"Men are from Mars, women are from Venus." "What about gays?" "Gays are from Uranus."

Why is Belarus ignored? And a number of other present-day countries whose territories used to be ruled by these dynasties.

Most of the Hebrew (as well as other nations') names are harshly mispronounced in English. It's just a linguistic fact, accept it.

It is also worth noting that there are 2 rivaling schools in the Israeli Biblical Archaeology, represented by Israel Finkelstein (Tel-Aviv Univ.) mentioned here and Yosef Garfinkel (Jerusalem Univ.) (ironically, they share the same element 'finkel' in their surnames :) ). Finkelstein insists that David and Solomon were mere tribal chieftains, if existed at all, and there was no such powerful and organised statehood as the Kingdoms of Judea and Israel (Biblical minimalism?), while Garfinkel tries to provide more archaeological confirmations for the Biblical narrative.

@UsefulCharts Well, in the case of Hebrew names it's more a tradition than a mistake. E.g., all Js are Ys in the original (Jonathan should be pronounced Yonatan, Joppa - Yafo etc.)

Thank you for providing a very clear picture, including the tree of languages. Many people mistakenly think that Sanskrit is the mother of most European languages, while it's just a twice or trice removed cousin to them.

Thank you for a great tree, as always! The state emblem of the modern Ukraine is used as Rurik's family crest. So funny! :D
5
When he mentioned Homer with those emblems still on the screen, I was expecting Simpson's face to appear.

Great! However, the Slavs didn't arrive from Asia. They formed in the Danube or the Dnieper region that are wholly in Europe.
4
Also, Z in Italian (and in German) is pronounced TS (as in pizza). This works across-the-board, not just for Lucrezia, but for Lorenzo as well. And the accents...
4
In which way?

"There is the logic of intentions and the logic of circumstances, and the latter always overrules the former." J. V. Stalin
3
Well, early medieval subjugations weren't mild and peaceful anywhere.

On this day 925 years ago (June 19th, 1097AD) the knights of the 1st Crusade together with the Byzantines ended the siege of Nicaea and took the city from the Turks. Congratulations on the 1st victory of the 1st Crusade!

A very good point in stating that monarchs are not the 1st in the queue of those who must be removed , and showing the portrait of one of the class that is the 1st.
2
The stupid political agenda is not ignored but manipulated here. Ignored is Belarus whose present territory was mostly if not completely within ancient Rus', and a number of other modern countries once ruled by these dynasties.
2
@UsefulCharts How about full names for the Vlads? (Vladislav?)
2
Wasn't she related to the Dukes of Marlborough and ancient continental nobles e.g. Merovingians? If so, all those so-called Windsors are mere low-borns compared to her.

Ave Maria! Deus vult! ✠ 🗡

@giuliaconcialdi2758 Grazie! What is the correct accent in Rovere?
2
What about the Rurikids of which the Romanovs were a branch?
2
"Man was I porn in the wrong timeline" --- Excuse me, were you.. what?? ;D

5:52 - The mentions of "invasions" are kinda biased here. Where is the US invasion of Afghan. which was quite lengthy and the UK also participated? As well as the invasions of Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya etc. etc.?
2
11:04 - with the second daughter in a row shouldn't we return upwards on the tree to some uncle?

@eduardog3000 there is no Year Zero, but there is the Point Zero on the timeline, to the right of which lies the 1st of January 1AD, and to the left of which is the 31st of December 1BC.
1
@mousaey even with the "AD and negative AD" terminology there will be no "year zero" in the form of a 1-year-long time period named "0 AD" or "0 BC", same as there is no span named "the 0th unit" on any axis of any coordinate system. There is the "point zero" (or maybe the "instant zero" if we talking about a timeline) in a millisecond (figuratively) to the right from which it is 1AD, and -1AD (or 1BC) to the left.
1
@rianza4523 well, finally they lost everything including Jerusalem.
1
16:00 - Why suddenly the Carolingian imperial inheritance had to stick that firmly to the county title of Burgundy and to follow it even via a female line while there was the legitimate male heir Raymond?
1
@volodyad195 A trident-like symbol or a diving falcon as many like to interpret it is completely all right because as you said it was used in seals of many Rurikid princes. What is irrelevant is the use of the modern Ukrainian heraldic colours in an attributed Rurikid coat of arms. Or did the author mean Rurik came from what is now Sweden? I think more appropriate would be a golden trident/falcon on a red shield as this combination was mainly used in Rus princes' banners.

Everyone would agree that a monarch is supposed to be with his people in times of trouble, wouldn't you? So, considering the behaviour of the current king who locked himself in a luxury hotel in Bavaria with dozens of concubines, while the pandemic is ravaging the world, the Thai people may think seriously about switching to a republic.

Moses was Jahwist, I'd guess?

Ancestor? For sure? When did they invent time travel?

The Bible is literally a Mosaic work, in all senses of the word 'mosaic'.
1
It happened because the earliest printed books in English were ordered from continental Europe (Germany?) where they didn't have stamps for "þ" and replaced them with other letters that looked similar to them.

Did you see this new layout in your nightdream? :)

The chart of the Asian dynasties looks about same dense as that of Europe. However, there is a crucial difference - unlike Europe, Asian countries' dynasties don't intermarry.
1
The ancestry of Lucrezia Normanni is quite apparent, but could the Rovere family also descend from the Normans (aka Vikings or rovers)?
1
12:10 - The Babylonian Exile in this scheme is just half a century long (586-539 BCE), however it's worth noting that for some northern Israelites the captivity started in 722 BCE and they also contributed some Mesopotamian concepts into the corpus of scriptures.
1
16:44 - Serious typos in the years for Henry VI, for both his king and emperor reigns.
1
Eleanor of Aquitaine is called the Grandmother of Europe. How does her house compare to the house of Garsenda?
1
A cousin. In some languages this relationship is described something like "brother once removed" or maybe more correctly "second brother".

Are you a normannist bot? :)

They delete comments here, how nice. The liberal censorship and intolerance to another opinion in action.

It would be worth mentioning that Catherine de Medici is (in)famous for the St. Bartholomew's Day massacre when in one night they assassinated many times (x15?) more people than were executed throughout the entire reign of Ivan IV the Terrible.
1
On Canadian coins she is presented as Elisabeth II and titled queen (regina).

Some Latin names are missing.

but why does she have the Austrian flag behind herself on the photo?
