Give the English a vote on union.
35
Has the BBC investigated the attack on 7th October, or the treatment of the hostages? (rhetorical question?)
22
Yes . . . . unlike the 7th October victims . . .
10
@superyachtchef Then accept that the English have a right to decide on the union. After all, we subsidise Scotland [and Wales, and N.I.].
9
"Never again" was the call in 1945. Now see what's shamefully happening in countries from which men and women fought and died to end the regime which perpetrated the Sho’ah . . .
8
Al Beeb has sympathies, not for western nations though . . .
5
BRITISH PAKISTANIS - Who, what, are they?
5
@gaz9957 England seems to be missing a "thriving independence movement" at present, but we can adapt, I'm sure. "Mean-spirited, spiteful, vindictive, arrogant and petty" could describe what we perceive, south of the border. I'd add "ungrateful" to the list.
4
@gaz9957 If you claim to be Scottish and don't know how to spell the name of that spirit, shame on you!
3
@superyachtchef That way, Scotland will gain independence. England will end subsidies, be rid of the millstone. It won't happen by a vote of canny Scots!
3
@andyallan2909 England should have a choice on staying in the union. It's not about the Scots alone, it's about all of us! The UK paid into the €USSR, just as England subsidises the Scots.
3
The images of the attack on 7th October . . . ?
3
“Far Right” It's a manufactured term, invented by those to the extreme left of political centre ground. Anything beyond that is not merely on the political right, but 'far right'. In Newcastle, Penzance is ‘far west’. In Plymouth, it’s just down the road. In New York, California is the 'far west'. In Nevada, it's only across the state line.
2
It pays better than telling the truth?
2
Imagine if “humanitarian aid" had been provided to Germany (anti-Semitic exponent writ large) during WW2 . . . !
2
@Chumptools They don't . . .
2
@fitzstv8506 . . . . because Scotland is part of a political and economic union. England wanted to be out of the €USSR; why should our choice be inhibited by Scotland?
2
Yes please!
2
“Far Right” “Hard Right” ~ Insulting terms confected by the extreme left of politics [far left] to denigrate normal, sensible people. Intended to redirect criticism from themselves, anything reasonable isn’t merely politically right-wing, but “hard right”/“far right”.
2
Paying for it? Not in my worst nightmares.
2
@manino12345 Ah yes, the detritus which has washed up on our shores, instead of taking care of their own country?
2
As long as you refer to them as “migrants”, “refugees” or “asylum-seekers” the longer it will take to arrive at an effective solution. Send them back home.
2
“Far Right” ~ A derogatory term invented by those on the extreme political left to denigrate sensible people. Intended to deflect criticism from themselves, anything disliked is not merely the political right, but 'far right'.
2
@johnfoxton8737 I'm surprised anyone needs to ask that. England [English taxpaying voters] want rid of the costly disparity. There never will be a majority in Scotland for independence, except in Wee Krankie's head . . .
2
@johnfoxton8737 I observe comments on the issue, currently and for a long time previously. I took note of the result of indyref1 and the choice of Scots to remain in the UK. You presume indyref2 will produce a different outcome. Why is that thought to be likely?
2
@johnfoxton8737 All in the UK were able to vote, regardless of location. You lost; accept it. Good luck with the 'flourish' idea; Scotland joined the union 300 years ago because English help was needed. If you go [if!] please don't ask to return.
2
All was quiet on October 6th - what happened?
2
Not "militants", “insurgents”, “operatives”, “fanatics” or “fighters” . . . . they're terrorists.
2
Marion is not on board with her aunt, nor her aunt with her. France will suffer accordingly.
1
@user-ug8wx5er1w The €USSR would be doom . . .
1
@editor4578 That doesn't make you an idiot, just a realist . . .
1
End the telly tax - make BBC a subscription operation.
1
@MultiformeIngegno Glad to hear it. I once worked for Al-Beeb - and it was no joke!
1
@MultiformeIngegno BBC - biased broadcasting corp.
1
@MultiformeIngegno Any and all who do not agree with their self-indulgent and extremely left-wing ideas.
1
Al Beeb certainly is.
1
Not "militants", “insurgents”, “operatives”, “fanatics” or “fighters” . . . . they're simply terrorists.
1
izslamicide?
1
Actually, it has been confirmed. Do keep up! @BasilKung
1
Al Beeb has been 'woke' for a long time already.
1
You jest ? @louischamoun7072
1
Al Beeb is just supporting anti-western activities, as usual . . .
1
@Militaria Millar Please read me again, carefully this time. I talk about 'union', something involving two or more parties to a decision.
1
@andyallan2909 It's all about us English having a say on England leaving the union. Would you deny us a democratic vote to choose?
1
@C17NRYL3D Scots should not be able to adhere to England if the English don't want them. Any 'rule' over the Scots is because we subsidise that country. Whilst part of the UK, Scotland must contribute to and accept community responsibilities, as part of community help and sharing. Anything else is immoral . . .
1
Meanwhile, across the world, hundreds of thousands of infants in the womb are being deliberately killed each year . . .
1
Joe and Co wanting to suck-up to voters of a certain 'peace-loving' persuasion? Wouldn't happen, would it . . . ?
1
@stevec6427 They would, however, be subject to English control of the pound and all that entails. Smaller €USSR countries suffer from German dominance of the €Uro. One is not fully independent without control of currency, as €Urope is finding out.
1
@editor4578 Yes I can, many of them.
1
Meanwhile, across the world, hundreds of thousands of infants in the womb are being deliberately [but legally] killed each year . . .
