You realize those employees are going to have to pay a ton of dues and the factory could shut down anyways.
2
I am not a fan of unions. You know they have to be looking at mexico. My understanding is the full time employees make $60 an hour considering benefits.
2
have fun paying substainally more for everything.
2
i have learned over time that poor is a way of life and rich is a also a way of life. No matter what you give poor people, they will always be poor. The same is true about rich people. Whatever benefits they get from the govt, they will always turn it into more money. Poor people waste their money on alcohol,, drugs and high milage KIA's.
2
I keep hearing this "livable wage" thing. Imagine if everyone made $35 plus an hour, the cost of everything would just go up and people would want $60 an hour.
2
@finalcut612 ubi doesn’t discourage labor participation? I remember when the govt was handing out checks during the pandemic and everyone had money but no one was working. They had $3000 bonuses at McDonald’s but no one would work there. I worked my ass off then and might pay my house off soon as a result.
2
@jeffreyherrera5069 I worked while everyone else got drunk every day and now I might be set for the rest of my life and can semi retire. I saw all these fools sitting back on their govt check.
2
@thepoifessor according to fdr, a livable wage in context is a wage just above starvation and bare subsistence. I feel we have met that.
2
if this dude only has $1200 to his name, he has clearly made terrible decisions in his life. Having a union will only protect people like that guy who don't appear to want to work. Also unions will do nothing but take money out of the truckers pockets, increase the prices of everything and hurt the economy.
2
unions destroy businesses. They drive businesses to other countries.
2
@lizziesuarez if these billionares want to buy my land and build skyscrapers on it, i will sell.
2
@TrepidDestiny didn’t they say like 40k jobs were created but that on average they paid like 19k a year?
2
I see massive layoffs in their future
2
yeah your numbers might be slightly off there.
1
@inund8 that just seems a little high given that the total amount of money in circulation is like 21 trillion. It seems unlikely that almost half of that is being used to avoid taxes.
1
@ everyone is greedy on some level. It’s almost the natural state of man.
1
@ I really don’t think there is anything wrong with money. It’s existed forever in one form or another. It’s when people begin to obsess over it. Some people are furious that other people have more money than them. It ruins their lives and marriages. Just be happy with what you have.
1
@ still seems high. The amount of people the estate tax effects is very little. By the time most pass away they have already transferred most of their money
1
@Nazgul265 i think thats just a hard wire into us as humans to want more. The bible also says when it comes to money and stuff, 'For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. Matthew 25:29
1
@pierregravel-primeau702 the topic of tax evasion during the estate process. These people don't die every year. The point is how many wealthy people die every year, which is a few thousand by this reporting. I would assume nearly all of those who die have already transferred nearly all of their wealth to their spouse, family or charity. I just don't think there is a huge pile of money out there waiting to be taxed. The point of this reporting is that they should change the laws. Even if they did it wouldn't amount to much i think.
1
i cant wait to pay substantially more for inferior products and services, thanks unions!!!
1
@Alex-cq1zr I didn’t mention Russia or China. I am saying that’s that happens in a central planned economy. Low income folks think they are going to increase their quality of life but ultimately find desperate poverty. High income people just take the loss and move to another county that has opportunities. So you define communism.
1
@stryfetc1471 90% percent of millionaries were born into working class families and though hard work, luck and smarts got rich. Its hard for the people who have wealth envy to accept that. Most people who inherit wealth blow it in a year or two because they are stupid with money.
1
@joecalta3679 if unions helped companies in any way, they would embrace them. Unions skyrocket labor costs and drive down productivity. Productive employees leave because they have to work next to the guy who shows up drunk every day.
1
@ I am speaking generally. If an entrepreneur can make more money elsewhere they will. Then cities have to offer them massive tax incentives to come back, but by then it’s too late.
1
@ if they could make money using American labor they would.
1
@Carakav seems like everything from more perfect union is fake.
1
they are mad at the wrong people. They need to be mad at the people who have been blowing out spending making the US dollar near worthless.
1
I made $475 on Saturday alone this past week. There are so few drivers out there that I made a killing. The customer will just pay whatever
1
CPI is bogus
1
And yet the president of Harvard plagiarised her thesis. Hilarious.
1
@neuroticnation144 hate to break it to you,the rich are the only ones paying taxes in this county.
1
Exactly! Govt take over of all industries. It’s working so well in Venezuela. Don’t forget, politicians are lazy as the rest of us. Do you want trump or Biden in charge of all health care?? Nope.
1
so the company can't make money with union labor so its closing factories. Sounds typical for unions.
1
Man, if it’s this bad now, wait until universal healthcare kicks is. It will be like Canada where they just tell people to off themselves.
1
The way the govt is spending we will all be billionaires in a few years.
1
@Vector_Ze they do tax the rich. They essentially pay nearly all taxes. Imagine if they stopped working and move away. Economy collapses and people are eating each other in 6 months.
1
People will never understand that unions destroy companies. You might get paid well in the short term, but every day that goes by is one day closer to the plant moving to Mexico. Also, Rivian looses $40k per vehicle the sell. They can't make it much longer.
1
If you think healthcare is bad now; wait until it’s free.
1
@angelesqueda2008 believe me, those folks on the video’s aren’t doing much work anyways. There will always be people who want something for nothing.
1
Get to work so you can give me all those things for free.
1
@Praisethesunson you have bought into the lie that there is unlimited resources, housing etc. and that the rich are hoarding it all. My friend, once socialism comes to this county you will see starvation like you have never seen before. Farmers will destroy their equipment like they did in russia and watch every one stave because they govt will take their land.
1
@PWB69 Free internet, free food, free housing, free cars are a human right.
1
@ that’s impressive. How much of that do you think you will have to pay in taxes if you had to guess.
1
$30 an hour? Are you nuts?
1
@TheOG-GG The inflation numbers are bogus. The numbers are obviously higher by simply looking at the M2 money supply. Which if you look at it now, inflation is about to get worse as the money supply is increasing yet again. Their pay is a reflection to the value they bring to the market. I work for amazon as well. Its crazy easy work. These are low skilled, low wage jobs. In a free market, their pay should reflect the value they bring.
1
the minimum wage is 0 dollars. If your labor is worth less than 7.25 an hour, no one will hire you.
1
@ComradeRagdoll You must now know history very well. Communism and socialism are responsible for mass starvation. When all the smart people leave, everything falls apart.
1
the united states is already going bankrupt from providing healthcare, you want them to expand? We are going into debt at a rate of 10 billion a day now and its mostly due to medicare, medicaid, va benefits and social security. These are all failed programs. You are paying for them through inflation because the govt just prints the money to pay for them. You could raise the taxes to 100% for the top earners and it wouldn't dent this.
1
destroying the US dollar by taking on unsustainable debt to artificially prop up the economy seems to be the policy currently. Not sure if its a good one.
