Its unpredictable rolling maneuvers would make it nearly impossible to hit.

You could argue that this is cheating, but 'Team Bruce' deserved it after coming up with a race so obviously biased. I mean, a 'commerical vehicle drag race' is bollocks, they knew they could use a 'ute'.

Without that engine rebuild, they'd have to give you money to get rid of the car. 3000 pounds, to be exact...
46
+16patie However, amazingly, after the Burma/Myanmar special, the first free elections in years were held there. The winner is a Nobel Peace Prize winner, so I suppose it's not all bad wherever Top Gear goes...
46
Everything will either be on fire or explode. Or both simultaneously.
45
***** I disagree. In Series 22, they've been behaving better than ever, with the two largest controversies (the Patagonia numberplate incident and the Peugeot crash) being entirely accidental. Jeremy himself was drunk when he punched the producer, which doesn't entirely justify his behaviour, but at least makes the incident less problematic.
45
+grisznik Or 'You could've warned me, I had the shock of my life', though that's largely because of Hammond's delivery of the line.
44
They do. According to them, you're not a real car enthousiast unless you've had one. Although they added that there are easier ways of becoming broke. Then again, they called Lancia the greatest car maker of all time, despite mocking their reliability. They prefer Italian style over reliability.
43
199 people are offended Christians.
43
+firethorn It actually was...
43
I think Finns keep their racing capabilities with age. That's why Kimi Raikkonen is still an F1 driver at the age of, what, 86?
43
***** In his Mercedes 600 Grosser. I'd happily live under his regime, though...
43
+Greg Polansky 'Hammond had indeed checked into a Formula 1 in a Renault' Formula 1 (besides being the name of a motorsport) is the name of a brand of budget hotels in France. So what he means is that, while Jeremy and James would get excessively luxurious cars on this supposed special, Richard would get a Renault and a cheap hotel.
41
+Niall In this case, it's excused, since they mock the UK and its motoring industry pretty often as well.
41
They wouldn't have been able to find it, either.
38
I'd happily live under his regime...
33
ScoutSpyScout Or steal its ammo, for that matter. My point is, taking away components isn't proper killing. It's like taking someone's heart out of their body during an operation, it just doesn't feel like killing. (I'm saying this as if I have experience on this subject, but I don't)
31
And that's why I want seat heaters in the car.
29
Hammond is shouting, extremely terrified. Meanwhile, the professional driver looks like this is a normal drive to the supermarket for him. Lovely sight.
29
They were all brilliant, but the first one in the tradition of stunning, calm Top Gear films has got to be the Aston Marin V12 Vantage review, to this day my favourite Top Gear film of all time.
28
That just cost you a lot of pounds, mate.
27
megaspeed2v2 True. The 100 pound challenge was the first cheap car challenge, but this was the first one where everything went wrong (somewhat on purpose)
27
Attractiveness was the entire point here. That's why they put her with James in the car in the first place.
26
That was a rather pointless comparison, to be honest...
25
+LordDarthHarry That, and secondhand Hummers (like the one they blew up) aren't worth anything. Not a lot, at least. And an old Renault Laguna and Alfa 156? Please. 1000 pounds will get you one.
25
He returned in Series 19 to help review the new Kia Cee-apostrophe-D, so perhaps they did? Not in this tragic way, however.
23
That would be a massive spoiler, though.
23
Gasrullen Ba dum tss
22
Whether you like Hammond or not, it's the only excuse they will ever need.
22
Howard Lau Yes, but I was comparing sports and their car equivalents. And only football and rugby have had car versions so far, so I'm not comparing regular rugby to other sports than football.
20
Hafiz On Demand! I knew I had forgotten something. Now that I think of it, car ice hockey is even more violent than the other two...
20
Q-car in British terminology.
19
I guess they're still better than TGUS...
19
It's not like this one was any good anymore...
19
Omar Abdul You really think the car stands any chance whatsoever in the cramped ant's nest that is Amsterdam? Especially with this many bicycle lanes and the surprisingly decent tram system?
19
latengocomoburro Let me tell you a secret. The Ford Focus... is German.
19
***** Nope, it refers to James Bond's Q

All comments in this chain have 111, 11 or 1 like. My OCD could not be more pleased.
18
+SmegSlebChef That's all well and good, but that does mean people need to stop complaining about their love of Alfas. Objectively speaking, both Alfas and muscle cars are terrible, but if we bought the objectively best cars we'd all drive Golfs and Corollas. In that sense, the two are in the same boat.
18
***** Fair enough.
17
Mark Urban Top Gear likes to exaggerate numbers. I quote their review of the Zenvo ST1: 'But the Bugatti Veyron weighs more than most mountains'
17
ziz4ever Reports are the best way to determine whether a car is rationally good. If you buy an X6 for how it feels on you, that's just an indication of bad taste.
16
***** Well, the interior isn't made out of plastic. Saying that would be an insult to plastic.
16
Rebecca O'Keeffe He did. The Hamster we know today is a doppelganger by the name of Dnommah Drahcir. The conspiracy is real.
15
I think they'll use an illegitimate cousin who goes by a different name as a result.
15
They're rubbish, because they're unreliable and poorly built. It's just that they are so beautiful and full of character, that you don't care.
15
+xx rocketman64 xx It might have been a turbo. A turbo diesel, mind you.
15
It's a Volvo, so yes, it will.
14
I love how that R8 was behind throughout the race, yet won.
14
That, and it was probably staged.
