Hate te break it to you guys, but it's just a Micra, haha! And it's fancy compared to the older ones. If you want bare, bare bones now; Nissan Pixo, Toyota Aygo, Citroen/Peugeot C1/108. Damn, how posh and kitted up are normal new cars in North America ?? enjoy..

What I like best about the Prius Prime is the future RAV4 PRIME which is said to have 300hp, some 90hp more than the regular. It takes a while to understand how the eCVT hybrid synergy systems work. But essentially, the total regulated power output is engine and the battery (98hp+24hp combined), but the battery in the Prime is rated at under 90hp which can be used in full EV mode, but not in hybrid mode. The only thing stopping full use of the battery with the engine is the power capacity of the larger MG2 unit. And the RAV4 PRIME should have a way bigger one. My scant fleeting dream is a Prime with a simple MG2 beefing to have over a theoretical 180 hp, and potentially a 0-100km/h in less than 8 seconds; because all of the energy is built in there!

The lack of rapid charging is unacceptable for the Smart. In the EU, it can use 3-phase AC up to 22kW. For such a small battery it can charge up (here) from flat in less than 45 mins on the most ubiquitous chargers installed out there.

@HenrySavageMode At the right price with DC rapid charging. The old 500e was 24kWh with only level 2 charging, that sold well because they were on stupid lease deals because the former and late FCA CEO didn't care to know what he was doing and just wanted to sell Dodges and Jeeps which the 500e was their only key in doing.

@alfrredd I'm aware of the new Panda global crossover architecture. it is unfortunate that Stellantis wouldn't continue to invest further in the 500e chassis it would be a big waste. If the 500e is so significant where they're backward-engineering a hybrid into it they should try looking towards a Giardinia estate and a Panda mini. But clearly profitable, boutique marketing is what's given to the 500e and it would be hard to see it go.
