  18. Did some contracting for a Nevada brine Li producer decades ago...did little follow up on the site/company couple yrs ago and they had just shutdown with no restart date! NEXT I hear they are coming back on line, someone made a bad call on Li demand/pricing or they'd have been stockpiling instead of shuttering.

Tangent: USA corn ethanol really is that ludicrous--approx the same energy inputs as recovered from alcohol created, diesel tractors, trucking, fermentation/extraction, fertilizers and then there's the environmental degradation, horrific economics, etc. That can only happen with government market distortions. Naturally my California has equally brilliant H2 for fuel program....all these things take on a life of their own and difficult to impossible to stop.

  30. @@OrwellNailedIt I intend to be grid independent in several yrs as well. Everyday use isn't enough, grid needs to meet peak demand. As a Commifornian paying excessive rates with an increasingly inept corrupt Leftist monopoly, I have little confidence in policies keeping pace. For what it's worth and I'm not clear on the time frame, let's say 15 to 20 yrs, Elon expects 3X increase in total electric demand, presumably mostly from the grid.

  31. IDK how Tesla will do it in China, they can't take data out of country and AI compute isn't allowed in to China. Some chips are apparently making to China via black market but Tesla won't go that rout.

One can trade anything but let me give a snapshot distinction between gambling and investing--I followed Elon and Tesla closely for a decade before finally gaining confidence, conviction enough to INVEST my hard earned capital on it in 2018, it's NOT EASY nor fast money. Think about it.

As for the competition we've been hearing that for half a decade and SO FAR there is only one, the Polstar 2, can they mass produce it I'm not sure. ALL of the rest are laughable OR in different categories. But we need competition, there is room for many. TSLA could get cut in half and I'm still sitting pretty. How about YOU? How much have YOU GAINED recently? Possibly you should be listening and learning instead of spouting off? Just a thought!

But hope is not an investment strategy I could be wrong, sort of hope I am, but my assessment is they are riding the wave created by Tesla, milking it for all it's worth and I have zero EVIDENCE to suggest otherwise at this time. They have demonstrated essentially nothing at this point. I looked for it. The fact (not aimed at you necessarily) that the NKLA fans are clearly dominated by wishful thinking kids new to markets who don't know TSLA from Bitcoin other than the current price trajectory is not encouraging. Bottom line for me--the more young folks investing (not just gambling) in markets the better for all of us. I hope they don't get crushed and forever after discouraged from stocks. When one of us gains a lot all of us gain a little. :D
