@doncorleone8686 "how Scotland would react" Scotland can handle that no problem. Trump is not the center of the universe, nor the economic powerhouse everybody believes he is. Economies are not driven by the rich and mighty. They are driven by small to medium businesses.
4
Stands to reason. The CIA will have known this long before the news did. And the CIA will have briefed the president immediatly.
4
Not so much insurrection, but being an "accessory after the fact" who provides "aid and comfort" to a felon. First, Trump needs to be convicted, then these dummies will be next.
4
There must be a virus going through the republican party that causes short-term memory loss. The infamous Pete Hoekstra (republican ambasador to NL) pulled the same stunt in a surreal interview. The interviewer proposed to rewind the tape when he flatly denied saying something he said seconds before. Hoekstra lost all respect as a result.

The Bible has the standard that when someone brings (civil) suit against someone, and it turns out to be on false grounds, the claimant is punished with what he claimed off the defendant. That puts an end to frivolous lawsuits real quick...
4
Misleading the public, like she is doing, should be a federal offence.

@danoduncan1763 Agreed! I will not visit the 'States as long as those discriminating rules are in power that give a customs officer the right to force any foreigner to unlock their electronic devices for inspection, without even a warrant. My devices contain company secrets, and I will not let anyone "inspect" them without a warrant. And I expect protection when visiting a nation, and not to be treated like a potential terrorist. There are plenty other reasons why I will not visit, but this discriminating Bush law was the first.
3
The party of Greed and Selfishness. Remember that the first thing Trump did was to dedicate the nation to those two idols.
3
@joyshepherd1053 Yeah. Wearing a cross makes you a Christian just as much as eating mutton makes you a sheep. That woman is not a Christian.
3
You could begin by giving him a Glasgow Kiss as welcome ;-)
3
And they should be.
3
@janh7964 Indeed we will. But if Trump is not convicted for the crimes we all saw him commit, any USA bruhaha about democracy or freedom is going to sound very hollow. Bunch of bloody hypocrites, especially those republicans!
3
@granvillebutler5449 "Democrats need to play offense and hardball" Exactly. They need to actually use their rights. Fight this in the courts. Send the Marshals. Dig up corruption. Impeach people. Why the hell has Barr not been impeached or indicted?
3
Yeah. I remember many times that the USA lectured other nations and boasted that they were going to bring democracy. Sounds a bit hollow now...
3
If the Trump team can not substantiate Trump being in any way disadvantaged by this relationship, they should be indicted for making a frivolous argument and defaming Mrs Willis.
3
Bin Laden believed in something. At least, something else than himself.
3
Sadly, he can't be dismissed. But he can be prosecuted ;-) My hope and expectation is that he will find this out pretty soon.
3
@goldstarcwi > there is no evidence Liar. There is plenty of evidence. Mueller literally said that if any other american had done what Trump has done, he would be in jail right now (Mueller used political language, but even so was very clear about this). The only reason Trump is not in jail right now is because the DoJ holds that a sitting president can not be indicted for any crime.
3
Pelosi should press charges. That is how you deal with bullying at the workplace.
3
There will come a time when the Rule of Law returns to the USA. Perjury will again be a thing.
3
Putin taking out his best asset? Not a chance.
3
@DontliveInPlymouthNN Is that the only thing you can do? Accusing others of doing something bad? So sad. Who was the president responsible for prosecuting things like that??? Did Trump go after democrats in the aftermath. No he didn't. So those cases of rioting and arson were NOT the fault of democrats, otherwise Trump would have been all over them in the courts. 'Cause Fox News doesn't count, you can say anything at Fox. In court, you get jailed for perjury.
3
@leotachaney7322 That is because your 4yr old niece was right and Trump is not.
3
Just like Marie-Antoinette, Malaria does not live on the same planet as us mere humans.
2
@amydennison2910 > we most likely will be walking America right off a cliff Yes, you are on a very dangerous path. November is the last opportunity to stop it, but it may already be too late. There is no doubt about what will happen if Trump is not stopped soon: USA democracy and freedoms will end. The scary part for us (the rest of the world) is that then the mightiest military in the world will become a militia used for personal gain, with no-one able to oppose it, bullying other nations at will. Let us pray Trump and his cronies will be soundly defeated, and real reform initiated. And then pray that the morons will not make it all for naught at the election after that. The USA has allowed corruption to spread too far, and now it needs to fight it back.
2
@raybin6873 Makes it easier to round them up. The Trump party will be put on the international list of terrorist organisations.
2
The way the Justice system treats Trump is a terrible indictment against the USA. In order to be a democracy, you first need the Rule of Law. I.e that everybody is the same before the Law, just like everybody is the same before God.
2
@eden_aumakua > This is the U.S. - not Italy. Any idea what "Sic semper tyrannis." means? That is part of the Virginia state seal! Trump would certainly not be the first american president to have a Mussolini moment. For those who don't know, Mussolini was removed from office, arrested, then freed by the Germans, and was later killed when he fled towards Switzerland. So I am not sure what moment Jason is referring to, I guess the execution. I AM STRONGLY AGAINST THAT: JUSTICE NEEDS TO HAVE ITS COURSE!
2
Or Ceaucescu, Hussain, Gadaffi, or any number of dictators. Being a dictator is a nice job, but it does not have a good pension plan...
2
Don't forget that it isn't just Trump who caused this. Senate Republicans blocked reasonable judges, and appointed these hacks. Senate Republicans refused to condemn Trump in his impeachment trials. Republicans in Congress are blocking everything Biden wants to do, so Ukrainians are dying and the US government is about to shutdown. Again. VOTE BLUE!
2
I hope the judge takes into account the pattern that Trump displays throughout his trials. Giving him a 1000$ fine per offense is a joke to Trump, the only thing he will change his behaviour for is time in jail.
2
SCOTUS should remember that if they rule that a President is immune for crimes committed unless he has been impeached and convicted in Congress and the Senate, that there is then nothing to stop President Biden from removing all opposition from Congress, the Senate and SCOTUS. They'd all be at the mercy of Biden.
2
It is spelled martial, as in military. Has nothing to do with the Marshals.
2
The difficulty the US justice system has in dealing with Trump demonstrates one thing very clearly: the Separation of Powers in the USA has been compromised. It will require changes in how DAs and Judges are appointed / elected to fix this.
2
"Create economic troubles in the hope that will help Republicans". How sick does a party need to be to purposefully torpedo the economy in the hope of scoring political points. The more I know about republicans, the more I wish to see that party destroyed. It is EVIL. Demonic.
2
He wants to make himself look like a victim, so he wants twitter to take him down. All Twitter needs to do is to add fact-checking warnings to his tweets, which they should have done from the start. But kudos for finally doing it. It is a brave step to stand up to this bully, who also happens to be the most powerful person on earth.
2
That is so good. No means no.
2
@zzanatos2001 > plan to vote straight ticket Republican That is silly. The problem is not just Trump, the GOP is corrupt to its core. Why else did Moskow Mitch not take the opportunity last winter to get rid of Trump and substitute him with the VC? The president would still be GOP! And MM would not have been able to do that without the support of the rest of the GOP senators. Whether to condemn T or not was a free, personal choice for each of the senators. The GOP is corrupted throughout.
2
@stephenrioux6821 > Trump needs to be charged and convicted to be pardoned I don't think so. Nixon escaped justice by being pardoned by Ford, for any and all crimes committed while president. Trump might try to use the same exit strategy. Such a pardon might be contested by e.g. the supreme court and/or the next president, but that is uncharted legal territory. It was not contested in the Nixon case.
2
Great news that abortion referenda are on the ballots. That means people have an extra reason to come out and vote.
2
@timberho3935 There is a line beyond which free speech becomes a hate crime. The woman has crossed that line. Your right to free speech ends where it threatens my (or Pelosi's) safety.
2
More for Me, Nothing for Thee: fitting!
2
@JP Morgan "We wish him all the best"
2
@doncorleone8686 It proves that money is no substitute for character. Besides, it may well turn out that taking in account all loans he has outstanding, I have much more money than he has. I am not due to pay $400m+ to the banks this year.
2
@doncorleone8686 Where did you get that fabulous accounting insight? Most of these loans are mortgages where you can loan almost up to the estimated value of the property, and Mr D has been known to inflate the value of properties to get a bigger loan. Inflate value for the banks, depress value for the tax man, that is his MOD. It will probably cause his bankruptcy this year.
2
The Democrats still do not understand how Republicans work. Republicans are only interested in POWER. They have taken off the gloves long ago. Democrats must fight them using every trick available to them, including prosecuting them where applicable.
2
If Trump reacts like this against someone who is very rich and influential, just imagine what he will do to normal people who stand in his way. Or even want to get what belongs to them. Trump has a long history of taking advantage of people, causing businesses to go bankrupt after working for him. NOT someone you want to lead a country. Vote 💙 people, there is a LOT at stake here. The USA can overcome 4 more years of democratic rule. It will not overcome Trump getting back in power.
2
@dennisg4666 Good point. Triage should be a job for the politicians responsible. In full view of the camera's. These bastards should understand that their hot air has consequences.
2
When will this traitor (Trump) be sent to jail?
2
@todd-617 You have weird ideas about churches. Probably, there are some like what you described, but most are not.
