  14. Petty little Putin. Crimea always belonged to the Crimean tatars. They have a two thousand year history of developing their identity in Crimea. Russia deported many of them to Turkey (under the Soviets) - just another vile case of ethnic cleansing of indigenous people committed by Russian regimes - and replaced them with Russians. Now Russia likes to claim that Crimea is ethnically Russian!  Well, that always happens after ethnic cleansing and usurpation of territory, doesn't it? It doesn't make it true. Russians also tried to eliminate the Ukrainians with the engineered famine known as the Holodomor; but Ukrainians won't give up. In fact, they had a civilisation there long before Russia did - and they will win. Glory to Ukraine!

  16. No, the actual reason is Putin wants a permanent warm water port, and the enormous undeveloped gas deposits underneath the Donbas region. He also wants the excellent gas storage and pipeline infrastructure through Ukraine, stretching to the border of the EU. For years now he has been building extensive coastal infrastructure connecting between Russia, Europe and the oil and gas deposits opening up in the Arctic as Arctic sea ice is destroyed by global warming. Putin isn't a "discerning and cultured man;" he is a sociopath who is sacrificing hundreds of thousands of Russian men for his greed, on the altar of Mammon.

  41. Putin will explode a dirty bomb inside Russia's border and then blame it on Ukraine. His reckless, sociopathic deployment of untrained recruits, without functioning weapons, into the front line proves he has no compunctions against sacrificing Russians to his ambitions. Following said explosion he will blow up the dam near Kherson in "retaliation," destroying the water supply to Crimea in the process, and killing many people (and Ukrainian, and expendable - to him - Russian, soldiers in the flood). In response to these atrocities the 93rd Brigade (now stationed on the border to Ukraine) will enter Ukraine, and Putin will deploy a tactical nuke in Ukraine (claiming that the US has invaded Russian territory). Should that happen, NATO will become involved. This is just one possible sequence of how Putin could escalate a world war.
