@Audioremedy0785 did you watch the video? Watch the video. He very literally quoted numbers. 7 to 10,000 mi. And every other time you get your oil changed is not any better than every time.
13
@Acemeistre they should get taxed more too as they put more damage on the road than say a sedan. What's your argument?
10
I worked during the polar vortex here in Illinois. When it was -22° all night. I cannot imagine what it would have been like to have run out of battery in a traffic jam in that type of cold. At least with a gas powered vehicle someone can bring you some gas and you can heat your car. They can't bring you electricity. Even with a generator it's going to take time. And during that time you're going to freeze. Literally. -22° is nothing to fool around with.

@williammeek4078 do you know literally anything about EVs? Because it's not common sense to buy one. They're more expensive, you have to buy a charging station for your home which is an even larger expense, charging them takes half an hour versus 5 minutes, their batteries explode, you need to replace your tires every 7 to 10,000 mi and there aren't very many charging stations anywhere in the world. It's not common sense to buy one. It's common sense to avoid buying one until they're actually more reliable.
6
I've noticed this tends to happen with anything that supposedly good for the environment and good for people. Same thing happened with solar panels. First there were subsidies from the government simply to buy them, then they would buy back any extra electricity you generated, now no subsidies and the extra isn't worth it. It's almost like this is just a way of starting a new industry. Get us all excited and happy for doing something good and then screw us over!
6
I work with truckers I'm not a trucker. One of the things I always found hilarious was the amount of people who would get a California run and stop right before California and do a handoff. At least 50% of the truckers have dealt with refused to be in California. They won't drive one foot across the border.
6
@mikepickford1 Denmark only has 5 million people. Their energy needs are very low so being able to use renewables is plausible. California has 39 million people. And it was designed around the car. People who want to compare California to a European country are stupid. The United States is a very different country than any country in Europe. Because we don't have the age and we have a hell of a lot more space.
5
Wow. That's some next level gaslighting. Yes your solar panels will work at night when there is no sun AKA solar. Trust me!
5
@DreDresChapters you do realize that Denmark and California are two very different places right? California is nine times the size of Denmark with seven times the population of Denmark. California was also literally designed around the car whereas Denmark was not. The concept of comparing any state in the United States to Denmark is moronic.
4
@hansemannluchter643 do you mean because they'll explode or what? Because if they run out of battery then they're fucked. It may only take 5 seconds to pour gas in a tank but it takes time to charge a battery.
4
@stevewest131 no. No it's not. All the ice cars are still working fine. In fact they run longer and faster than your toy. Because they're actually cars. Not to mention all of the other things that require motors. You might not want to take the brown acid.
3
@stevewest131 The idea that the US could ever turn its back completely on ICE vehicles is ridiculous. We were literally designed around the gas engine car. We wouldn't be able to survive on electric vehicles alone. The idea is absolutely laughable.
3
@robertkubrick3738 could you imagine if they actually tried to replace all diesel trucks in the trucking industry with EVS? An EV semi truck can only do two runs a day. An ICE semi can do between 5-10 a day. If we were to be reliant on EVS for shipping we'd be fucked.
3
That weight isn't just on their tires.
3
The one in my state can. You must live in California. The only state that I know of with rolling brownouts. And the only state pushing for EVS. Don't lump us all in with you. We're not California.
3
I don't enjoy driving. But I also don't enjoy being stuck in my house. I wouldn't mind giving up some of my personal freedom for the privilege of having a vehicle that gets me from my house to the grocery store and back without my having to pay any attention. So does my argument and validate yours? Or could we do both?
2
Or a toy. Toys come with batteries too! They're just Power Wheels for adults!
2
@AndyM-s8p They literally are always better. It takes less time to fill them, it's easier to maintain them, and they're lighter on the roads. They're literally always worse than ice vehicles when it comes to performance. You can pretend they're not but you're just lying to yourself.
2
@paulsimpson8990 do you know how the US ships all of its products? Semi truck. We don't really use trains as much as people like you think. Most of things are shipped on semi truck. And semi trucks cannot run EV. Not efficiently. It's just not possible. But go ahead and hold your breath.
2
And when it comes to the emissions what about the pollution that creating the battery causes in the first place. All of those emissions are wiped out from all of the pollution that it caused just to create the battery.
2
EVs are TOYS!
2
@Luka_3D that doesn't make any sense. By hauling around a heavier battery they can haul around less product. The people who hire them aren't hiring them to lug around a battery. They're hiring them to deliver product. When you deliver less product at one time you get paid less. So what you're saying is it's more economical for them to get paid less per job? No it isn't.
2
@mistersmacky Even then it still wouldn't make any sense. Because they'd still be hauling less product at one time. I'm not going to pay you as much as I would if you carried more product if you carry less. In fact I'm probably going to penalize your company for not being able to deliver all of my products in a timely fashion.
2
iscadean3607 to a degree yes. But it weighs a hell of a lot more than all of that stuff so it takes up more. It's like replacing a cherry with a watermelon.
2
iscadean3607 Tucker's work 14 hours a day. They deliver more than one delivery per day. If your one delivery seps the entire charge of your battery and you have to charge for 9 hours you're only able to work for 5 hours a day. Either you're not a trucker or you're from California.
2
@Luka_3D do the math. If I hire your company to deliver my products and it takes you five trips with a diesel engine and eight trips with an EV I'm going to pay you less if you have an EV if I hire you at all. Because I need my product to be shipped. I need the product to be at the store to be sold. If your vehicle cannot do that I'll hire a company that uses vehicles that can.
2
@Luka_3D Yes instead of adding a whole bunch of electric vehicles that run like crap to the electrical grid we'd rather leave it alone. Because it's actually working fine in most places that are not California. I live in Illinois and I have never had an issue with the power because of too much usage. And we run our air conditioning all summer long!
2
@markchapmon8670 and you can do that because everyone around you isn't doing that. If all of your neighbors were then you'd have a problem. You are right though. This idea that every state has an electrical grid problem without electric vehicles is just wrong. It's only California that has a severe electrical grid issue. And part of that problem is all of the electrical vehicles they have. So if your state starts developing a problem you are it.
2
This all makes sense if we all remember that WE are the carbon they want to reduce. 4:27 this man is why we can't have good things in the world. Who tests something out with a stick that fails and then uses their finger anyway?! No sympathy. 4:27 So Tesla just drops cars off in random parking lots and their customers are surprised that they're dirty? I'm surprised they're not broken into and stolen! There's a reason that you pick up your ordered car from the dealership. So the dealer can check on it and make sure it's working correctly and possibly even clean it for you. This is like getting a car through Amazon. Only I trust Amazon more! At least they deliver it to my house! Also I can drive my car perfectly while on half of a tank of gas. Why did he need to charge his car immediately when he saw he only had half of a battery? Do regular cars work better than EVs when they're on half? I guess so!
2
They just substitute one form of gas for another.
2
@jakthebomb and it still takes time for a battery to charge sweetie. My gas tank doesn't take any time to fill. And then I just start my car. 50 seconds easy. Hell I can even listen to the radio while I wait because my car still has power! How long will your car take to charge enough to start?
2
fladave99 from Reuters: The rules mandate 35% of the new cars sold be plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV), EVs or hydrogen fuel cell by 2026. That proportion will rise to 68% by 2030 and 100% by 2035. You were saying? I mean I guess you're right they're not mandates they're actual laws.
2
No they didn't. Because those cars that you used to chair still exist. We've got to stop thinking that changing something going forward affects the things from the past. They don't. You could still go buy an old Ford Capri. Just like I can still go watch old Star Wars. The new stuff doesn't destroy what already exists. Stop pretending it does!
2
I can't speak for other countries but here in the US we can't even leave chargers out in public because they have copper in them. None of us are going to stick that on our car and just leave it there. Especially not in the daytime. You know when people can see that it's just sitting there and steal it. It's 2024 if shit ain't nailed down it gets stolen!
2
Wait you're telling me using a common animal food product isn't a good idea in your automobiles? Well color me shocked!
1
Then go learn AI programming. An argument from incredulity is no argument at all.
1
I recently watched a video where a truck driver tried using an EV semi truck. He was only able to do one job in a day. It may have been two. Because of the amount of time it takes to charge those things and how little a charge they have. In a diesel truck he would have been able to get eight jobs done in a day. They want to take us back to the horse and buggy days!
1
@xpusostomos I find that laughable!
1
@fredfred2363 because this is their goal. They're trying to destroy modern society. They don't like we the people having so much power. They want to go back to a dictator or king or emperor type of situation. Rule from top down. Best way to do that is completely destroy society so people are looking to the wealthiest to help them. It's called the great reset.
1
@Goodkiwibloke so show us the math. If you're better than him show it to us. I have the feeling you're not going to.
1
@seanworkman431 these people have a goal of removing all carbon from the atmosphere. Just ask Apple!
1
@muten861 If everyone is going to be buying EVs then it's not just a few thousand. It's all of them. So if population grows then the amount of EVs grow meaning the strain on the electrical grid grows. You're an idiot.
1
That would actually work a lot better.
1
And thanks to democracy the mob rules! So who cares that the people voting against actual environmentally sound policies don't live around the environment?
1
"Donating" without your knowledge and against your will! It's kind of like how the Irish and Africans "volunteered" to work for the English in the 1700s.
1
Annette California somehow things they can manage it by like 20 30 or something. They can't even get electricity all the people who need it now.
1
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the beholder is a bigot according to climate change activists!
1
EVs had tye virtue signaling people because they could virtue signal and it was new technology so they gave it a shit load of wiggle room. But the novelty has worn off and it's not new technology anymore. So if the government wants to force us all to buy it I'm pretty sure even the left is going to be pissed. Because let me tell you most Anti-Fa members can't afford a $80,000 car. Just wait until they start going on protests at EV dealerships!
1
We are living in the timeline in which reality is considered misinformation. Don't you dare believe your own eyes over their propaganda!
1
Same reason woke Disney is making Star Wars and woke CBS is making Star Trek. Because they want to control the fans of said product. No one would buy this car if it was called something else. And Ford knows that. Just like Disney knows no one would watch their lesbian witches in space show if it wasn't called Star Wars and CBS knows no one would watch sheer fucking hubris if it wasn't called Star Trek.
