It is not setting up a state church, which is the only thing the 1st Amendment forbids, an "establishment of religion". If it was forbidding any gov't association with religion, why did the founders hold church services at the capitol? Why did they invite Christian pastors to say the opening prayer?

If you can't handle criticism, you don't belong on the right in the first place. It is the same thing that makes me wary of people that "leave the left" to get out of the circular firing squad. It's all well and good to leave the left, but do it for legitimate reasons and values, not just because they were too mean to you.

  34.  @ModerateMiddle  Except that poverty does not correlate with criminality. From what I understand, the greatest indicator for kids becoming criminals is fathers in the home. And that does put the spotlight on the black demographic. Also, there is nothing particularly bad with redneck culture, unless you have some serious data that I haven't seen. Or perhaps you are saying country music, Nascar, and broken down vehicles in the yard are a crime.
