Parents: We're going to keep our children safe so they can live long and happy lives, even if we have to uproot our lives to do it. Chicago: No.
91
This just in: water is wet, fire is hot, and hampering the police gets you more crime.
21
I wonder who the mayor is going to blame for this weekend.
9
Other prisoners may not be very nice to a man who killed two teenage girls. Even most felons have standards.
6
This is how you get food deserts. It's a shame because most of the people there aren't thieves, but most of them probably vote for the politicians who pretty much condone theft.
3
Without a description of the perpetrator, this story contains no useful information.
3
Highlighting Black fathers isn't a bad thing, but I wonder what the reaction to an "unapologetically White" commercial would be. Well, I don't wonder.
3
Chicago has them.
2
If they're guilty, keep them in prison for decades. Yeah, sucks to be them, but their lives are secondary considerations.
2
Lori Lightfoot will blame racism, but the ironic part of it is, Lori Lightfoot has probably helped kill enough young Black people to be elected Grand Dragon Of the KKK.
2
@Jacob-oc Sure, everybody would be fine with facing racial discrimination if not for their own internalized racism.
2
Smart lady! Get out before Chicago makes it illegal to leave. California is already thinking of taxing people after they've left for another state.
2
Yeah, take an ambulance. It's nice and inconspicuous.
2
The time shown is 05:58 Zulu (the Z shown in the time). Zulu time is a different time zone.
2
Odd that it seems concentrated in Democrat-run cities.
2
@goldenchild5894 Dude, we didn't do any of that. We didn't do slavery. We didn't take Native American's land. We didn't do that any more than you do crack, be a deadbeat dad, and rob people on the street. If you hold people accountable for the actions of others of their skin color, then (1) you're racist AF and (2) you have no grounds to complain about profiling, redlining, etc. Learn to treat people as individuals instead of lumping everybody together by skin color when it's convenient. It's harder, but it's the right thing to do. And it's the only way you'll stop being racist.
2
When you move to Florida, vote Red.
2
@nadanadaguey Do you have any evidence for that? Because the news shows evidence people are tired of high taxes and crime.
1
That could go really wrong. Someone in Chicago would see 10 dead, put a bet on 15, and go kill 5 more people.
1
Sanctuary city.
1
Good news from Chicago!
1
I can't wait for the mayor-elect to blame this on "structural racism." 🤣🤣🤣
1
@thefamily512 You're welcome to your opinion.
1
I won't call diversity our strength, not the way they usually mean diversity. But I know too many people of every color to say that we're better off with one skin color.
1
Poll the people leaving. You think you're going to get an honest answer from the governor? Look at Chicago, with rampant crime and an openly racist mayor. The taxes are high, crime is rampant, Lightfoot is going to keep blaming everybody else, and the Chicago voters are going to cheer her on because it's what they want to hear. Statewide, the taxes are high, and illegal immigrants have been given sanctuary to put those tax dollars to good use. Why would anyone stay?
1
Misdemeanors. Even if they were waiting for the baby to die before filing felony charges, that's intolerable. As in something that people should stop tolerating.
1
I think they have a better chance of success than the elected city leaders. God bless you, ladies.
1
Can't be helped. Enough people have discovered they can vote themselves into a system where they can prey on others.
1
I'm going to go ahead and say it. The hundred meter dash. Cancel me, internet! Cancel me! 🤣🤣🤣
1
@LDrumsOhio I researched to disagree, but you're right. Illinois is a shall issue state. I hear a lot of places have the sticker to keep guns out, but that's an inconvenience and people can still get guns.
1
They'll do something -- they'll blame anyone but these kids and their parents.
1
@omarbhester You could try to think before you type, or you could try to be honest. Do we have laws against theft? Do the youth know that? Do we have laws against rape? Do the youth know that? Do we have free educaiton and after-school programs? Do the youth know that? Keep blaming everybody else for what these kids do. See where it gets you, and where it gets them.
1
@thefpvlife7785 It's fair. It's also fair to use for the anti-MAGA crowd.
1
@bcbritt777 You're wrong about the demographic behind mass shootings, technically. Spree shootings of the "kill as many people as I can" type are mostly Whites, but mass shootings -- shootings where there are a lot of victims -- are disproportinately Blacks, and related to other crimes.
1
Blacks commit disproportionate numbers of violent crimes. Men commit disproportionate numbers of violent crimes. If we're going to label one group as savage or barbaric, why not the other?
1
Lightfoot is an evil POS and Kim Foxx is no better, but I don't know if the National Guard is the answer if they have to play by the same rules as the CPD. If just not having the manpower in the CPD is the problem then it's worth a try.
1
After 22 years, is it going to be a Sunday?
1
One policy change would help: the CPD could announce that they won't enforce gun laws against law-abiding citizens with no criminal record, and not using those guns in the commission of a crime.
1
Well, there is the minor point that he shot people in self-defense. You're free to disregard that as unimportant if it doesn't fit the narrative you're trying to construct, though.
1
@AhseemCarter That's an assumption on your part. Sometimes you bring guns to defend yourself or others. If you're going to try to defend people or property against rioters and terrorists, you have reason to be armed other than "itchin' to fill someone fulla lead."
1
@jamesjacocks6221 YSelf-defense is supported by video evidence as well. Take the gun out of the equation and sure, the deceased don't get shot. But that doesn't mean it wasn't self-defense.
1
@jamesjacocks6221 Someone has little reason to take a gun to a peaceful demonstration expected to stay peaceful. This wasn't that. People have every logical reason to take a gun when they expect to face violent people.
1
@jamesjacocks6221 Rittenhouse had just as much business being there as the rioters and terrorists. More, actually, since he was defending others lives and livelihoods. Unless it can be demonstrated that he was there trying to shoot people then he is presumed innocent.
1
@jamesjacocks6221 So he's responsible for deaths caused in self-defense? Well, he killed two people, so if that's what you think being responsible for a death means, sure. If you mean he is responsible because he had no business being there and it should have been left to rioters and terrorists, then he's responsible, I suppose. If you mean that he went there to shoot people, then you're just guessing.
1
@jamesjacocks6221 What evidence do you have that he was going there to cause trouble? because he had a gun and was not sympathetic to the rioters and terrorists? So it wasn't to defend himself or others as necessary?
1
@jamesjacocks6221 I didn't say he was there to defend himself, I said he could be there, and that he could carry a gun to defend himself. And yes, I can say he was there to defend others, even if he did not have authority to do so. Why not?
1
@jamesjacocks6221 It's not vigilantism any more than any of several citizens patrols. The police weren't doing their job, so the law had already taken a far greater hit than some people trying to protect order.
1
Good luck to her! Racism has no place in schools, including racism against White people.
1
FFS! If someone is going to kill you over the wrong color clothes, do you think that politely asking them to stop is going to help? I sympathize with this man's motives, and maybe almost anything is worth a try at this point, but I hope this isn't plan A. Cash bail reform needs to ride off into the sunset. When someone is arrested, keep them in jail until they make bail. If someone keeps committing crimes, keep them in prison. Third strike, life in prison. And when someone screams "racist!' because of any of these race-neutral measures, point and laugh, because that's the best way to applaud clowns.
1
This might be when the left starts to defend sexual assault, like they tried to defend knifing someone as just something people do.
