  9. The fight was fireworks :-) Gotta appreciate both Nick and Lawler. Nick threw 339 strikes in around 11 minutes, which was around 100 more strikes than what Valentina threw against Murphy in 4 rounds and close to what Alex threw against Ortega in 5 rounds...

  13.  @sleeperino3054  There were less belts back then and weight classes, and one fighter dominated for a long time, not to mention that the fighters had to fight almost every week. Imagine Floyd fighting twice every month and with fighters in their primes all the time who all were in his weight class, 15-50+ rounds instead of only 12 rounds, and etc...

  21.  @sleeperino3054  Hahaha... No way Floyd would be able to beat Joe Louis, Walcott, Moore, Armstrong, Marciano, Liston, Patterson... Willie Pep, Sandy Sandler, Ezzard Charles, Joey Maxim, Fullmer, Gavilian, Perez and amongst others would have given him a really tough fight... Ray Robinson and Lamotta and others would have been too big for Floyd... Let's not forget that you had to train for 15-50+ rounds back then and fight almost every week... And the trainers back then were much better in regards to boxing skills... Fighters become better with time due to science and nutrition though...

Think he would have won an extremely boring decision if he had stayed with Henri Hooft instead of Trevor Wittman who made him stay in an ortodox stance during the whole fight, which was weird when Edwards during his winning streak has had problems with southpaws during the standup...

  37. This is just lame and technology used in wrong, lazy ways when everyone should know and try to understand better through knowledge within the spirit, soul and the holy scriptures.   42.  @saisusato2871  You're absolutely right. And it's a tragedy that most people today don't know about Willie Pep, Len Wickwar, Harry Greb, Mickey Walker, Ray Robinson, Jack Dempsey, and etc... If there were more belts and weight classes back then; Willie Pep, Len Wickwar, Harry Greb and Ray Robinson would have had over 100 title defenses :-) Fighters tend to become better with time, but it has been a slow prosess in boxing, but a really fast one in MMA that keeps evolving...
