@fitzstv8506 Yes, the term does show disdain, but informed knowledge, not ignorance. As for England 'inhibiting' your wish to remain in the €USSR, the overall margin of the pretenderendum result reflected the inclusion of the countries you mention. Had that disproportionately affected the outcome, England's escape might have been totally prevented and the resentment engendered might have been poisonous. We all saw the subsequent efforts of privileged vested interests to frustrate our exit.
1
@fitzstv8506 Ah yes, us Brexiteers were 'misled'. We choose to disagree, to opt for real independence, whilst you resort to insults and faint condescension. I'm neither ill-informed nor ignorant, but well-informed and knowledgeable, about the €USSR, and, as it happens, part of a majority which thinks similarly. If you want to learn about your future as an 'independent country' in the €USSR, keep your attention on events in €ire these next few years.
1
@fitzstv8506 I do recall the two votes given to €ire on the question of exit from the €USSR. The first vote was for 'out', but not being the desired answer, it needed to be repeated. 'Best of three' may have been a more fair and democratic approach? €ire is a foreign country to which we have no allegiance, nor it to us. It has never been a friend to us, never will be. It is dangerously delusional to think otherwise. Now they can show they still hate the British by remaining in the €U. The €USSR will eventually throw €ire under a bus and the clever politicians there won't see it coming. (which country gave you helpful loans when in trouble a few years ago? Let me think . . .)
1
@fitzstv8506 You're correct in that no in/out vote was conducted, but the inference was there for those who looked. Irish politicians, like some Scottish ones, do hate and detest England. It's a sad fact.
1
@fitzstv8506 Watch this space! At some point, 'target2' will crystallise; €Uro game over, €USSR over. Sentimentality for €ire won't hack it.
1
Meanwhile, across the world, hundreds of thousands of infants in the womb are being deliberately killed each year . . .
1
@donaldboughton8686 As a minimum, and returning with no debts and no 'Barnett formula' subsidies, no devolved 'parliament', nothing . . .
1
Was that the 'hospital' where Hamas had stashed weapons and explosives underground? Did Al Beeb ask about the medical qualifications of the staff they featured?
1
No peace, know them ~ know peace, no them.
1
As if ! Not "militants", “insurgents”, “operatives”, “fanatics” or “fighters” . . . . they're terrorists. @joe67274
1
Ah yes, a law limiting the influence of communism and €USSR. Of course the BBC will cover it as if it hurts the population, whereas it will be of benefit . . .
1
How come it's taken this long to authenticate it?
1
@googlesucks925 Aren't they all?
1
@d_ni6519 I'm sure I know all I need to know.
1
@shaylazaman1882 So which nationality are you . . . ? (NB - home is where the heart is)
1
@shaylazaman1882 Maybe past the time to be 'British' and honour our heritage?
1
@shaylazaman1882 Then you should go live there, help those less fortunate than yourself. Britain needs people committed to Britain . . .
1
@shaylazaman1882 My family came from Ireland, when that place was 'British', an integral part of the UK - I'm English . . .
1
@kookikitten My forebears came from Ireland to England when it was all part of the same UK.
1
@kookikitten * a disproportionate number of essential workers, NHS workers etc * That applies to certain locations in England - not to Britain as a whole.
1
@fitzstv8506 Question is, are you prepared to accept the likely result . . . ?
1
@fitzstv8506 Me too, hence my extreme annoyance at efforts to prevent Brexit. It's about sovereignty and and that of both England and Scotland should be respected. Currently too many Scots seem to think it's all about them and what activists think is the right [and only] choice for the future. Indyref2 next year and indyref3 not until 2050 . . .
1
@fitzstv8506 The €USSR did connive at delaying and cancelling Brexit, and has been reported in the MSM. €U officials met with 'remain' politicians from Britain. I'm sure there is a "desire among many many Scots for independence", but until a majority of those voting want it, it's not going to happen, perhaps ever.
1
@fitzstv8506 * "they had no influence" * You appear to ignore the events of the more than three years of many and various, public and covert, attempts to undermine the choice of the majority of voters. Fulfilling the desire for independence, if subjected to a fair, democratic vote, may not eventuate. An opportunity to choose should not be confused with the idea of a foregone conclusion. In that event, I trust you will accept the choice of fellow countrymen - or that of us English if we choose to opt out of the union. We too want that "democratic opportunity" and your support for us in that respect could prove useful. Think about it; you haven't yet . . .
1
@fitzstv8506 Look up the activities of the CBI re Brexit. There are other instances, some MPs tripping over the Bruxelles. Perhaps I've been watching this more intensely and for longer than yourself?
1
Too near the truth. BBC lives a long way from truth. @chrisd5964
1
@scotsexile1 It's a large county council, nothing more.
1
Yes, Israel has been under attack since its creation. Al Beeb has an anti-freedom agenda. It's well-past its use-by date. @faisalbinmahfoudh5913
1
@mijicmugendo No, England supports that idea, hence we opted out of the €USSR . . .
1
I did, until I worked there twenty years ago . . .
1
I once worked there for a while - imagine how I feel about it . . .
1
They're not wanted there [or anywhere else]. Not very 'Christian' those Egyptians, are they?
1
Know peace, no them ~ No peace, know them @AdenSegal-u9x
1
It's down to global warming, or so we'll be told in due course . . .
1
“Far Right” “Hard Right” ~ Insulting terms confected by the extreme left of politics [far left] to denigrate normal, sensible people. Intended to redirect criticism from themselves, anything reasonable isn’t merely politically right-wing, but “hard right”/“far right”.
1
@johnfoxton8737 Puzzles us English as well. Perhaps 300 years of sentiment and goodwill, not wanting you to suffer?
1
@johnfoxton8737 Thank you. Do feel free to return fifty years of the generous 'Barnett formula' subsidies . . .
1
@johnfoxton8737 We're not 'helping ourselves' to 'your' money; you're paying a small share of joint expenses.
1
@johnfoxton8737 I know exactly what I mean . . .
1
@johnfoxton8737 England gives you 100% . . . . but not for ever if [if!] you run away to lala land . . .
1
@johnfoxton8737 Good luck with that. It's about sovereignty and that's the correct choice, which we Brexiteers believe but which too many vested interests wished to prevent, and still wish to cancel. Indyref2 next year but no indyref3 until 2050. To suggest referenda every seven years is to invite ridicule.
1
@casperwallace9685 They're all at it these days!
1
@bobfinlayson3377 Thinking you should "have back" all you pay into the union pot may show an unwillingness to pay your way with shared expenses. * "no evidence to suggest Scotland could not survive without financial support from Westminster " * Survive it might; Wee Krankie gives no evidence in that respect. Prosper and flourish, a whole different ball-game.
1
@bobfinlayson3377 It's all part of the same merry-go-round, Bob. South of the border ~ the perception is of Scottish nationalists saying they contribute excessively. no free prescriptions, uni students do not receive fee-free education, etc.
1
@bobfinlayson3377 When looking at the per capita amounts from the Treasury, Scotland has way more than England. Somebody has to go without for you . . .
1
@bobfinlayson3377 The information is out there; you'll be able to find it if you look.
1
@bobfinlayson3377 Stats on UK govt. spending p/a. Everything's on Google [or so it seems to me].
1
@bobfinlayson3377 * "what should be sent to Westminster to cover 'shared expenses" * That idea has merit, but the supplier of those services sets the price, not the buyer . . . !
1
@bobfinlayson3377 Indeed. Taxpayers everywhere would welcome that.
1
@sknox1394 Ah yes, the oil industry, financed by everywhere but Scotland. You're coming late to the party with that old chestnut.
