it sounds like they are understaffed and not able to keep up with the price changes that are occurring. I have the same problem in a local grocery store, Harris Teeter. I will now check with my app on my phone to make sure the price shown is accurate. Alot of the time, its not. This isn't just a dollar general thing, it happens all the time at walmart too.

what happens when the govt wastes all the money they took and the stock market collapses because there are no market makers. The largest investors in the stock market are public sector retirement plans. So, now teachers, police and utility workers now lose their pensions because you have wealth envy. Believe me, without folks like this, our entire way of life collapses.
1
I feel like most of these comments come from either Russia or China to try to stir division in the us.
1
these folks need to have a lease with their land lord. Everyone I have know in this arrangment has a month to month agreement with is insane. You have no leverage when the land lord wants to raise the rent. rent control is a terrible idea as well because then landlords will not be able to make a profit and therefore not able to maintain their properties and they will eventually turn into rubble.
1
because of the unions, GM and Ford make garbage cars.
1
@stephhdlg so benefits make up a ton of pay. This included health care, various insurance, time off, etc. I heard today what the actual cost is around $60 an hour and Tesla is $45 an hour.
1
you think these companies are stealing your money, wait until you join a union..
1
@ dues
1
I am pretty sure those doctor’s, nurses etc salaries are insanely high. If ever we become a single payer county welcome to a 50% pay cut.
1
@bartolomeothesatyr when the us nationalizes all healthcare, I am sure that won’t be a problem. All medical providers will be govt employees. They can make it illegal to practice medicine unless your a govt employee.
1
everyone wants more money because everyone else is getting more money. This is classic wage price spiral. We are headed to a dark depression if this crap doesn't end. One day, no one will buy US treasuries (already happening) and all the fake govt money will come to a quick end. It won't be long before everyone defaults on all their loans and then money will be essentially worthless at that point. All the unions in the world won't save you then.
1
i have stopped going to sit down restaurants because i don't want to tip the staff. Just make a restaurant like chipotle where I order something and walk up and get it myself.
1
so means test fuel?? Makes no sense.

Rent control only ensures that no one will invest in the community because there is no return on investment. The available rent pool dries up, people leave the city, buildings become dilapidated. Next they will make it illegal to turn down section 8. Total government take over of private property. This report is totally bogus. It is already back firing, read the recent wsj article, “Multifamily building permits in St. Paul have plummeted nearly 82% between November 2021 and January 2022 compared with the same period a year prior, according to data from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.”
1
@ what needs to be stopped?
1
@ that makes no sense. There will always be poor. You tax the rich enough they will just leave and go to another county.
1
@ if you raise taxes on the rich they just stop working or leave. So who are you raising taxes on, middle class folks?
1
Want to starve to death? Communism.
1
Rent control is a violation of the Takings Clause of the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution and reads as follows: “Nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.” Essentially, the govt is taking land lords property to gain votes. Its essentially a bribe. Thousands of rent controlled apartments sit empty in NY because the owner would lose money renting them out and maintaining the property.
1
@aklemmer8936 well minimum wage will be like $20 an hour but rent will be like $1500-$2000 a month for a studio. The new middle class income will be like $100k a year. Average house around $500k. The numbers don’t matter, value does. There is no value in money when you hand it out.
1
after 7 years doesn't this stuff disappear anyways? I feel like they are buying debt that is about to expire worthless as though its some amazing thing. Plus, are the debtors really going into each and every one of these creditors credit report and showing the debt as cancelled? I highly doubt it.
1
and yet, we are going into debt at a rate of billions a day to pay for health care that people say isn't enough. Imagine when the US cant borrow this much anymore and has to enter into massive austerity.
1
more money will not solve homelessness. Its nearly 100% drug addiction. This will only increase the cost of housing as it will get factored into peoples rent. We need a better class of politician.
1
marijuana makes people stupid and lazy. Especially kids. Look at Baltimore schools. You have whole classes that can't read or complete math at a proficient level. I bet you do drug tests on those kids and they are all smoking pot at home. Also, now that high concentrations of weed are available its making people psychotic. I have seen it first hand, people become paranoid and delusional.
1
@Bleilock1 my only addiction is carbohydrates. I used to work at a detox center and worked in that field for 15 years. Everything the media and govt is saying are lies or uninformed. Pot does make people stupid and lazy and in some cases psychotic.
1
i looked it up, i pay about the same per KWH in NC and my bill is like $200. These folks must have their AC's set to low or have massive houses.
1
I don’t remember seeing any of these people protesting the govt printing 7 trillion dollars and just handing it out. This is why there is inflation, not corporations. Look up the m2 money supply and this explains why everything is more expensive. Both parties blasted money into the market.
1
@biboebbs624 true 14% vs us 10%.
1
@frankd.506 I am a 1099 worker. I have 6 different jobs and if they don’t pay enough I don’t show up.
1
@frankd.506 everyone’s situation is different.
1
every review of the 2000 election found that Bush won using loose and strict stands. Going on about 2000 is just flat out lies. The founders of this nation created a system that did end slavery, which had been in practice since the beginning of time. Taking lives of children who haven't been born yet is one of the greatest evils this world has ever seen and is far worse than many of the great crimes against humanity. The socialist underpinnings of the democratic party will only drive away businesses etc. Why start a business if you cant fire people, the govt takes all your profit, etc.
1
@pewp_tickalar agreed, but rising wages is a metric the fed uses to determine if rate hikes are necessary. Also rising wages also might indicate a wage price spiral.
1
@Feralfoundry well, you know what they say “in capitalist countries sometimes you have bread lines, in socialist countries sometimes you have bread.” I feel like if a janitor was able to be paid that much for a low skill job, everyone would be a janitor and not learn any skills. I am a perfect example, I had a high skill, high stress job that paid well, I found I could make as much in a low skill job during the pandemic and I quit. I am still in the low skill job. Meanwhile, they can’t fill my old job.
1
@robert2690 I am a stay home voter. These people are both fools.
1
Yeah but these public schools are garbage. People are just going to stop paying their taxes at some point because the govt is wasting their money.
1
taxing the rich at 70-90%?? are you out of your mind. Maybe for a very short period of time, but anyone knows the rich would just stop working at that point. Look up the laffer curve, as taxes go up, people stop working.
1
@ShinyNix86 Unions destroy industries. If my starbucks unionizes, i will just go next door to the non-union place or make it at home. The owners will lose their shirt on the investment and fire everyone.
1
@MrMarinus18 unions do help to keep wages up in other countries because labor is too expensive here, companies just ship jobs overseas and lay off everyone here. Good point.
1
@MrMarinus18 believe me, when things go bad here, and they will, I am am going to leave and let everyone starve here.
1
I am sure they will love getting laid off as well.
1
i have learned if you leave stuff in your amazon save for later cart, the price goes down at times.
1
@joso7228 I deliver for Amazon so he is giving me money I guess. It seems to work, I left this tool that cost like $126 and left it in my cart for a few weeks. It went down to $99 one day.
1
@@pleist0cenic why, they have the best price a lot of the time and widest selection. I actually work for Amazon doing deliveries. Pay is pretty good.
1
actually, they take much less. If you consider insurnace, the take rate for my trips was 12% for the past month. You have to factor in insurnace costs which are substantial. I have 15k life time trips and drive full time.
1
i feel like the dems are going to lose alot of votes because they cannot confront the pro-hamas members of their group. When you have people celebrating the murder of babies and rape of women like AOC etc., it makes it really hard to vote for them. How hard is it to say nazi's are bad. Vote them out of office. I don't like trump but the world was a safer place with him as president. It is a sad thing to say, but the democrats have been an absolute disaster on every front their entire time in office.
1
@vurpo7080 fact: we spend like a 1/3 of all federal money on health care and its mostly borrowed money from china. We already spend too much on health care, you want the govt to spend more money? If china stops lending money to us, we are really screwed. If you tax the rich any more, they will just stop working. Fact: they are already rich they don't need to work.
1
@Matty__niice the only people who like socialized medicine in socialist countries are people who are healthy. When you hear the horror stories you realize how terrible things can get.
1
@notaperson9831 so you are ok with the US borrowing like a trillion dollars a year from china so poor people can have health care? At some point, all taxes will just go to pay the interest on the debt.
1
@electric6877 Hospitals are already run by workers. Some of the workers happen to be paid more because they have leveraged the value of their labor on an open free market.
1
@NeonNights80 govt handouts usually are. The average Medicare recipient only pays for 3 years of benefits and the rest is a burden on the tax payers. Classic ponzi.
