To see him inside the church was very difficult. Yet somehow it was elevating — as it always is, I suppose, to be in the presence of someone whom one feels is better than oneself.

Snakes feast on rats.

@frankpepper4797 Whatever you say. But you know, the USSR benefitted immensely from US military aid in WWII. It would've ceased to exist without it. Think about it, Igor.
4
@DataWaveTaGo I think I would support such a firefighting force. If it's the best idea, then it hasn't happened yet for ordinary reasons of weak leadership. It's not to do with inaffordability or scarcity of people or resources.

Asia: "Excuse us while we cringebarf."

Go post that 1000x on Soviet social media. Oops, I mean Russian social media. The two regimes are just so much alike.
4
@albback8176 Ok, Mr. Peskov. Copying straight from the Hilter playbook as usual, I see. Under his rule Germany 'justified' large-scale atrocities as 'defensive' atrocities.
4
@albback8176 The bear is bleeding out. Slowly at first, but faster as time passes. Alternate version: The Russian frog is coming to a simmer.

@s_fashionlover "When you emigrate to Canada, leave your conflicts," I said. It seems you mistook it for "You Indians over in India are responsible." That was in no way my point. If there are such people as you point to, they could easily solve the problem by taking an interest in becoming Canadians, not residents of Indian enclaves! No border-straddling, please. To newly-arriving or would-be Indian emigrants to Canada, I say: You're welcome to come in, but it's In Or Out. I hope Canada-India relations can recover quickly. There are important areas where we should be working together as allies, for example against those who would like to see democracy disappear off the face of the earth.

Anand copies Trudeau's condescending Grade-7 supply-teacher bearing. It's incredibly grating and frankly insulting.
4
Well, for once this wasn't Trudeau's fault. The Speaker thought he would make a contribution by bringing in this old guy who lives in his hometown, but basic history was over his head and he blew it. Unfortunately everyone trusted him to handle it correctly. Blame also has to go to the Prime Minister's Office because they have ultimate responsibility for visits of foreign heads of state. The PM's chief of staff must resign.
4
@Freshlygrazed There's a point at which open-mindedness results in one's brains spilling out. Sweep that stuff up, please, and remove the stain it left. Thank you.
4
Bossiness, nosiness, self-righteousness, meddling and policing other people's actions have skyrocketed to levels not seen since the the Cultural Revolution or the Puritans.

Yes!

"Malik" doesn't give you a clue?
3
Please. York has always been a joke.
3
Thank you, @sunrise1975italia . I agree with every word of that.
3
Socialism is the opiate of the masses. Argentina's economy is the addict. Milei is the rehab doctor. The sweating and fever of the patient signals the imminent return of health.
3
* jamb Also, longer screws for the hinges.
3
You mean invade your neighbour.😂
3
@sammavitae114 Clearly you forget what it said on those cups.
3
I'd say he's more of a Peter Pan.
3
@Nothing-fp7jg Protest is indeed a cornerstone of a free society. But protesting week-old election results (!) is une chose totalement insensée à faire.
3
How can Steven Guilbeault be a high-ranking member of the political elite?😮 He comes across like he's a part-time assistant manager of a hardware store, the one who gets the worst shifts. Or a custodian at an elementary school. Though of course, in fairness, those two jobs are solidly useful to society. He's not.
3
Some do, but some drop not much rain and produce a lot of lightning strikes, perhaps thousands of them. One of the latter type his northern Quebec forests about 10 days ago, after a dry May. Presto, fires.
3
Ha. This has absolutely zero to do with censorship.
3
@momokui No one's freedom of navigation was impeded in this incident.
3
@icky_mack Their last election is regarded by Western observers as clean. They did elect the guy and they continue to support him. Yes, Ukraine's democracy is flawed but it's on the right side of the democracy/authoritarian state divide. Far more democratic than Russia! A lot of improvement was made in the 2014-2021 period. Of course there's been a wartime loss of freedom, but that's standard in any country with a war on its own soil, even Western ones. The 2024 election is planned to fall on time.

Wrong. 52 arrests, 49 of them adults.

A simple lawsuit will do wonders to provide for the baby's post-secondary education. Get a good lawyer or two.
3
I always disliked the blonde host, taking her for an entitled narcissist. An obnoxious affirmative action hire, now gone and no doubt at home doing at around fifty what she should have done twenty or thirty years earlier.
3
4 points in rapidly worsening order: 1) First I learned that shipping containers are assigned high priority for inspection due to the high perceived chance of illegalities.😀 2) But 'high priority' still means only 1.3% of containers are inspected.🤨But wait!... 3) Then I found that this is for containers arriving in Canada only. 😮 4) Finally it was confirmed that containers leaving Canada are given a far lower priority, and that the percentage inspected is a secret.😠
3
What tripe this is. A company says "Hey, come shop at our store instead of at the other guys' " and that's somehow supposed to be terrible. Low, tryna-be 'gotcha' journalism, trawling for clicks because Loblaws' unrelated scandal was in the news. Grabbing emotional people by their emotions for ad dollars.
3
2:10 2024, the year of the kray zee lady eyeglass frames. (Slogan: "So you know who to run from at full speed!")
3
Could be a matter of exceeding the daily or hourly comment limit.

I love how half the Russian posters are like "@IanCochrane As a Canadian taxpayer, this is theft from me!" and the other half are like "@MapleLeafForever As a Canadian taxpayer, I am against this immoral theft of Russian assets!" 🤣 Ok, Putinists.🙄 This Canadian taxpayer is 100% behind making a vital contribution to global security.
3
Left-Woke-Progressive-Liberal corruption. Onrushing Socialism and neo-Marxism. Anti-Semitism. People are awakening to them everywhere. It was writ large in the European elections.🎉
3
One-kilogram bag?

No equal rights is correct. They have umpteen extra rights.

Rideau Hall, to be specific

"Time's up, Peter Pan. Put on your enchanted slippers and fly off into the night."
3
Perfect account name.🤣 1) Democracy is fully intact. 2) Freedom to say what one likes doesn't cover break & enter, vandalism, trespassing, etc. Nor harassment, threats, intimidation, calls for violence, etc.
3
Hmm. Freud said pyromania is how some boys choose to impress the boys who they're attracted to. So do you suppose?
3
They're discussing what they always do: just how damned wonderful they are.
3
@zammmerjammer Funny you should say that. I read that his ex-wife, the boy's mother, was arrested for trafficking meth. (And GHB😮)
3
Pierre Poilievre for Prime Minister. Justin Ocasio Cortez for compost.
3
Nothing odd about showing the Tu-95, which is indeed an old Soviet bomber. It's still a mainstay of the Russian bomber fleet and is expected to remain in service until 2040. Wikipedia: "Fighters from NATO members are often sent to intercept and escort Tu-95s as they perform their missions along the periphery of NATO airspace."
3
@timmackinnon5547 Thank you. Make Justin Ocasio Cortez a Supply Teacher Again
