The elections should be managed by a SEPARATE AND INDEPENDENT STATUTORY AUTHORITY charged with the responsibility of setting electoral boundaries to prevent gerrymandering, determining how many polling places and where to locate said polling places, and SIMPLIFYING AND STANDARDISING THE VOTING PROCESS! This leads to the next fault in this list, Fault #5 - Too many voting systems! There should be ONLY ONE METHOD of voting and, in light of the disputed 2000 election that saw George W. Bush elected on a questionable ballot paper, NO MACHINERY OR ELECTRONICS WHATSOEVER SHOULD BE EMPLOYED IN THE PROCESS OF VOTING!

The Supreme Court's role is to interpret the Constitution, and determine what laws at both the State and Federal Level are Constitutionally valid or invalid. But this DOES NOT GIVE THE SUPREME COURT ANY RIGHT TO OVERTURN ANY LAWS WHATSOEVER! The Supreme Court can only MAKE ADJUDICATIONS BASED ON LAWS AS THEY STAND! As it stands now, the Supreme Court has FAR TOO MUCH POWER AND IS ABUSING THE POWERS IT DOES HAVE, PLUS ASSUMING POWERS IT HAS NO RIGHT TO ASSUME! Laws are enacted or removed by the LEGISLATURE, being Congress and Senate. If a law is deemed by the Supreme Court to be invalid, then the Supreme Court should ADVISE THE LEGISLATURE TO ACT! The Supreme Court has ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT WHATSOEVER to overturn ANY law(s).

  21.  @davedthomson  I'm in Australia and we also have three divisions, Our Parliament's lower house, The House Of Representatives enacts or repeals laws as required, the upper house, The Senate scrutinises the laws before they can be passed, noting amendments that need to be made, then sending the law(still as a bill, technically speaking) back to the House Of Reps for those amendments to be made. In the event that a bill passes the lower house unamended, but the upper house rejects the bill as unamended, or with amendments the upper house rejects, and vice-versa. If this happens three times consecutively, the Prime Minister then has the trigger to call a General Election, dissolving both houses. The High Court in Australia DOES NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY, OR EVEN RIGHT to overturn any laws once enacted by Parliament. The High Court's sole purpose is to make adjudications BASED ON THE LAWS AS THEY STAND! The Australian system does have its flaws, but even with these flaws, our system is FAR AND AWAY SUPERIOR to that messed-up pile of manure that is the American system.
