Remember when Tesla was criticized by Wall St. for investing in charging network? (but of course the criticized everything Elon and Tesla)
71
Rumor has it that Tesla trucks can even go UP hill and across the flats.
56
WAIT! Gordon doesn't even have a fraction of a star?? :D
41
Farley seems to be the only candid, honest legacy auto CEO. Good dude.
35
Gotta love Joe's increasingly open disgust with Johnson.
24
G search is also corrupt as hell.
19
You did it Marry, you drove GM into a concrete wall.
18
Indeed 2018 was the inflection point for me, when I decided to stop trading TSLA and back up the truck in 2019 for a serious investment.
16
Gordon knows he's not a clown, he's THE Clown , props to him for not taking self seriously....no one else does. Baaahahaha
15
Remember when Japanese production was predicted to take over the known universe?
12
I really hope to see the T semi produced in significant numbers soon, it's proof of concept for an entire new market segment. One might argue Tesla cars are an emotional purchase, but business is ruthlessly economic by necessity.
11
"'To rapidly advance we need to break some things.'" SpaceX--ONLY in America. :D
11
GM had over half the entire USA market entering the '70's and all the Big 3 were offering nothing but crap cars. We needed Japanese imports to kick Big 3 in the butt.
10
Ironically looks like Tesla will be biggest component of saving German auto industry.
10
@Enrique Thiele They have scary debt that will necessarily grow substantially in most cases. I bet they don't get 30% the ROI either.
9
S3XY are already good taxis, they can start w those if they want. Strategy to implement and grow a taxi fleet will be the interesting part.
9
Good to hear that. Are you expecting to retire this decade?
9
Don't forget that each bot should replace 3 or more workers.
9
News out of Europe--apparently they are fast tracking autonomous adoption, we may see FSD in Euro in a yr or so.
8
Spiegel clearly pulled those round numbers out of nothing but guesses. I guess we can dismiss his predictions forever more.
8
He should take whatever little change he has left over (can't be much) and buy TSLA like crazy, by decades end he may be back to even with 10 to $20T market cap.
7
70% of all the aluminum ever mined/refined is still in use today, the same will be true for batt elements in the future but more like 90%.
7
I love how they are vertically integrated on most everything that really counts but use Merc signal switches and such that have already been perfected long ago, no need to reinvent those.
7
Are you asking if it's faked, CGI or something? That would be criminal deception and just plain stupid, equally dumb to even question.
7
Don't be shocked if they top 1M production this yr.
7
I have a broken BMW wheel and aluminum suspension parts that might...uhm...well you know.
7
I really despised the yoke initially, "half a steering wheel", but a review from a practicle thinking mom sort of changed my mind, she had good reasons to much prefer it for her daily use model X, including the turn signal controls.
6
The yoke is rubbish for DRIVING, it may look cool but I have to be able to spin a round wheel in my hands. To some--rectangular road tires and wheels would look cool too.
6
It would be meaningless otherwise. Did you think it was a feat to not be worn out in 500 miles??
6
Given thumbs up to about half a dozen copies of this already. :D :D
6
Tesla should eventually come up with a "police special" that would (naturally) include performance and top end limitations to give the rest of us an edge, they don't need to go that fast anyway.
6
@TecnamTwin I just tossed in that bit of history as reminder to us all, Ipace given ton of accolades in the press, car of the yr or whatever, and Chanos talking "Porsche is coming".
6
My grandparents had over 40 'servants' in Philippines. (cooks, drivers, landscapers, cleaners....putting them thru college....)
6
Or HUD? At least both options available after market tho not quite the same as OEM integrated.
5
How about simply charging users of other brands an extra 30% say.
5
I accumulated cash in recent months and ready to start buying again with TSLA on top of my list despite having "TOO much" of it already. :D
5
Reality is beginning to sink in on Wall Street.
5
Jim Farley continues to impress me, honesty and candor are rare among legacy CEOs.
5
Some apparently are, Polestar for one. (u might say that's not a Chinese brand but it is to me)
5
@brunoheggli2888 OH!...maybe you meant small in terms of debt! All the legacies are drowning in debt while Tesla has essentially zero debt and excess cash.
5
Indeed and contributes to their preparedness to take on anyone anywhere. They put a stake in the center of Asian car mfg/market then in the heart of Euro mfg.
5
If I'm any judge of character, and I am , Gordon doesn't believe anything he's saying at this point, it's just his calling card now, he's got nothing other than to be the most negative, animated clown CNBS can find. In a way I'm beginning to admire his unavoidable humility, he seems to have a sense of humor about it all.
5
Truck driver shortage in US has been something of a multi-decade thing.
5
They should sell it just slightly lower than current prices, make 60% margins for a few yrs. 😁
5
IDK if F and GM will go under but they will likely be severely diminished, but their high debt and legacy obligations--pensions, dealers and such may finish them off. Either way it's good.
5
Similar--only time ever I literally regretted betting ranch on TSLA was when they revealed it, got over that in couple days, gradually liked it BUT didn't expect all these advancements, just a new look doesn't motivate me, content does.
5
As TSLA long term long--I smile at the delays and delusions of legacies.
5
@pauljmeyer1 Uhmm...yeah sort of. Ford was sort of and asshole tho and not near as impressive a person in general.
5
Why does Jim Farley of Ford always remind me of an all hype no substance football coach?
5
Yeah...what fires? Was there a total of 3 globally over a decade while gas cars roast that many per day in America alone?
