Would have been funny if when you said “it’s been 3 years since we’ve done this” and Dylan pretended to have forgotten everything and became tone deaf.

I know what skill Steel Panther would say is the most important skill to master. "to look bitchin"

Should check out the documentary about his life “Jaco” done by Metallica bass player Robert Trujillo. It’s terrific.
48
How could you leave out Heart? Pretty much every song has both.
32
His bass work is underrated. Understated but so memorable.
27
Says a lot about today's music that we feel the need to give bonus points to a song for using an actual instrument.
20
But do you think anyone under 40 listens to the beatles? When our generation dies, the Beatles will go the route of every other hit maker. Whoever was top of the charts in the 30's has no audience anymore and the same will be true of everyone else. Music tastes change.
17
The episode 20 had me confused. lol
15
That’s true but how much airtime is Satriani getting these days? Satriani, Vai, PG of Mr Big... were selling loads of albums and had hit songs that got airtime. The average person today has no idea who they are now. So something else has changed in the landscape.
14
@wpochert mediocre vocalist? FFS music's not for you mate.

I've bought quite a few guitars on reverb and ebay and the best advice is to ask lots of specific questions. That way if its not as advertised especially with ebay they'll refund you 100% with no trouble. I recieved a damaged guitar and the guy tried to claim I damaged it on purpose to get a refund. Contacted ebay and they refunded me straight away no hassle. Had 1 from reverb where I asked about the frets and was told they were in great shape when it arrived they weren't. But because I had specifically asked about it and was misinformed I got $150 knocked off to have the frets dressed. It's my favorite playing guitar.

@Datanditto Youve missed the whole point of the series. Its not about "This is the greatest song ever written" necessarily. Its about great idea's in songs of different types of music. Doing this song in particular hes able to get first hand response of how the song was written because of his familiarity with this band.

Eye of the tiger 100000000%

I’ve been asking since episode 1. Maybe Morrisey is a famous blocker?
8
Kingdom Of Music it’s sad music. The guitarist is amazing, Johnny Mahr. Completely unique sound.
8
The funny part is I was totally thinking just before that "watch him call Seal and ask him" lol
8
Unfortunately hes been attacked a few times for things he's said taken out of context. He did an interview and made a joke and people wanted to burn him at the stake thinking he was serious.
7
Its silly. Like the song or not you can learn from it and thats the point of the series. People get hung up on the "great" of the title like this is some ranking or award show.
7
It’s a shame how expensive guitar equipment in general was back then. I desperately wanted an ADA MP1 and it was like $1200 I think. The minimum wage was like $3 per hour. Everything was just so far out of reach for most people. I wonder how many musicians were lost due to cost?
7
@hyamsosnow3973 the Joe Satriani one against Coldplay Viva la Vida was also totally justified. The song was blatant clone.
7
Tele's are really uncomfortable for me. Without the body contour like every other guitar has its just clumsy.
6
Matters to me for guitars. I like Ibanez guitars. I like the necks & love the old 80’s colors. If another brand copied the necks then maybe I’d be interested but I’d rather stick with them.
6
I love Gregg. Hes such a fun dude with great stories.
6
But would they get airtime? Would they even get signed with what labels are looking for. I just think it would be near impossible with all the road blocks.
5
But none of them listen to the beatles so when our generation dies nobody will be able to name any Beatles songs either.
5
@tonypapas9854 they'd be the same as the roling Stones. Are the bigger than Taylor now?
5
Can't wait for the new album.
5
Gordon Beck do some basic research, it’s all over the Internet. Vida lá vida or whatever it’s called is a straight rip of a joe satriani track. They paid out a big settlement. Rich talked about the “similarities”
4
@noobslayer7564 do they use metal bats now?
4
That song always makes me sad. Knowing it was his last song.
4
tiscover I’ll fix that. He’s a plagiarizer
3
Gordon Beck hard to argue accident in this case. It’s blatantly the same. Check out the video on it. The way the guy reacted says a lot for me. You can’t help but hear how they are the same yet he didn’t say “my bad” or “I don’t know how that happened” just refused to admit any wrong doing. Says he did it intentionally to me.
3
Should change it to "If only these songs were marginally interesting at all"
3
Andy M like who? How many songs have you listened to? In my experience people that say that have only heard 1 or 2 songs by any individual player.
3
Skoora I don’t think you’ve listened to the shrapnel players if you think Marty Friedman is the only one with his own voice. Becker, Gilbert, Moore, Kotzen, Firkins... nobody sounds like any of them.
3
The advantage to using a head stick tuner is you can leave it on while playing and adjust tuning on the fly when needed.
3
Expecting the audience is stupid not just a music or print media thing but it's also rampant in film and TV. I've listened to a lot of interviews with creative people in film and TV and the bug wigs are always trying to make them spell everything out in neon lights. Yet the good ones say no, and what do you know? Those shows do really great.
3
Do you think anyone will be listening to the Beatles either? Do you think anyone listens to the top charters of the 30's?
3
Unless you're Oasis, then being an a-hole becomes part of your charm.
3
Kingdom Of Music cool. They do all kinds of styles of music. They’re super diverse so if you listen too a couple songs that you maybe don’t like try a few others.
2
@nickepic1863 3) every lable will give you the same crappy offer
2
Jason Fan Club no not this song but he’s don’t it a couple times I think.
2
David Harrell maybe not necessarily a bad song but maybe choices that may have made the song stronger from a producers perspective.
2
I agree 100%. I use 9-46 tuned to E and 10-52 tuned to Eb or D. I dont like the wound strings all floppy.
2
Shout out to your mom laying down the rhythm track. That’s so cool. Very jealous.
2
Riccardo Fioretti I agree that it nit a great song but in no way is he claiming it will be. Just that it has interesting ideas.
2
Shout out to your mom laying down the rhythm track. That’s so cool. Very jealous.
2
The carpet comment made me laugh. My grandmother totaly did that. Had this horrible red and black movie theater looking carpet over these nice wood floors but had no clue until she passed and my uncle pulled it up.
2
You haven’t listened to many then because there are loads of great solos that served the songs brilliantly, or you just don’t like that type of music and are letting it effect your opinion.
2
Daniel Hedger a lot of those solos aren’t even part of songs. They’re live performances where the whole point is to show off just like a drum solo.
