and ask "What will piss me off today?", then actively seek something out because they feel guilty for daring to have a good day.
3
There will be, but not from the applicants who were turned down. When substandard cops start screwing up there will be a wave of lawsuits against the city.
3
I'm sure a lot of people had to "do studies" to ensure effective use of the property.
3
You have to take the ride, you don't have to do the time. The court system is far from perfect, but you have a much better chance of walking away from a judge than you do from walking away from cops you decide to throw down with.
3
The second part of "her" plan failed when "he" was sent to the male wing of the jail. Though you have to admire the effort and commitment to the plan.
3
But the stone is still infected with the spirit of racism. Or something like that.
3
Almost every lawyer's greatest hurdle to victory is their own client. These two still don't believe they'll be punished and will walk at the end. Likely planning their Tik Tok victory dance video.
3
I wonder if New York has ever considered a limit of a 1% or 1.5% increase on taxes or fees for it's citizens? Or maybe a similar limit on the budget. Businesses are supposed to get by with only that regardless of market conditions. All the big brains in government should be able to figure out how to do it easily.

Just send me a case of Rockstar each week and nobody gets hurt.

Target "Please customers, stop calling the police when you see criminals doing criminal stuff in our stores. We aren't going to press charges regardless of what they're arrested for." Also Target "Don't blame us for higher prices. All our stuff keeps getting stolen and the regular paying customers have to make up the difference." Remember when "See something, say something " was hammered into our collective heads? Now "No snitching" has gone from the hood to the corporate boardroom.
2
We've gone from affordable housing to affordable/free luxury housing. Keep moving the goalposts.
2
Aren't these the same people who have been claiming that it was the large police presence at previous "peaceful protests" that set off the riots? But why let earlier claims stand in the way of new ones.
2
Also mentioned was how every study of the results of implementing DEI policies leads to disaster is buried.
2
@IronPsyde Or had an angry ex make claims against him.

I work for a large restaurant chain. Our new policy on walkouts is to let them go. It's no longer dine and dash, it's dine and walk away at your leisure. I believe the basis is a fear of lawsuits if the customer is harmed while basically trying to rob us. (Welcome to 20current year) Also they don't want the negative publicity if the customer happens to be a few shades darker than a sheet of paper and decides to scream racism.
2
Didn't report his income to the bankruptcy court. I wonder if the IRS will be looking at him next?
2
There's a hair shop in the strip mall near where I work. From the outside it looks like it has as good security and window reinforcement as the medical marijuana store across the street. I'm guessing they know their customers.
2
TYT "But they are taking food. Literally stealing bread." Wrecks everything in the shop TYT "But they took bread. BREAD!"

@tin2001 You are the listed property owner. They claim to be a tenant. If the utilities are already in your name they stay that way until the tenant says otherwise. Yes, if you didn't pay your bill for your home it could be cut off. But they claim to be renting from someone with an agreement that the listed owner will pay the utilities as part of the rent. The fact that they aren't actually paying rent doesn't matter under the law. Stupid, I know, but that is apparently how it works.
2
When (If ever) arrested for doing this, add the cost of repairs to the charges. It becomes a felony. Assuming tampering with public safety equipment isn't already one. Then its off to state prison.
2
Aristocrats used to have hermits living on their estates. It was an odd fad of having your own primitive person as part of the landscape. Maybe the museum, and places around there, could start a similar thing. Make it a competition between locations to see who has the most innovative urban reuse person on their property.
2
@latetotheparty184 Cut off a hand. Give them an application for disability payments. America!
