the 1200s are actually harder to find nowadays
2
i have a two-door and my girl drives a 4-door (which i maintain)...does that make me a snob, too? and... my 2-door has a 2+ inch extended wheelbase- try doing that with a 4-door car. there are a few great mods that you can't do with a 4-door or wagon car. your comment is ignorant and not appropriate and there are hundreds of 510 owners out there that would agree with me.
2
if you are referring to the plastic barrier underneath the door trim i would recommend making and installing another one if you ever drive it in the rain. and get that horrible B/W letchworth tranny out of there and find a 3N71B tranny for it.
2
theyre foreign car fanatics- don't get your panties in a wad.....
2
we used to get corvair or monza wheels for our 510s when we were young and poor.
2
are you friends with the butt-hurt guy complaining about the same lack of info??
2
you already said that- GET OVER IT
2
its only worth what someone is willing to pay- just like anything else
2
you can bet someone already snapped it up.
2
i would say go to northern california or the pacific northwest and you should be able to find a solid one- but you won't like the price.
2
no- the barrier was factory- glued to the door shell. it stays put when you release the door trim clips. there's something to be said for 'hands-on' knowledge.
2
good for doing donuts in your ex's front yard.
1
no ones going to 'cut it up' - its a four-door car. a big boy who likes to chop and modify is going to want a two-door car even if just because its a hell of a lot easier to get in and out of (and looks better to boot). the only 510 that belongs in MY museum would be the ultra-rare '68 two-door car. anyone who says they have one has to put out and post a pic somewhere.
1
@towallomeesgel1703 just bagging it would cost a fortune.
1
you can get em from year one- gen 1 mustangs are hot in california.
1
youre not understanding how sparse their dealer network was here.....
1
maybe it was really a 2-door sedan? they only had the K-510s in the JDM
1
the value of the auto 510s are quite low as they are a lot of work installing the three-pedal setups for MTM.
1
its okay but its a 4-door car.
1
some people change out the speedo heads (usually an attempt to deceive a potential buyer)
1
some 510 guys have skinned-over the flimsy gas door ON THE RH QUARTER PANEL and just put the outer filler/cap directly on the tank filler in the trunk. my sedan is like that. all you had to do was look in the trunk where the fuel tank was. the license plate filler was a moronic GM idea.
1
in asia, as well.
1
pretty much
1
we build em- you drive em
1
@seed_drill7135 ...because they used salt on the roads upstate. some of the western new york cars are still around as they used slag on their icy roads.
1
@TheCanadianBubba since the 2-door 510s weren't brought to the US until 6/68, they are extremely rare as only a handful made it here before the '69s started showing up the following month. i've lived in southern california for the last 42 years, working at various datsun/nissan dealers and i've seen only one '68 2-door sedan.
1
@MichaelSteeves i still have my '72 2-door sedan- its now gone over half a million miles. it has an alcohol-fuel nissan V6 in it now.
1
they never put 5-speeds in those- somebody must have put one in yours.
1
once upon a time, we had a red muira s at rick case honda in cuyahoga falls back in '73. it was a lemon and went thru 3 frustrated owners before we bought it back (again). it then burned to the ground on one of our techs test drives. the end.
1
about 12K in 2018, and about 20K nowadays. thats for a solid, straight, rust-free 4-door car like you would see in the southwest desert locations.
1
no you don't....
1
because at some point it was driven in the salt & snow. what a downgrade- from a 2-liter 510 to a fairmont.
1
good luck finding parts- any kind of parts. any good nissan dealer parts dept can help keep your 510 running.
1
nissan never used a six-cylinder in any 510 and your '69 was not an A10 510/violet as they weren't introduced until 1976. the 3N71B automatic 3-speeds weren't introduced until mid-year 1970. get the VIN and MOP, post it and i'll tell you what it really was. if it was a 69 510- it would have had an L16 engine mated to a borg-warner 2-speed 'full automatic' transmission.
1
better pick one up at auto zone.
1
way past its useful life.
1
sitting for 25 years is a hellova lot better than being abused or neglected for 25 years.....
1
@meharidude call it 'unique'- call it what you want- i call it 'ignorant'... a telescoping steering column is smart- even the 510 had a collapse-under-impact steering-column body.
1
its a moisture barrier and most survivor 510s still have theirs.
1
it would be safer with a multi-spoke wheel as that has nothing to do with the collapsing steering column- and the datsun had such a steering column, as well.
1
amazing he came up with that abortion
1
the first rx-7 was a hot seller because it was fast and cheap. period. kinda like the first 240Z. my old beat-up datsun 510 could smoke a 944- bfd
1
i miss my '68 510, too
1
come to shasta lake california during a UFO swap and you can see them- many are for sale. but be warned they sell for big bucks now. a clean, bone-stock 2-door 510 can fetch 45-50K. the only reason they get rusted out is because of the use of corrosive chemicals on icy roads.
1
in an age of blown engines displacement doesn't mean that much nowadays although i prefer all-motor for the stoplight drags.
1
probably sold it the next day
1
for his mom
1
nonsense- come to california and you'll see them again. go to shasta lake during the UFO picnics and you can see a hundred or more of them...
1
its only $19,999.99 will that be cash or bank check?
1
the 2-stroke saabs really were something special- the 900 series was mundane, by comparison.
