No valet will ever drive my BMW, sorry, ride along to the parking spot but YOU don't drive it.

Gosh I think E46 deserves an 8 or 9....I own an E92 M3 and think it's in same ballpark, I like it better, but E46 is timeless style so properly understated! Truly ICONIC.

The cam should KNOW when it needs washing and do it automatically.

You'll love it. I have a near identical one to featured here, 2011. Only purchased 2 yr.s ago with 44k miles, from moderate climate state and crucially--ONE previous owner. Many have 4 or 5 previous owners, to me that means no one "owned it" they only rented.

David Lutz: Be an Alfa mechanic.

Maybe in that instance but Cali is running people out due to excess regulations and expensive, wasteful practices. Too much nanny state and too much bureaucratic empire building. The good thing about having 'states rights' is that there is automatically competition between states, when one becomes excessively onerous to do efficient business in (for example) others will take those businesses and tend to compel the loser state to clean up it's act. And we get to see how an experiment in one state works out before it becomes more widely adopted.

William Crawford Cars are in general and this one a lot more than average. I didn't even think about it until my home was paid off along with everything else and you can't afford it if you can't pay cash up front IMO, with significant reserves leftover. That's true for any car beyond bare necessity.

I must be a dinosaur but I've never been in a car and thought: "Gee if only it had a heated steering wheel!" I want leather interior option. Love how he compares it to my beloved BMW M3. HA! Well done Tesla.
5
Windshield is NOT flat!
5
NONE. No one ever got laid in that POS.
4
Carjackers everywhere: "Wanna stop a Rivian? NP just push that gear tunnel button on edge of bed, they are going NOWHERE, easy prey.
4
Totally simple and work well. I have come to like them a little more than the traditional style.
4
@SomeBartender Cool. Let us know how it goes I always like to hear the experiences of others with this car.
3
That tubular cage around CD changer in trunk is spectacular. lol (seriously tho)
3
Tatoum974 You must mean CO2 limits? That's true but manufacturers do have efficiency regulations. As far as other types of emissions California is about as tough as anywhere I believe unless you own a diesel pickup then you can belch smoke constantly.
2
@I_luv_sharmutas It's not really an arm rest but a cover for the pass through door. Anyway how often do you see anyone in the back of one of these? I've only had more than one passenger a couple times in 2 yr.s.
2
The signal controls are good, I slightly prefer them over conventional, they just take a day to get accustomed to.
2
Still looks 'modern', or at least looks GOOD. (for what style is worth) Respect and RIP Honda.

813Productions Back in the 70's and 80's; unleaded gas and emissions controls were "the end of the muscle car", yup I'm old 'nuff to remember, those wonderful pre emissions 350 to 450hp cheap American (mostly) sedans with bad brakes, rubbish suspensions and ridiculously loose steering were "GONE FOREVER!" (snivel snivel) They were a lot of fun except when they crashed. But then stuff like THIS happened, lol. Proper brakes, decent suspension, properly insane hp..... Next the EVs are going to steal the drag race.
2
While not using it as who'd want to. 😄 Other than occasional novelty which is way cool.
2
Exactly. It only changes throttle response, reduces "resolution", I don't use it but can see why some might like it.
2
I'd pay you 1k right now. Might be OK for a planter, dunno what else I'd do with it.
2
Not interested in owning. Much prefer 3 series even if I could afford this land yacht.
2
I pay fairly close attention to all Tesla competitors and none of them offer similar value to the Model 3. Taycan real range is 200 miles.
2
He's full of it, they work just fine and feel good.
2
Too bad there is not a QUIET exhaust option for when you don't want to be a child and disrupt the neighbors or you get tired of the racket on a long road trip?

This is the first Doug mobile that made me think: "Hmmm...I could buy that."
1
I've gone over more challenging ground in my '73 Ford Pinto.
1
The "Spirit of Ecstasy" should auto retract over 100 mph to let you know and reduce drag. :D
1
In the Caddy tradition--restyle a cheesy Chevy and double the sticker price for American geezers who don't know any better.
1
Nice upgrade from my old Dina 330 coupe. Smaller is better. Biggest concern is lack of suspension options, sometimes you want it softer after 7 hr.s on the road or a long day at work.
1
@Justin_GFM IDK--maybe if you're going to say something that stupid it should at least be original? Just a thought.
1
The name Maserati once meant something, not surprising it is now rubbish sold to those seeking a previously prestigious NAME only. It seems this car appeals to the same sort of fools who would want a POS H2 Hummer.
1
Take it mudding and roll it a couple times, THEN it would be cool. (Good review)
1
Very entertaining good review!
1
BUT: Is it tossable??
1
@JoostShino Coal is dying in the USA too, mainly due to economics, meanwhile Tesla is taking down petroleum globally. There are advantages to nations where free enterprise can thrive.
1
@Swedester Wind and solar to be more precise.
1
@Swedester Recently wind and solar have been the biggest segment for new generation globally I believe. Only China continues to build coal plants in a big way while in America coal has been severely diminished in last decade, 1st due to cheap fracked NatGas and now renewables.
1
$80 for an 80 cent warning triangle, no big surprise there.
1
I very rarely use cup holder in mine. I like that BM has consistently ignored cup holder critics, if that's your priority you don't deserve such a car IMO.
1
Who ever has passengers in the rear of these anyway? I've had mine for 2 yr.s and only ONCE had anyone in the back.
1
I expect a race engine in a lot less car than that.
1
NO punk kid valet drives my car EVER. I can park and jog on my own two feet thank you.
1
Turn signal controls, every commonly used detail is NOT trivial. Love how BMW thumbs their nose at cup holders for decades...get Prius granola dude!
1
It's pretty good and who's racing anyway? Not me. It's about the overall experience, turbos sort of suck (pun) in some ways. Low end torque is lacking but revs take care of that and a linear response is just better.
1
A tad more ponies than my 1982 Yamaha 750. No wonder the cops couldn't catch us kids.
1
To unlock the car you simply grab the door handle with fob in your pocket. Much prefer my all leather seats. Armrest on drivers side slides forward and back.
1
Still looks 'modern', or at least very good. Respect and RIP Honda.
1
We'd have mom driver crack it a few inches so we could toss bits of farm debris out for following cars, stuff like chunks of alfalfa 'bricks', and watch it bounce into or over the cars behind.
