@impeach4666 NAFTA didn't change that much. "NAFTA displays the classic free-trade quandary: Diffuse benefits with concentrated costs. While the economy as a whole may have seen a slight boost, certain sectors and communities experienced profound disruption. A town in the Southeast loses hundreds of jobs when a textile mill closes, but hundreds of thousands of people find their clothes marginally cheaper. Depending on how you quantify it, the overall economic gain is probably greater but barely perceptible at the individual level; the overall economic loss is small in the grand scheme of things, but devastating for those it affects directly.” One is clear: US is losing competiton with other economies, and tries varous desperately measures to stay on top. US has been also continuously amassing huge national debt for a long long time now. The time of reckoning is close.

@impeach4666 The painful truth is that US manufacturing is not economically competitive. ”While thousands of U.S. auto workers undoubtedly lost their jobs as a result of NAFTA, they may have fared worse without it. By integrating supply chains across North America, keeping a significant share of production in the U.S. became an option for carmakers. Otherwise, they may have been unable to compete with Asian rivals, causing even more jobs to depart. "Without the ability to move lower-wage jobs to Mexico we would have lost the whole industry," UC San Diego economist Gordon Hanson told The New York Times in March 2016.”

@impeach4666 You can thank capitalism: everything non-profitable must die. "Nothing personal, just business."

@impeach4666 NAFTA was signed to further free trade, one of the tenants of capitalism, imbecile. If you are against NAFTA, that means you're against free trade, against competition, and ultimately against capitalism. Wake up, sheeple!

@impeach4666 Of course! What is cheaper labor (in countries where production is relocated to) for business? It's either more profit, or competitive advantage. And when China is breathing down your neck in terms of production costs - production elsewhere has no other choice than to cut down the costs themeselves. Or prepare to be out of business. That's capitalism competition, baby!

Why stop at "hacking", go full extent and call it "russian hacking"! Never fails. Imagine the headlines: "Russia hacked our stock markets!" Gonna be a bomb!

That's why I never got to see Memento: seems like a muddy incoherent mess.

Why "free market" doesn't work? Is there even such a thing as "free market", or it's just an idealistic concept?

What stops flipping a normal case on the side though?
