yeah, TYT seems mixed in quality. I've nearly said "no more" but they have a lot of good stuff like this interview. Now, MOXnews I avoid completely and totally for false titles on their videos. TYT is valuable, if flawed.

yeah 600 sounds right

make it a green house -- Jill or Gary :)
1
agree, and it's so nice to have the actual emails up on screen long enough to read and ponder... data to the people!
1
Bush... "I served as the presiden... er, governor... of Florida." haha.
1
Sorry but this reporter is not very up on her facts, and doesn't seem to try very hard. Gary Johnson is not a "career politician" -- he was governor for 8 years, and before and after that he was a businessman. Before, he built a construction company ground up to over 1000 workers. After, he was CEO of a cannabis edibles corporation. I don't mind people missing facts if they are trying to get them right... but this kind of mis-leading 'analysis' sends me right off to look for a more objective source.

4b is a small part of our budget, which was 4t. That's 1/1000th of our government budget. Say I make 30k a year... it's like me donating $30 to something. That said, I could probably do better than donating $30 to my neighbor to buy weapons from me.
1
@ricosauve5 That's even better! I'll sell an arm to him for $33 and make a cool $3. Call it a peace commission. Vote for me!
1
yeah, try ask an economist "how much money is there?"
1
To the extent that companies can externalize costs, it's not a free market. it could be capitalist, but not very free and informed in the sense of Adam Smith.
1
lol. A pardon is exactly that, revoking the sentence of convicted criminal. That's what it means. It's like asking "how can you ride a bike?" That's what bikes are for.
1
Agree, and I'd note that FDR was able to get a buncha top rich guys on board for the New Deal. Somehow he convinced them it was in their interest to have a functional economy.
1
Every time I hear phrases like "total destruction" I tune out. Ok Bob Marley said it in a song and I still listen "sometimes it seems like total destruction, the only solution" but when you look at his life he was a builder not a destroyer. I suppose if it was done in a phased manner a system could be destroyed over time without destroying the people who depend on it for life...
1
Agree the competition for jobs logically has to push wages down. However, they also make a lot of money for big companies, which trickles down to everyone.
1
Rachel Maddow: "The party talks about reaching out to all Americans. As president, how will you do that? Give your answer in a rap, waltz, or other appropriate genre." NBC needs to get the dancing with the stars judges to do their next debate.
1
The US Attorney is federal, so not internal. Sure the deck is stacked but it is quite possible to take a junk police department and turn it around. It's been done in many cities after public pressure.
1
PS also the cops shoot FAR fewer people than in the past, it's been going down for about 100 years.
1
yes that is brilliant and obvious
1
Who was that?

[He hasn't kept a single campaign promise] While I agree President Trump is er, flexible things, he did one thing he promised: Talk to Russia to try solve Syria. While Trump has continued Obama's basic strategy, his approach at least is not preventing the recent fairly impressive gains against ISIS in terms of territory. Of course it's not solved but he's proceeding as he spoke about in the campaign, and unlike a lot of domestic stuff it's kinda working.
1
i think ur technicolorly correct, but i like it better as is. This way it doesn't imply that "Bernie Bros" is a question. I believe this is allowed by some grammeraticians, although not standard.
1
interesting questions. I'd add, isn't stock ownership a form of social ownership? Hmmm... This video has sparked some good discussion.
1
maybe maybe not, but that is not relevant to Maria's point. Even Trump repeatedly made the point, illegal bad, legal good. Maybe fewer legal is the way to go, but the legal immigrants are still the ones we invited and until proven guilty in a quart of coleslaw, they are good. no president has dared to actually jail violent aliens however. they arrest them and then set them free across the border. democrats, republicans, they don't care about the consequences. the Parties in Whom We Rust love the issue to be unresolved because it helps mobilize their respective base.
1
About the same confidence as I had in Obama's treatment of the press.
1
of course it's up for debate. but so are the results of the 1808 election. we really should move on to do things we'd want to do either way, like efficiency. shit or get off the pot, i say.
1
If Joe had gone after the tricksters, then he'd have a leg to stand on. If he and Obama had prosecuted for torture or stopped droning and invading... that leg might walk.
1
I think you are confusing pardon with parole -- for parole you have to serve some time first, but not for pardon.
1
I think your earlier comment may have re-appeared, as I just up-liked it
1
Yeah, progressives are the tea party of the left. The tea party of course a lot of it got taken over by big money, but the movements are similar in their relation to the major parties. Most (88%) of Bernie supporters DID vote for Clinton, but calling them, or ones who didn't, hypocritical, i don't see that. Also I hardly think we ruined Bernie's life! He's still doing what he's always done, kicking ass in Congress, and now he has national attention to push big items like Medicare for Hal. Agree we gotta work together acorss the spectrum!
1
yes, although the review is before the decision. after the decision, it's a done deal.

For peace, Gaza and WB have to get to a point where they can self govern. I propose a UBI for Gaza, to start. 1k/ mo for 2m people = 2 billion a month. With some economic security people can organize their own lives. Pay for it with a VAT tax on US arms production and exports (110b/ year, so need a 24% tax). Or Pay for it with a tax on oil (440b/ year, so need 6% tax). Or Pay for it with a tax on presidential elections (2.5b last time, so need 100% tax).
1
@in_wino_veritas Cory unleashed! His multi-directional attacks run the risk of seeming like a person with a brain. I don't think he'll expand his percentage a lot, but he looks like he's having fun. That runs the risk of getting votes. I better stop there or I'll be predicting a Booker/Biden ticket.
1
question: why did you smear Tulsi Gabbard with a fact-free speculation about some "cult" she might or might not belong to? Instead of, say, doing research and reporting?
1
Of course the right would be screaming, they did scream. It was just as dumb.
1
Sure you can have socially liberal with economically conservative policies. That doesn't mean that it works perfectly, but it's better than the opposite.
1
@chriscarbajal9688 Bernie's plenty aggressive in the debates. We've all heard his talk, I'm a bit bored with it. He's still tops, I just wish he'd tell a story about the 60s, or Vermont, or his dogs. Same with my gal Tulsi. Talk story, go off script! Only Yang keeps me wondering what he's going to say.
1
That's true if it was a state charge of contempt. Was it? Or was it in federal court?
1
Emma lost the part of the clip where he says he's in favor of legalization. Doesn't fit her narrative.

As a half-jew, who hangs out with old hippies who talk more about bears and horses than donkeys and elephants, the 1967 borders look pretty fair. Except Golan, which Israel should keep pending negotiations with a stable Syria. And Jerusalem should be an international city and anyone's capitol if they want it there. (toke) Gaza and WB have to get to a point where they can self govern. I propose a UBI for Gaza, to start. 1k/ mo for 2m people = 2 billion a month. With some economic security people can organize their own lives. Pay for it with a VAT tax on US arms production and exports (110b/ year, so need a 2% tax). Or we could follow the current model of support to Israel, and give Gaza 1k/ month to buy weed from northern California (and other key districts).
1
it's just weird for a candidate to "waste" time on small things. which is wrong headed i think, because if you take care of the little things it makes the big things much easier.
1
@RadioFreeNorCal I would donate most of my pennies for that! That's a cool way to make it meaningful.
1
@RadioFreeNorCal OK

<he has to serve at least five years before he can even be considered for a pardon> You are probably thinking of parole, not pardon. Indeed, for parole you have to serve some minimum time, depending on the sentence and rules. When on parole, you are still serving your sentence, just doing it outside of jail. You can be sent back to jail for violating terms of parole, like having a gun or associating with gang members. Pardon on the other hand is permanent, and there are no terms.
