"One small step for humanity, one giant leap for a man"
176
Both Keystone cops lined up with each other too for a moment, in this instance if they hit eachother it wouldn't be worst result.
72
Which is patently false. I've been properly laid many times later than that.
35
I DON'T, he's too valuable to take that chance.
28
@Lukeevanshen OBVIOUSLY you don't know who he is, you will.
14
@Lukeevanshen You don't understand where wealth comes from there would be no Tesla nor SpaceX without him. Naturally it's a massive team of brilliant engineers and so on but the guy on the assembly line is the only replaceable element there....I bet many of them are going to be millionaires too or already are if they took advantage of TSLA perks. Tesla's Mission Statement from some 15 yrs ago is to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy (by a decade or more according to Elon, impossible to measure but not far off) this is a massive benefit to humanity in the form of health, wealth and quality of life. Soon the 'poor man' will be driving for 1/4 or less the price that's been constant since the 1920's. You don't know it yet or don't understand the significance but HE has turned the entire global auto industry in a radical new direction. Then there is the solar and home to utility scale electric storage, transformative coupled with wind and solar power. Fossil fuels are zombies, walking dead. HE cut access to low Earth orbit by 10X! For the 1st time ever, everyone will have access to internet everywhere on the planet and we all depend on satellites even if we forget. His billions are peanuts compared to the gains we collectively will benefit from HIS refusal to quit when anyone else on Earth would have. Simple facts.
13
Speak for YOURSELF.
11
They F'ed around and found out.
9
@Lukeevanshen You have a very limited perspective and the underlying assumption that there is a static economic pie and it's only how you slice it. That's intensely mindless. It is NOT a zero sum game. Wealth must be created by individuals before there is anything to spread around. NONE of that money came at the expense of all those things you mention, in fact the opposite those things are all directly or indirectly the primary beneficiaries. Having many billions in the RIGHT hands is the best thing that can happen to Earth and humanity.
8
Yeah this had nothing to do with the car if that's the case, it was human reckless behavior.
8
It's called weather, climate is about centuries not yrs.
8
There IS NO billionaire space race, it's a ONE MAN show. Bezos and Virgin "Galactic" (more like Virgin California) haven't even come close to orbit. None of the old dinosaur astronauts ever imagined this, they panned the idea instead, only Elon did along with Neil D. Tyson (tho he came around nicely later). Credit to NASA for funding SpaceX when they needed it most, by now they have taken over global low Earth orbital access.
8
Punk won't have the GUTS to do that again.
8
Finder: "He won't have the guts to do that again."
7
Yeah I'm pretty sure all dems are suicidal. Sure glad I live far from any cities and grow my own food.
7
As fatalities approach zero for autonomous, and they will sometime this decade, you might reconsider. This is not a Tesla story so far, it's a reckless human story.
6
Quite the "dining experience" for sure, pricy for someone.
6
Small town especially can be like that (not sure their sitution but...). I grew up in very small isolated American town with a totally brutal renegade PD.
6
40,000 die every yr on American roads, this is ONLY mentioned because it's Tesla, never mind it was apparently driven in extremely reckless fashion. Truth is Tesla is the safest car on the road and AP makes it vastly more safe still.
6
@francismuiruri9064 I tend to agree except this is US targeted news, if it was Japanese or Australians they'd probably tally the locals only too.
5
No they aren't, it was far worse a century ago, this is all about manufactured media hype. LOOK at the darn data.
5
It's what ordinary forest fires look like you moron.
5
Yes if you are around another decade.
5
And the devastation caused by media induced fear and shutdowns will be with us for decades. Pathetic and entirely avoidable.
5
@kylereese4822 How do you know? It can't operate even with the seat belt off, they'd have to monkey with the system. We don't know if AP was activated. Likely a drunk driver who fled the scene.
5
We don't know if the driver was drunk and fled the scene but if there was no driver in the drivers seat they had to go to some pains to fool the car into thinking a driver is there, AP won't function without a driver in the DRIVERS seat. We don't even know if AP was active yet. It's not a Tesla or autonomous story, it's a reckless driver story.
5
This is not a Tesla story, it's a reckless driver story, possibly a drunk who left the scene or idiots who somehow fooled the car into thinking a driver was in the drivers seat. Car will not continue to drive if you even remove the driver's seatbelt, it will slow down and stop with emergency flashers on.
5
SoCal hit 134F back in the 1930's, today NOT near a record.
5
@rebeldoherty5432 Seems no one innocent was seriously injured, that's all that matters.
5
Boy howdy, I'm accelerating the move toward self sufficiency that I started a decade ago. Government ineptitude and media manipulation of the masses will result in starvation if not in the USA certainly in dozens of other countries.
4
Roach Dogg JR Apparently it was accidental as it started in vacant building next to it. But is it wrong to burn down something as evil and vile as a Christian representing object? Anyway it's all part of God's plan.
4
@cantrun5491 Obviously God is not happy with Christianity.
4
"My bod my choice"...unless it's about Covid vacc or Capitalistic acts between consenting adults, then Dems place zero value on individual rights.
4
One death in a state of 40 million, more die per hr on the road everyday. This rain is exactly what we need here.
4
What more do you propose? Nuclear war?
3
It's a reckless driver story as far as we know, not about Tesla at all.
3
Not from my perspective in far N. Commifornia, not shocked but news to me. (Y do I avoid SoCal?)
3
Situation normal, droughts are not new.
3
@gregorius3339 HUGE help, there's always some problems in the flood plains and a few poorly designed neighborhoods which is all popular propaganda has any interest in. We can't thrive in perpetual drought and this will go long way to ending several yrs of dry.
3
@jamescoleakaericunderwood2503 Very few have other than barns and such, and most that do build on naturally or artificially elevated spots. Probably only a handful of homes in the entire state had water on the floor.
3
This is a reckless driver story, has nothing to do with Tesla *so far*, we don't know if AP was active or if the driver was drunk and fled.
3
A family that completely failed to instill self control or accountability into dead punk and his sis. I don't suffer for them.
3
The number that the virus kills will be trivial compared to the 100's of millions who die of starvation from media manipulation/fear and inept government panic attacks.
3
Obviously God's not happy with these goddamned barbaric religions.
3
@andygreat423 Sort of appears to be a ladder right there on cell tower.
3
Scrap all military aircraft, none of them are "safe" compared to your keyboard. Get some perspective.
3
No telling how many lives were spared by it's performance in and out of hot zones relative to a chopper, which BTW, crash all the time.
3
IDK but not hearing from my fearless "leader" Kim Jong Newsom is a reprieve.
3
Situation normal, this is nothing. Modest temps and minimal fires for this time of yr.
3
Trump had nothing to do with it, thank Elon Musk who is a thousand X more intelligent and a million X more productive .
