  1. +Alan C They do not get to pick what things get funded and cut out items that have already been passed into law at their whim. They fund the existing government programs or not and this was the first time we risked default. The "crisis" was ALL, 100% on Cruise and the GOP. If the Obama would have capitulated it would have been akin to paying off kidnappers by sacrificing their signature legislation. The GOP was holding the country hostage to make a political point and Cruse was the face of it. They were trying to circumvent legislation that the last congress needed a super majority to pass by refusing to do their job which had nothing to do with the bill he wanted to crush. The informed know who was to blame and who forced to downgrade of our credit rating in a failed hostage bid.

They are both essentially the same.  If we look back at Clinton he is only shiny in comparison with the asshats the book ended him.   He opened a lot of dark doors and bowed to the corporate masters that now run us.  Neither of these two are progressives and we need to ensure we have a candidate who works for us if we do not want the same lackluster disappointing effort we have seen from Obama.

CommonSense No they do not "maintain some kind of ultra unrealistic moral high ground", the goal was to create a wing of the party who promotes leaders who work for us and not the highest bidder. Their entire focus should be in promoting candidates that are not intrinsically corrupt by virtue of who pays them. The idea that the desire for uncorrupted leadership is unrealistic and pie in the sky is stupid, your painful false equivalency sounds like it was written in an establishment think tank.

Calm down, they are saving lives not taking them in this case. They may be assholes the efficacy of the vaccine and it's protections are undeniable. There numerous other options besides taking Pfizer, no one is going to shoot you in your drive over this drama queen.

He filled his cabinet with Goldmen Sachs lackeys and continued the neo con foreign policy of his overtly war monger predecessor.   49. Javier Navarro When acting as authoritarian they were acting right wing. None of them promoted free speech, free assembly, free press, freedom of movement all hallmarks of the actual left. Their universal appeal to nationalism, military expenditure, the cult power of a single leader are not left wing ideals and they clearly basterdized their original movements in a bid for power. All of their systems were supposed to be egalitarian and classless but they were definitively structured and personal freedom and individual rights were crushed by law in the name of maintaining power for an elite. They may have started as on the left but became a platform for elements that are distinctly defined as right wing if you look at the terms definition. All of their failures sprout from actions the left vocally objects to even today even as the right continues to advocate and employ them. Your ability to understand nuance is missing and you look stupid as you miss the point badly, over and over.
