Don't be a fool

It gets more complex when waters are muddied and when laws and markets left untouched from reform

The US is definitely not trying, sorry but lol. And without the US' blessing, the EU will be stuck alone ..

That's the automakers' own problem they created. They didn't want to invest in EVs because they believed there'll be no market for them if they don't invest. And practically all of them have to bid for third party battery suppliers while Tesla was in partnership with Panasonic. Not to mention, Nissan had their own battery company but foolishly sold it off.

Dead on 🎯💀

@TimothyCHenderson Well, it's the same reason why we don't see entry level petrol cars anymore. Citroën C1, Peugeot 108, Toyota Aygo, and all the combustion variants of the VW UP! were simply not making enough profit to please the business men, even if they're more sustainable options than Crossovers. Small and affordable cars have minute profit margins, over time those profit margins decrease in value and they were simply axed. A lot of people wrongly blame EVs when it has been a market wide trend of inflation created by the competitive sales of premium, +20% profit margin vehicles like Audis, BMWs and Teslas Look at Hyundai and Kia's best sellers. Diesel powered crossover Tuscons and giant EV halo cars designed to compete with Tesla, Audi and BMW.

@LeviMatteo Weather has been strange, people are begining to talk about it. 🙄🌍🔥 The last month saw floods after dry spells, the rain is coming down harder and faster than normal with strong sun in-between. It has already had caused heat and water stress on trees and crops around the country. It's not what we're used to. Weather now is 15-18C and overclouded. Normally it's 13-16°C in July. Light breezes seem to have disappeared. We're a small island in the Atlantic. I've known Italian, Greek and even a Lebanese person who asked why a warm 20°C day in Ireland feels so heavy. It's odd to think that in much warmer and drier countries they found it harder to focus and rest in Ireland. The heat isn't coming directly from the sun, but it sticks to you.

@buddy1155 remove the pressure for external finance like fetching for sponsor deals , how biased can actual journalism really be? And what standard, what foundation is "bias" interpreted from, say - a ruling political party, or a large investment or oil company?

EPP, ALDE

@mlbh2os211 Theeeeeere it is again that funny feeeling
2
@BloomingRecklessly when we observe "leftist" American media, we really are talking about an overton window so dominated by the right wing that time wasters like MSNBC are truthfully centre-right, and use social justice buzz words as their façade or bait. The only "left" media from the USA that I could recall is Democracy Now! .

Who do you think destroyed Libya since 2011?
2
@OrangMation you forgot how decades of profit chasing in industries had an input
2
@talkinghand122 not even all of our benefits, just the benefits and wealth of a few

Money and Market owners say otherwise
2
It was never support. It was abusive neo-colonisation for cheap and exclusive access of resources to sell for giant profits.

Hubris
2
 @Untilitpases one word: Hubris
2
@jackmcquade6693 food security was to ensure market security in a rapidly growing England of the 1840s, and a lot of politicians had teir financial interests in making sure that the Irish Famine and Irish food prices increasing X5 fold was not to reach GB. Food exports from Ireland were protected militarily which is rarely taught to English kids or adults But this is the magnificent legacy of laissez faire economics, freedom of trade, good ol' capitalism which never oppressed or starved nobody.

@@tazdingo5297 FYI, cobalt or coltan long before lithium batteries were and still being mined to remove Sulpher out of oil products. Arguably that demand exceeds that of batteries, and it immediately ends up as slag and not recyclable as batteries.

The comments here are so goddamn self inflicting.

Pretty much. Dust off the guillotine

Nationalise and de-profit all media as a crucial tool for the good of the public?
2
@goldfingerhardcore I think instead of expelling, which includes millions of good polish people living all across Europe, that the EU should implement robust Voting for expats Anyone who still lives in the EU in any other member state should have the right to vote for their home country . This prevents the youth and social brain drain which Hungary and Poland experience, this prevents the expensive reality of committed democratic participants to spend lots of money to fly back home (ala Ireland in 2015, 2018). There is already a signature petition for this where if it reaches its goal it will be brought to the EU Parliament. It's not easy to find however

You have no clue how the Chinese Electric Vehicle market was planned over a decade ago

Forgetting how damaging artificial fertilizer is
2
Not unless we distance ourselves from US doctrine.
2
Executives of Western Automakers squandered everything and betted foolishly that there would be no market for electrification when the writing and legislation had been on the wall for years!
2
But capitalism is freedom.......
2
@Snuskigaste because many established media raises the politicians whilst creating narratives and consent for the people.

Co-operatives

@aprilkevin5835 and what is said control ? And I agree, the government being a law making tool can easily abuse it's power. Regulation can be a problem, in other member states regulation prevents damaging hysteria and profiting off of people's anger and suspicions. This boils down entirely to the discretion of which political party that may be in power to enact such laws. And in reality, if we look at The UK especially, it is the media that serves the political establishment. Consent Manufactured.

Not the Porsche family? 🤔👀

What kind of NAFO twerp got a hold of the titles and uploading?

It gets the green light for lower labour costs and higher profits, if that's what the contractors/developers want. But if 3D printing were in the hands of public good then we'll actually see sone benefit
2
Well that or an Irish sea border. But Arlene doesn't like either. She's very head strong against anything proposed by nationalists or the south just because, like most Unionists.
1
Britain had its chance in 2019 for Labour to negotiate with the EU. But Kid Starver and blairites in the labor party deliberately sabotaged Labour's Jeremy Corbyn for weaponised and racially motivated anti-semitism accusations and forcing labour to sit on the fence on rejoining or renegotiating Brexit.
1
@60odeeman How? Are you just saying that or do you have an explanation.

EPP and big agriculture

Yeah it's called 50-70 years of runaway fossil fuel printing money pumping out CO2 levels not seen in over 4 million years which such Geological apochs normally takes place over 100,000s of years, not 100-50 years from "human" development. Figure out how that'll be a shock to the system
