Most Americans can’t afford $40,000 cars. A lot of Americans drive an hour one way to work in traffic. Personally, I will never buy another Ford vehicle. I had a Lincoln once and it gave me lots of problems. My current car manufacturer, I’m on the 4th car. No major majors ever.

Meanwhile, our parents can take their kids to school and their activities but the rich have a different nanny for each child that takes them around. Maybe the government should be advocating for colleges to pay for the faulty products/services they are selling to people and to get both the colleges and financial institutions to mandate financial management training before granting them loans. Why should tax payers be responsible for high income wage earners student debt or those who wasted money on useless degrees? We all know if the government gets involved with repaying these loans, the costs of college will go up. Also, why should tax payers pay for others student loans, who instead of using their ‘intellect’ to continue to pay or put aside their loan amount, they used that money to go on craps, trips, cars, luxury things, other miscellaneous things, etc?

  37. As a retired veteran, I remember the government shut down in the 90s and we were warned that our pay will be stopped. Move forward years later, military paid was protected from government shut down, especially the ones that happened doing Trump years. Now they’re back to saying military pay will be affected by the shut down as an emotional blackmail to not shut the government down. Nordstrom, sunglasses and jewelry stores don’t sell bread and bread do not cost $900, $500 or even $50. This is what the next boycott should be about with consumers stepping up and stop shopping at those stores allowing the thefts to happen, so insurance companies and consumers to pay for those profit loss.

  48.  @kacyandlaura  Not is all but in most cases. It’s escrow where your LENDER pays your PROPERTY TAXES to your STATE from your mortgage payments. Also, some lenders pay your home insurance too. Look it up. I is/was a homeowner in two different states. In both cases, the lender paid the property taxes.
