  3.  @rlsedition  In a way but maybe that's OK. Ultimately for me form follows function to a large degree, in this case that depends a lot on how one will use it. Most seem to want it as a fashion statement just as pickups typically are now. For ME a truck is crap on the road they are only for off road/dirt roads and hauling a load.

  7.  @hddun  Honda and Toy produced the most reliable utilitarian vehicles of all time. Do you suppose that had something to do with it? And when were the Takata airbags recalled??...10 or 15 yr.s after car was sold? I'm not sure they follow through on cars that old. Did they report the same for BMW and all the other brands that also had airbag recalls?

  8.  @hddun  Anecdotes aside yes H. and Toy. set the reliability bar, prior to some crappy auto transmissions, etc. I wasn't thinking about trucks but mainly econoboxes...utilitarian. Trucks are only good for two things--off road and hauling a load, most I know use them as such but for most Americans they are grocery getters and simply a fashion statement. Tesla is an entirely different animal altogether, very pleased to have finally gone long TSLA starting early last June after watching the drama from the sidelines for yr.s.

A high school friend had access to his mom's early Honda in '78 and it was also remarkable for how quick and efficient it was compared to the garbage out of Detroit. Yeah it was tiny but it sure had it's place. Remember how little we had to choose from back then due to trade barriers to subsidize Detroit largess and laziness? Big 3 was NOT enough competition and still isn't. Very grateful that we have so many good options today. And why not be "proud" of what Japanese or Germans offer, are we so primitive and tribal that we can only be proud of something that originated (if only in design) within some arbitrary borders?

  10. Market Cap says it ALL ultimately. Price is truth. Simple and all encompassing. TSLA is valued as a tech Co., not remotely valued as an auto manufacturer. I welcome counter views but Betsy is sort of lame here, this program takes chances on a lot commutators and some of them don't pan out well, that's OK....Betsy probably won't be invited back.

  15. Cramer has been consistent. Always praised the cars but recommended viewers to "stay on the sidelines" for the stock...it's just too difficult to value. Don't buy it nor short it. Professional trader/investor territory, or IMO, a small speculative bet for retail investors. Cramer has also always both praised and made fun of Elon as he does here. You understand the difference between loving the product and CEO versus loving the stock? Too very different things.

  27.  @NickRussoTV  Wrong masters degree if they can't find quality work sounds to me, or maybe they aren't willing to relocate? Starting out at least one must be willing to move to where they are in demand. National housing and associated labor shortage. $36 in Bay Area is crap, should be getting double or more although Cali punishes us for employing ppl and for high wages. I know many cases like this--relatively green welder (tho with his own service truck, etc, not free to operate) making well over $120/hr....gross not net naturally.

But let's imagine your dream state was so repressive as to somehow eliminate even IOU notes, at least when you come to confiscate my produce it will take a truck and I can make sure it's all rotten, distribute spoiled fruit and potatoes to the lazy. I won't be a slave to your toxic ill considered ideals and the rest of your kind will starve long before I do. Those of us who create wealth will trade between eachother and let you looters die, sure we will be far poorer too so that will make you 'happy' I suppose.

I will do most anything to assist an individual struggling to succeed, to prosper and achieve any worthy goal, nothing unique it's human nature to help. If there is a selfish side to it, it's that I gain a little when others gain a lot. I love to see success around me and I DO! But when I'm told "equality = justice" in the context of wealth, I'm going to push back. Equality under the LAW absolutely. Income tax within limits, fine. Yes we all rely on public infrastructure, justice system, etc. But when I'm hearing "you have too much we will confiscate most of it", something to that effect--damn right I'm going to react harshly. Wealth is created by people before it can be extracted from them and we better not forget it or there won't be much for anyone or anything. Forced economic equality = poverty for all, you can't force someone to create a Tesla company, you can't even force them to do a good job tending a farm field without terrorizing and beating them constantly. Some degree of 'socialism' is necessary but when it becomes: "From each his ability TO each his need."....the definition of Communism, forced "equality", you have created hell on Earth. It may sound good on the surface to those who haven't thought it through but humanity is far too good for it. The best and brightest will become examples of mediocrity, you won't even know they are out there.

This time it's been the predictable implosion of the BEV bubble (look what it's done to Lucid, Rivian and the rest) plus China Covid, recession, inflation/high interest rates, etc. I care about the fundies and tho Tesla margins may well be trimmed for a yr or 2, we'll be fine, while the rest of the industry is whacked as they are drowning in debt and can't afford to reduce minimal margins. Tesla will emerge even more dominant. Tesla energy is just beginning to become significant, completely ignored by most everyone as it's been trivial previously, it's even more recession resistant as E-utilities provide unlimited demand for batt storage, similar for the semi truck...on and on.

  41. How many here have actually made the effort to examine the science and tried to understand it instead of just being spoon fed by popular media like CNBS? There's never been a time in my 60 yrs where reality wasn't sacrificed on the alter of revenue, drama, fear and/or politics, nor a time when reporters knew or cared anything about science. The data, trends, charts, comparing various greenhouse gasses, etc? Consensus is not science even when it's "scientific consensus", such consensus is wrong all the time, it's just a matter of degree.

Been driving for 45 yrs and never owned bran new car, never made payments, exception for a 1-ton service chassis crucial for business. Also DIY most everything, maintenance, etc. Last used car I bought cost me $45k cash but I can afford it after decades of driving econoboxs.

But you said it was 'destroying itself' which was silly even for that moment. It was still roughly on Elon's 2014 target of 500k cars delivered in 2020 and doing plenty otherwise right despite the struggles. 1000X?? Only in the minds of those who hadn't followed the story closely, MANY called it correctly and profited handsomely! That's what has supported the stock all these yrs.

  49.  @Economivision  Your expecting nearly a 4X crash? Anything is possible but I made a modest fortune betting against that sort noise since $38. It was the increasingly shrill shorties that gave me the final dose of conviction to bet against them. I expect at least a $4T market cap before 2030. And although I timed my entry with intense focus I don't expect to repeat such an alignment of factors ever again....timing the market is generally a fools errand.
