The problem even with an enquiry, is the government decide what the remit will be for it. So say for example, a certain prominent person was directly involved, they most likely couldn't be named and shamed, because it wasn't part of the remit. They, the government would set out the parameters of any enquiry, which would be so narrow, that it would be a waste of time. It might feed the public with a few scalps, but certainly not the main players. Imo, this carry on, I'm choosing my words carefully, goes to the top and bottom of the establishment, every branch of it. There is no way in this world would any high profile person be held responsible. Remember, this was known about for decades, we just never knew the scale of it. Unfortunately we may never know.

@GalacticRailroad317As someone who grew up on the backstreets of Belfast, during the troubles, I can assure you the youngsters weren't trained in military tactics. Yes a cache of petrol bombs were generally at hand somewhere, ready for when required. Believe me most of the riots came about for when the police or Army or indeed both were kicking down doors of old Doris at number 26 looking for something, terrorism related, guns, bomb making materials etc. More often than not the riots ensued because they were picking on the innocent people who had no time for paramilitaries, and it was a reaction to that in most cases. In general life continued as per normal, I'm one of these people who have read most books, or watched most documentaries about the troubles, and can safely say it wasn't as bad as they made out.
If I'm correct our police here have been routinely armed since the 1950s when the IRA had a campaign back then, and that has continued to this day. One thing I can say, it's a very rare occasion when the police here even draw their handguns, never mind fire it.

@armondtanz We are talking about different people here. I'm male, in my first job, the women fondled me, said all sorts of innuendo of what they would do to me, I took it for what it was, banter. So don't dare say it's all men, which is what you are implying, the same way I would never say all the women would do the same.. In another comment you basically said he is working class, so are you saying it's only a working class issue? I'm working class, proud of it, but I don't go around doing things to my opposite sex. Don't generalise everyone.

@heliumcalcium396 You're missing the point of the persons comment. Of course everyone is greedy in their own way. That being said, those that supply the product, ie. the owners, will go out of their way to supply it at the cheapest price, to gain most profits, either for themselves or the shareholders. Nothing wrong with that in principle. However, further down the chain, the workers who actually do the graft on the shop floor, get shafted. By that I mean, the bosses will pay whatever wages they can, to maximise the profits. In most cases it will be the lowest they can get away with.
