  6. Seeing how Russia can bombard Ukraine with impunity makes my blood boil. We must allow Ukraine to retaliate these strikes, and provide them with some proper cruise missiles of their own, to destroy Russia's bomber fleet. As we Dutch say, those who play bounce should be ready for the ball (Wie kaatst kan de bal verwachten). Or Biblically, those who sow the wind will reap the whirlwind.

  8. I have always expected the Kherson region to be the area where the Ukrainians will achieve breakthrough. Let's see what happens! As the battle towards Tokmak has stabilized, surely the Russians can now move troops from there to strengthen the Kherson front.

  12. Everybody is expecting the major assault to happen in the south. Me, I think the Ukrainians will start for real on the eastern flanks. The pro-Russians are over-extended there, on an assault footing and demoralised from months of being decimated. Hit between Bakhmut and Donetsk, then down to Novoazovsk, using the Hruzkyi Yalanchyk river to protect their eastern flank.

  14. Very nice to see that the Russian status-based system is still keeping competent people from being promoted. This is by design, as competent military leaders would be a HUGE threat to Putin. As e.g. Beria found out. But it makes the Russian army very ineffective. Russia is in a hopeless mess. Putin should just call it a victory and withdraw his troops. Best for him personally, for Russia, for Ukraine, for the world.

  16. I wonder how that sheet metal of those turtle tanks holds up to near misses from grenades. My guess is that it will crumple and interfere with the operation of the tank. Like, prevent the inmates from escaping...
