chief tp Pardon some misconceptions/presumptions. Plastic is inevitable, cheap plastic with lousy tactile buttons, poor layout, cheap FEELING and easy to break is not necessary, but it's not free to do it well either. It's a GM after all. It ain't a BMW. You know a hell of a lot more than I about your Caddy. I still think you should quick check and clean the sunroof rubber seals FIRST as that might fix it. Some times leaf fragments, pine needles or whatever stuck on the seals can cause leaks, also lubrication helps them mesh(rubber specific lube). Start with the cheap and easy if you don't know better is my strategy. (without knowing the details of your leaks nor car)

chief tp Good to hear that, GM get's it half right once a decade or two. Lol. I got an old Chevy 1-ton service rig now and had an older one before that, they served me well. First was prehistoric, 1966, 327 with Hooker headers and cam was a great motor for it's time.
1
chief tp Yup. Gotta be flex. If the price is right it's good to go. Admire ability to adjust to circumstances.

I'd be at home there....not to say I want to be there long. Drove '66 Chevy 1-ton dualy for 20 yr.s as a heavy service rig, gotta say the steer box need not be quite that loose. Sure they are sloppy from the factory but....tighten/replace links and box. It's hard to drive with 20 degrees free play in the steering wheel. LOVE the memories of youth. :D Prefer my BMW M3 today hahahaha!

Left lane camping--"Always seems to be a Prius." :D I'd say it's always someone who doesn't take driving seriously, which includes anyone driving a Prius. It should be legal to shoot out their tires after 15 seconds. Or at least to 'gently' bumper push them up to speed if your in a truck or bigger car.

@terrylutke Currency should be based on GDP not potatoes or it's equivalent--gold, or any other single arbitrary asset. The reason the dollar has value is folks have confidence (not faith) of the future productivity of America and reasonable currency management such that they can trade dollars for real items and services in the future.

@ItsTheNada Anything a tuner boy gets ahold of is totaled even before it's crashed IMO. I have ZERO desire to trade my E92-M3 for an EV but I expect it to be my last ICE car, heck I'll likely keep it as long as I can get fuel for it. For me it's sort of a replacement for the crotchrockets of my youth, no EV will ever remotely serve that role.

I got news for you, when it comes to cars and trucks older IS WORSE, much worse, across the board.
1
@mister-amazing They review peasant mobiles too, this isn't one of those. Eventually the tech will trickle down tho, it always does.
1
@reedarvin7823 How can anyone believe in the company when the CEO is cashing out already while they are SO far from even breaking even? Peter taking a $0.3B salary is obscene at this point, he should be ALL IN, that means minimal salary and long term stock holdings instead.
1
@ButterfatFarms So you haven't driven one.
1
Wade H Yes 2% or less is close to zero, in fact it's BETTER than ZERO, 2% is considered about ideal....but that's over your head obviously. Sober up and get a job, or get some skills and get a better job, whining won't help, it's why you are destitute.
1
Uncle Scam If both trucks were bran new would it be a toss up between them? Is the new one not significantly better than the previous? And how about options? 2% ave. inflation means 35k in 2010 dollars is equivalent to nearly $40k in today's dollars. But the inflation index is not ONLY pickup trucks, it's also things like electronics, notice how TVs have become a fraction of the cost they were ten yr.s ago for example. I bet you'd take your new truck over the older one without much thought...it's not apples to apples comparison....is it?
1
Uncle Scam Stealth inflation as in fantasy inflation? If that were the case your previous Ford truck was worth about $90k in today's dollars, hmm? I won't ask you where you get that silly number because obviously YOU DON'T KNOW nor care...fits your preconceived notions so you repeat it, right?
1
Get a better job you foolish child and quit blaming others for you personal failure. Obviously you don't care about reality and that's a problem for you, not me.
1
Your obviously an ignorant child who can't even say where your claimed, arbitrary numbers come from. I don't care if you wash the bathrooms in a bank. hahaha
1
Stop watching videos and GET TO WORK!
1
Government mandates will be irrelevant because no on will want an ICE in a few yrs.
1
As long as you stick to a boring Toyota or Honda that's fine. (or don't care if your car lasts)
1
Toy is floundering w H2 fool cells and obsolete hybrids, no clear direction. Yeah they did good last century to recent times, but they are screwed, BEVs are clearly the future and they aren't prepared.
1
He's betting it's better to be ejected and die than die inside that wadded up tin can.

Got my sub, well done.

@lexburen5932 Peter's salary is public information, look it up. His approach is exactly opposite of Elon Musk who took zero salary and was only to be rewarded at all after key metrics of market cap and revenues were accomplished. Who of the two would U bet on? The one who is all in or the one who is taking as much as possible regardless of performance and results? Regardless--I wish Lucid well, they have some spectacular engineering, just not on MY dime. Last I looked they were losing some quarter million per car sold.
1
When wages were $4? The average price of gas in the USA over last 100 yr.s is around $2.50/gallon in today's dollars.
1
Impressive especially from a company that produces predominately garbage cars.
1
Several dozen obese porkers didn't like this vid. :D
1
Not only one of your longest but definitely one of your best IMhO. I like understated.
1
Great points.
1
@Mach141 Absolutely. In that case a minimal car is an investment in one's productive potential.
1
My only problem w the company is the CEO, he's deceptive and cashing out early, taking $0.3B salary this yr when they are FAR from break even is obscene. Peter is "all out" instead of all in, I don't think he expects it to survive the decade so I can't either.
1
@realme4107 What did I say that was incorrect? Are foolish enough to be invested in Rawlinson?? IDK why else you'd be emotional about this.
1
@realme4107 You gotta be kidding. "Make the company look broke", you mean prospective 'investors' and customers are that stupid? I guess some are, the bell curve is real.
