Think of it like an Epi pen. It keeps you alive long enough for emergency personnel to get to you and start giving full treatment. Those 10-12 minutes (or longer) waiting on EMTs is time blood isn't going to the person's brain.

A number of unions also support minimum wage increases because the base rate for their members, already earning well over minimum, is tied to the areas minimum wage.

I'm convinced they brought her in to allow Supermayor to work out a plan to bail with a golden parachute. But they waited too long, the internal audit will be almost meaningless against a federal investigation.
2
That requires common sense. Bureaucrats are required to have that portion of their brain removed prior to accepting the job.
2
In Florida we'd be warming up Ol' Sparky. But it's NYC so they'll probably get an apology for having the police harass them.
2
@rickhunter6513 In Florida the teachers union heavily pushed for education being added as a right in the state constitution. They won. Now they complain that it's almost impossible to expell students even for violence at school. They are sent back right to where it happened, usually along with the people that were their victims. The fact that this is the exact scenario described by those that apposed it is completely lost on them.

When she got to "We didn't crunch the numbers" she admitted they were in no way prepared for what might happen. That was the first thing she should have been doing. They should have two plans. First, if the courts decide to create a new city starting with the latest decision, second if they set the date based on the original decision. My guess is that they don't want to actually have official numbers on paper how much Baton Rouge is bleeding from the new area. It would destroy their "We've been paying them" argument.
2
@SpiritGirlSF They have a very efficient health and safety inspection (Shakedown) department. Legit businesses are one of their last sources of income.
2
Ten years for the state to get state permits to build something. Wait until the homeowners and businesses who were burned out try to rebuild. They are in for a hell of a shock. But that's just the California way.
2
Rittenhouse....exists Leftists.....REEEEE!
2
I had the opportunity several years ago. But basic life stuff came up and I missed it. In hindsight, I was being saved.
2
They still believe it. It's become part of the accepted gospel of Orange Man Bad.

These same people will absolutely freak out and demand the firing of everyone involved if a sex offender is hired and anything happened to a woman. They will say the company didn't do its due diligence before hiring. Not that having the box means anything. Most companies do a background check before hiring anyway. Criminal convictions are easy to find.

Store is okay with people stealing. Store fires good employee. Employee morale drops, along with any sense of loyalty to the store. Employees decide to join in the theft.
2
I thought I saw a Republican riot. But it just turned out to be a gentleman harrumphing at a Wall Street Journal editorial.
2
Its rage over George Floyd and the Penny case caused it to spontaneously combust.
2
I'm sure his family will be ever so distraught. The sort of sorrow that can only be placated by a $15-20 million lawsuit. And given the political powers of the city, they'll pay $6-$8 million before the final coroner's report.
2
What did Harris do to piss off GE? First SNL mocks her, then NBC News sends in an interviewer who doesn't treat it like an infomercial for the Harris campaign.
2
Check back when these people are finally kicked out. I'm betting the place will be trashed and some of the appliances will have been sold off.
2
Consequences? What are those?
2
Not surprised. Hands up, don't shoot is still believed by many people.
2
She truly sounds like someone who was promoted beyond their skill level, but is trying to justify another promotion. Just keep repeating key words and phrases and hope something catches before others realize they need to be kicked out.
2
She's not ratcheting up, she's just ratchet.
2
In the end I'll take my chances with a jury over my chances with someone desperate enough to break into my home. I have to wonder how much of this is Libs still being butthurt over Kyle Rittenhouse and a few other self defense cases? They want to make sure their darling stormtroopers aren't endangered next time they go on a rampage.
2
I thought this was taken care of back in the 90's when the ACLU sued for the right of Illinois citizens to own a gun after being banned by in subsided housing. They won and it was decided a landlord, even the state, couldn't disarm you.
2
@Richard_Potato See also, Chicago vs the rest of Illinois.
2
Check your local laws. The laws for squatters vary from state to state. In some places you are a legal resident of an address when you receive mail there. Drop by the post office and mail yourself a letter, and two days later it can take months to get someone out.
2
A rule I still stick to today. Stop far enough back to see the tires under the car in front of you. This usually gives you enough room to get out of there without having to ram your way through.
2
I live in a deep blue spot in a sea of red here in Florida. Our city council once bragged that we were going to become the Berkeley of the East. If you had a template on how to ruin a small city, they would be following it exactly.
2
LA, San Francisco, Seattle, and too many other cities set the precedent by paying out before the final report was even in.
2
And then I discovered girls.... I wonder how many hobbies or unique business opportunities have been sidetracked by this discovery?

For people wondering how they got away with it for so long, look at Bernie Madoff and his decades long ponzi scheme. When asked how he outsmarted regulators and law enforcement he laughed. He pointed out that most of them really do nothing. If you give them any excuse, no matter how implausible, they accept it. They are looking for a reason to not work. Actual investigations take time and require work. The people overseeing the food program had money to give away. Their success was based on how much they gave away, not the actual number of people fed. So they asked for a number and were told around three thousand. When asked for proof (They aren't complete idiots!), they were handed a list of random names. Good enough! If they were required to check and see if these people even existed and were receiving the help, that would have required work. And government bureaucrats will die before they get off their butts and actually do something not specifically in their job description and ordered to by a superior.

You skipped over her security entourage. Police officers that get extra pay for being her drivers and bodyguards. At least one was paid for over 300 hours in a two week period. We are supposed to believe he worked 21 and a half hours a day for 14 days straight?

There is a contract, a covenant if you prefer, between the people and the government. The people will not take direct action, revenge, against others who have wronged them. They leave it up to the government to deal with catching and punishing them. The government isn't perfect, the majority of criminals aren't caught for each of their crimes. But we accept this in exchange for the belief that eventually most will be caught and punished if they continue to engage in criminal behavior. The government has broken their end of the contract. They refuse to stop all but the most obvious of crimes. It is only a matter of time until the people go back to the brutal but efficient system of vigilantism. Deal with criminals right then and there. If they survive, the police can pick them up at the hospital. If not, oh well, the rest will learn.

Teen — Woke City — No prison time.

I get a similar feeling whenever someone tries to create an Elric movie or series. Please make sure everything is right before the first scene is shot. It would be so easy to completely fuck everything up.

Their accounts and tax attorneys are the real heroes of the company. I understand why back during the tech boom 30 years ago there were companies worth hundreds of millions. Angle investors and dupes backed up truckloads of cash to keep them going, but that blew up in a few years. Some of the bigger companies have never shown a year in the black for decades. But keep going. Inventive use of tax codes by companies who employee people who likely demand the evil rich pay their fair share.

He'd file for, and probably get, disability because of a missing hand.

Corrine Brown here in Florida. It was only two years after 24 years of accepting "gifts" and "campaign donations" several times over what she ever spent to campaign, while running her gerrymandered and protected district. Unfortunately, she is the exception, not the rule.
2
By 18th century terminology, when it was written, "well regulated" ment well equipped. The navy considered a properly regulated ship to have extra rope, canvas, gunpowder, tools, etc. A well regulated ship did not refer to one who's crew followed naval code. A well regulated militia is simply one that is prepared to do their job.

If caught, doubtful but could happen, I'll bet my next five paychecks against whatever change Sean has in his pockets that at least one of the three is on probation, at least two are awaiting trial on other charges, and all have a felony record.
2
Shh, were not allowed to notice that.

As long as the welfare checks keep coming they'll be reelected.

Several years ago I was buried in credit card debt. (My fault) I stopped using them and began paying the minimum for all but the one with the lowest amount due. For me at least, it was worth having one less bill each month.

Remember when the Democrats wanted to load the Supreme Court with six more justices? Magically, they've all gone silent on that one.

Trans issues aren't a major subject on your channel? Transphobe!!!!

1) Idiots 2) Malicious idiots 3) They figure it must be worth something. No one is selling them for the $1,000 he said in the video. Maybe $200, tops.

Yet there are people who get their news almost exclusively from TYT because they are "100% reliable".

I remember a South American country (Brazil I think) cracking down on bribery and other corruption in their bureaucracy after decades of complaints. They claimed it took so long and was so common that most civil servants would quit if they actually had to live on their salary alone and the whole system would grind to a halt. Apparently many did quit. Though mostly to try and avoid arrest. Once the raises that they were supposed to have gotten (Why pay them more? They make plenty from the bribes.) were approved everything carried on.

When you tip cash instead of adding it to the delivery you show up as no tip. This gets you flagged as a bad customer. It's different in a restaurant where the staff talk to each other. But with Door Dash, and similar services, the driver from Monday will likely never meet the driver from Friday.
