Hardly! they are just so massive and powerful that they don't need to be super smart, nature doesn't get it wrong, they are as intelligent as they need to be...
5
Why? a spotted hyena is a very important part of the ecosystem... stop believing crap about hyenas, they are fantastic, wonderful animals that are FAR mor willing and chill to share this kill than any leopard! There are numerous videos online of spotted hyenas SHARING their own kill with the leopard! Not hard to find! Hyenas are far more intelligent than ANY big cat... they are good animals...
5
The python wasn't big enough
5
Hahaa stolen from a leopard 🐆 lions scavenge too! Predators do what is necessary..
5
shiiit! humans are even WORSE! our historical wars are documented forever... we are very, very brutal to each other, constantly devising new ways to kill each other... animals are behaving the same as they have, with teeth/claws etc. for 100's of 1000's of years, one cannot compare a human to an animal, really
5
Humans do all of this and more, our morals can be disgraceful... we just don't get to hear the gory bits, people torture each other all the time, hardly ever for food either... from Vlad the Impaler to horrific sexual sadistic serial killers, horror goes on around us
5
Who "villainise" the leopard?
5
They are super smart, up their with elephants, crows, bees & octopus..
5
Hippos dislike any disturbance in their part of the river, sort of short-sighted, cantankerous disposition, ahaha they kill lions, crocs, people etc. they like zero intruders! I still love hippopotamus...what a name! They used to extend up into Egypt! Their habitat used to be immense! Right at the start of the Nile! Until humans invented high powered rifles and drained/dammed the rivers, their habitat is now a fraction of their former glory..
5
@azmagaref Yep, I love lions (and leopards) I think it's an absolute tragedy that there are only an estimated 20,000 lions left in the wild. There were around 200,000 in 1900 but lions have disappeared from over 90% of their former range 😥
5
such a good video! I wanted the lizard to escape, cos he put up an amazing battle to live, but we all know...snakes a gotta eat too..
5
thankfully they are good breeders and there are plenty of them to go around ....
5
@imbq_fx Yep, I never confuse leopards with lions... I've seen the hyena feeding with the lioness video too on a much larger prey animal though
5
Even a piece of horn from a baby rhino is worth US$30,000...blame the people wanting to buy it too! The Chinese and the Vietnamese..
5
Too amazing for words...but the croc couldn't exactly bite him, could he...🤣 he might have lost the lot!
5
@marcreeves5980 ~ they are considered 'vulnerable' all you have to do is look at a map of their previous range...and where they are today.
5
the female spotted hyenas are a very large animal, they are not generally worried about a leopard, even 1 on 1 ... loads of videos of them interacting together online, never hardly fighting though... they're not dumb, they won't risk fighting injuries, it's not worth it, they gotta be able to hunt the next day.....
5
@life_atlas ~ I know, right! they feel the need to kill every other carnivore on sight, leopards, hyenas, wild dogs, cheetah etc. they slaughter cheetah cubs with glee, these other animals I mentioned do not set out to kill each other, only the lions 😞
5
@WSFM_Rex Ok, miss.
5
Lions eat rotting meat ALL THE TIME! It's not hard to get the truth! The videos are right in front of you! Lions eat rotten meat all of the time! It's gut-churning but normal
4
@Tonetare ~ have you not watched any African nature videos? lions kill hunting dogs all the time! lions kill cheetahs (and their cubs) hyenas, leopards, other lions (and their cubs) they kill everything they come across...
4
They always do, they are major scavengers on the plains! A lion only has a successful kill ratio of 10-15% compared to say, a hyena which kills around 80-85% of its attacks on prey animals. People are very mistaken and think it's the opposite way around! It's not hard to get the truth! I still love lions very much x
4
Yet the leopard wasn't distracted?
4
Kruger Sightings - i do! Im upset that they are all endangered too.
4
@noelnoni ~ no problem fangirl
4
Tell that to lions...
4
Lions eat their prey while it's still alive too. All the time, judging on the amount of videos there are, where we can see it actually happening.
4
@Young_Dab - l did not like my own comment! Also I never said all animals are mammals, l said all animals that feed their babies MILK are mammals, did you really not know this!? wow!
4
I love them! They have a very important job in controlling the herds of herbivores, or they'll eat themselves to death with high numbers, there are only 1 carnivore, for every 100 herbivores, something like that...these hunting dogs, along with lions, leopards, hyenas etc. perform a very critical job...it's nature at its finest
4
@soumyajyotistraveldiary1309 - thankyou 😊 I like hyenas (all 4 species) very much
4
Why? They are experiencing a live kill on their safari...I would be very excited too...they were not that bad, I've heard worse!
4
Don't worry the lion knew that it was a hyena, they have evolved together for millions of years..
4
@anthonyt425 ~ or those suffering from cancer
4
What a dreadful attitude you doom-sayers have, cheer up, why don't ya's?? Always with the negative BS... why are 'you' people like this?
4
It doesn't know where to run to, it would usually just follow its mother.
4
he "walked"? shit, here I was, thinking he could barely, stand, all shaky on his poor half severed spinal cord...my bad...
4
Wow! the goanna actually nabbed a still warm googy, well done lizard, ya gotta eat 😊
4
@pabloduke2887 - ? a fox is not a dog though... they could never mate together, totally different species
4
ridiculous comment... the folks filming the actual incident, were in a different vehicle...no one knew what was gonna happen smh
4
@ss-vm7vw ~ it is a young male...
4
@ss-vm7vw ~ when they grow one! It can take over 18 months...this is a male lion
4
and the spotted hyenas!
4
Leopards appear to be quite intelligent for a big cat, lions, living in prides, where life is slightly easier don't 'need' the cleverness of a fairly solo cat, like the leopard... of course, the African lion is not 'dumb' but compared to an animal like the spotted hyena (or even the striped hyena...) they are! SH are one of the smartest animals on Earth! not the stupid, bumbling creatures they are portrayed as by Disney etc. but highly intelligent, they are hanging around under the leopards tree in case the leopards prey falls to the ground 😆 I felt sorry for the genet that the leopard had caught/killed, they are generally smart little carnivores too...
4
~ is that what your folks said about you? otherwise why would you have this attitude? you learned it from someone 🤔
4
Male lions are the biggest scavengers/thieves on the African continent, they would have ALL scattered and left the food for the lions...they are not STUPID, no?
4
This one's for all you people who hate hyenas.
4
These big spiders catch birds in Australia too... I'm in SW Western Australia... across from the Indian Ocean... so we have these giant spiders too, they look identical!! totally HARMLESS to a human being, of course, these spiders are totally wonderful animals, amazing in every sense/way...let them LIVE! coz...why not...we are all Earthlings, we cannot just kill/crush some species because we humans, do not 'like' them... I love birds, but I love arachnids too...I love ALL species, in their own ecology, where they are supposed to be...
4
They don't behave as badly as people though..
4
Yep cheetahs are considered a vulnerable species, thankfully the serval is catergorised as 'least concern' ...
4
@tomaslopezcuezudo8528 ~ I think this "pathetic pair of jackals" got what they wanted, do you? Team work...one bites the mothers legs, hard, she gives chase, one rushes in to bite the calf, jackals have tremendous stamina and would have worn out the mother 😞 they are also very intelligent, jackals. Plus they gotta eat too...I believe the end was probably so gruesome that they didn't want to show it...
