I'm in Belfast, here's what happens, anecdotal on my street but if happening on my street, one can be sure its every street and area. Council house tenant, lone widower passes away, foreigner moved in. House for let, foreigner moves in. House for sale, its sold and a foreigner moves in. Surely, if these poor desperate refugees/ asylum seekers are desolate, how can they afford the rent or actually buy the houses? It's the council via the government funding this racket, meanwhile our own can't get a council house, or afford private, and obviously buying a house is out of the equation. Plus all the new builds everywhere, they aren't going to local people or indeed the indigenous, all going to people who have been imported.

It's a two way street, either plead guilty, or rot in jail on remand. Remember, when they appeared in court, they didn't know the plight of others who pleaded guilty, as they were locked up somewhere. Very bad advice, from so called solicitors I presume, plead guilty, get a fine etc. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way, but I'm confident most of the prison sentences, in the near future, will be reversed.

@jamestuck6764 I know what you are saying, but I was just pointing out, that for myself growing up here in Northern Ireland, every evening meal generally involved potatoes in some variety. Be that, boiled, roasted, chipped, mashed or a real favourite was champ. Mashed potatoes with scallions as we call them, spring onions. Was just to vary how they were presented. Northern Ireland, like the Republic, is mostly farmland, so I suppose most farmers grew potatoes back then. They were cheap and generally grown locally, keeping the costs low. Times are a bit different now, as , only speaking for myself, maybe only have potatoes once or twice a week.
