Iraq population in 1955 - 6.4 million , today 2024 - 46,5 million people. UN predictions for 2050 - 74 million people. Terrible combination with climate change and more people 😢

I heard Pakistan expert say that little was learned and implemented from some big floods back around 2010, like people still build on river banks or flood plains, that should not be allowed. I think he said Bangladesh has done some good things that should be used in Pakistan too. So parts can be prevented by taking right actions, part of it is weather and geography. Plus Pakistan population growth is big problem too for food and living, 1955 - 40 million people, today 230 million people, UN predict 2050 there will be 338 million people in Pakistan. That future is bound to create a lot of pain and suffering sadly 😥.

@coffeecatto3375 Oil giant Saudi Aramco says customers were unaffected by an attack by Yemen’s Houthi rebels on a petroleum products distribution plant in Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea city of Jeddah. One of the facility’s tanks was hit by a missile in early on Monday. The attack knocked out 10 percent of all fuel that was stored at the plant, a Saudi Aramco official said on Tuesday, adding that the tank – one of 13 at the facility – is currently out of action.

They face many challenges, just take the population growth, totally out of control, they went from 12 million people in 1990 to to almost 41 million people today. Un predict they will hit 65 million within the next 30 years. Close to 23 million people – 55 % of the Afghan population – suffer from hunger and 8.7 million have less than one meal per day.

Well he was a wise king, but greedy men and currupt leaders are plentiful, so the gold may be digged by foreign companies now that Egypt has eased rules on mining or the money from the mining will go into the wrong pockets. Not many can handle and distribute national wealth and resources in a balanced way.

Maybe they love kids and don't wanna bring children into that unhealthy society
25
@WBlake01 yes agree, they already get a ton of data from your social media and phone, enough is enough.
23
@catriona_drummond agree Nigeria 1955 - 40 million people, 2024 - 229 million, 2050 forcast 377.000.000 😱. Many live in deep poverty, you can never have good society if population is wildly out of control .

Agree nuclear power is an important part the future IMO, but it takes time. Modern nuclear power plants are planned for construction in five years or less. Also UN predict we go from around 8 billion people to 11 billion the next 80 years. We should focus on bringing down birthrate by education and family planning too.
10
And at the same time its super corrupt and rotten in many ways, difficult dilemma.

@ikka489 I hope you are right, but if climate change really sets in then : " Global warming will do the Middle East no favors. Evidence abounds it will be the region that climate change will hit hardest. Summer temperatures across the region are expected to increase more than twice the global average. Prolonged heat waves, desertification, and droughts will make parts of the Middle East and North Africa uninhabitable. Where Middle Easterners will still be able to live, climate change may fuel violent competition over diminishing resources." I pray they change and develop fast enough.
8
@chrismcaulay7805 exactly 100s of billions given in aid across Africa for 50 years has fueled this and still must are poor.
