  9. The globe map covers a 3D surface. Project a 3D surface onto a 2D surface and you automatically get distortion because they are different shape surfaces. It does not mean the original 3D map is distorted.

  21.  @hannaedwards13  The Gleason azimuthal projection is a globe map; only longitudinal distances are in proportion. FE’ers have to produce even a crude map, just wave Gleason’s projection around. On a FE you would be able see for several hundred miles before dust & moisture reduced the view to a haze. None of them have done it.

The ancient Greeks deduce the Earth was a globe circa 500BC from the motion of the sun, horizons, angle to Polaris matching latitude, constellations changing with latitude, two celestial poles and lunar eclipses having circular shadows, all verifiable by anybody & everybody. A spherical Earth was the centrepoint of the Ptolemaic model in 100AD. The world was essentially fully mapped in the 19th century AD. NASA was formed in 1958AD. The concept of a globe did not originate with NASA.

  47.  @saciabdo9080  The purely longitudinal distances are accurate on an azimuthal projection like Gleason’s but latitudinal distances become increasingly stretched as you move away from the centre. Note the shape of Australia on the Gleason projection. The distortion doesn’t faze FE’ers and they assiduously avoid explaining how direct flights between southern continents are possible.

  48. What do you think we do in labs? If a hypothesis was an assumption then we wouldn’t spend our trying to disprove them. Theories are built from the hypotheses that can be disproved. Theses are the culmination of several years testing hypotheses.

  49.  @andrewmurphy2133  No, I kept it simple. Earth, Mars & the moon have sequentially weaker gravity. The Earth also benefits from having a strong magnetic field that deflects solar winds, a flow of particles from the sun that would gradually strip an atmosphere much like rivers erode rock. Mars's magnetic field is weak, the moon's non-existent. Consequently the Earth has retained most of its atmosphere, Mars has a much thinner atmosphere than Earth's and the moon has none. While Venus's field is weaker than Earth's it has been sufficient to enable Venus to retain its atmosphere.

  50. ​ @andrewmurphy2133  As I said earlier, air pressure declines with increasing altitude until it becomes a vacuum; there is no point where there is an abrupt drop in pressure. A vacuum doesn't suck; pressure means air molecules will expand into it. Atmosphere is slowly lost but would require longer than the lifetime of the sun to drop significantly. The Voyager probes are currently leaving the solar system and have yet to encounter a dome.
