Not explicitly but yeah, it's a defensive alliance and the only powerful country in the region that starts wars in Europe is Russia.
1
Those were good times. Pax Romana allowed unprecedented prosperity and free trade. So yeah, let Italy restore the roman empire 😏
1
Are you apolitical?
1
@victorhopper6774 "everyone lies" is a strategy to keep you from critical thinking and seeking the truth. It makes it easier for people to give up and let those in power continue to rule over them. It takes work to be an informed voter but it's the only way to maintain a working democracy and a free society.
1
Someone from the silovoki will replace him. Nothing will change.
1
@songhanshan9843 Hong Kong, Tibet, murder and oppression of Uhygers. The CCP is a threat to everyone within reach. Taiwan is their next target.
1
Yeah, and when they can't continue the reality of the cost of the war in lives and economic well-being will hit hard.
1
@alexmiller23 so are you ready to fight and die? Is your belief that its all western propaganda so strong that you would risk your life?
1
Broaden the question to include all the silovoki
1
@pacmanc8103 I agree Putin hasn't reached the extreme like China but I think Putin can see how effective China is with comprehensive indoctrination and would probably like to implement a similar strategy.
1
These comments do not represent what most people feel. The vast majority of people hate Putin but not the Russian people. We know you have no power and have lived under tyranny for so long that you just accept it a fact of life.
1
@scratchy996 even so, i think passive resistance is possible. Avoiding being drafted is a form of resistance
1
@daark1799 would you go if you were drafted? Are you willing to ignore "western propaganda" and put your life in danger? And for what? Makes no sense to me.
1
@scratchy996 is it better to go and kill or be killed for Putin's obsession with empire? People all over the world have resisted being drafted into wars. Worst case they can leave the country like Americans that went to Canada during the Vietnam war.
1
Very clever question. The parallels are subtle but effective. I wonder how many understood that.
1
Isn't it dangerous for you to make these videos? Respect and admiration that you are taking the risk. Your content is really interesting but please be careful.
1
Total non-sequitur, made me laugh 😄
1
You must have heard his rant about people wanting him to oppose the war. He was pretty clear he wouldn't risk his family or his source of people income. Not judging, he was just being honest.
1
Not so different than you would find a in most large Western cities.
1
Thanks for the videos. Must be tough walking the fine line between what's legal and what isn't in Russia right now. Keep up the good work.
1
@SBCBears the Russians you are talking about have been brainwashed, there is no free press, no political discussion. Putin has killed or jailed any opposition. If you tell a lie long enough and loud enough people are going to start believing it. And yes, what Trump tried to do is small potatoes by comparison but he has a lot of people convinced he actually won using the same tactic. The difference is I vote, I speak out, but the Russians can't do anything about Putin.
1
@SBCBears you mean a view that differs from yours is a narrow point of view?
1
@SBCBears so you are more well-formed than others who have the same access to information and come to different conclusions? An essay is not necessary to make a point.
1
@АндрейПашук-ь1ф didn't have internet or instant news. It took a long time before people really understood what was going on over there. At first there wasn't much conscription, most soldiers were volunteers. Then things got worse and they started drafting people and more died. People started asking why we were there. It took a long time before we realized what a mistake it was.
1
@greeniscolorofinfinityperiodt sorry, translator not working. Hope that wasn't an insult 😒
1
🤣
1
Definitely a "no win" situation for anybody without connections or a lot of money.
1
@daark1799 like most countries in the free world: freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, freedom to protest. The right to express yourself without fear. Free and fair elections. It's not complicated.
1
Given that opposition the Putin can put you in prison it's easier to rationalize supporting him or not taking a position. Those opposed to Putin are put in a moral dilemma with no good options.
1
1984 Orwell. No further comment is required.
1
If you did your polls in America the videos would be much longer. Americans love to talk about what they think about everything even when they don't know what they're talking about.
1
@alexmiller23 so you moved to Russia from the West. That's unusual. Do you like living there?
1
Check the demographics of Russia on Wikipedia. There is your explanation.
1
If the TV propaganda is getting people to consider nuclear war it won't be long before a majority of Russians accept it as an option like the lady that wanted a first strike.
1
I've read and seen social media saying conscription varies by region. In some place they are going after almost everybody of draft age and other places hardly anybody is getting drafted. Anybody know what's up with this?
1
@Os-zc1xt actually, I did propose a question almost the same as this one but I didn't think he would do it because it's a bit risky. I'm impressed he actually went there. I really respect and admire this guy and hope he doesn't get into trouble.
1
They don't seem nearly as worried as the West. Maybe they don't understand the consequences.
1
@justthesun don't know the details but she was the last of the family to get out (they all left before the war) and it happened near the end of WW2.
1
Exactly, completely agree 👍
1
@shades2.183 too simplistic. There is no chance of change if we just condemn all Russians. We know that there are a lot more Russians that oppose Putin's tyranny than the media would have you believe. There has to be a solution that allows them to take back their power and we need to encourage them to do so.
1
@salaudin4k try publicly expressing an opinion against Putin's war and his regime and see what happens. We've seen what happens.
1
@salaudin4k sorry to tell you but we have all seen video of arrests, opposition leaders jailed, media outlets shut down. It's all there for the world to see. These are facts you can't deny. There is no freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly. Putin is in total control. If you like Putin and what he's doing then these things won't matter to you.
1
Great interviews, I hope you don't get busted.
1
YouTuber NFKRZ says Russia blocked revenue from his channel and apparently anyone who holds dollars has to exchange them for rubles. Clearly it's bad for anyone who has or earns dollars.
1
@aycc-nbh7289 there is always a choice. Is anything worth death in a foreign country for something you don't believe in? Draft resistance is nothing new. Worst case just leave the country like many Americans did during the Vietnam war.
1
@aycc-nbh7289 would the Russian people accept the government killing people for avoiding the draft? How much death in war or resisting war is acceptable? I've learned how Russians can cope without freedom but death is something else entirely.
1
@aycc-nbh7289 I'm not so sure. Putin seems reluctant to increase conscription and have conscripts fighting. Why would he be reluctant if he wasn't concerned about a reaction? Obviously I don't know how things really work over there but all that death must be having an impact (or maybe not, I don't know)
1
🤣 good one 👍
1
It's pretty clear the the Russian people are not going to rise up and get rid of Putin either because they are brainwashed or the danger of protest is just too much. Maybe the West needs to adjust sanctions so they don't effect Russians who are already struggling to get by.
1
Thanks!
