  10. can't work together, usa is determined to be the world hegemon, china will have equality, at least. but it's wrong to talk about nations, since most people play no role in decision. only the swiss, really. usa government is an adjunct of the rich and well-to-do people, who are used to running the world for their profit. they won't compromise until they see the muzzle of a gun. and they hire people to do that. prc is developing faster, is better integrated, and suspects they are smarter. we will be lucky to survive this struggle. i believe the best strategy for the ants is to gnaw at the foundations of usa wealth and power. at the very least, stop pretending usa is directed by any principle but greed and arrogance, supported by professional murderers and thugs.

  11. the 'government' of the usa used to be an administration- in the 30's and 40's they pretended to be a democracy to keep the plebs from revolution. but nixon thought that normal service should return and started saying government. he also tried out a palace guard uniform with roman helmets. didn't last long. made the cattle uneasy. face reality: usa is a commercial variety of fascism. prc will never be a democracy, any more than usa. but right now they are developing under a government that sees their welfare dependent on the support of the people. so, for the moment, they are the good guys, and usa the evil empire. no 'even-handed' about it, seriously evil.

  12. it is reassuring to note that evil nations can be easily identified by their activities. i hope the officers of the pacific island nations realise that 'gifts' of military 'oversight' is not only inappropriate, but maleficent. prc doesn't have many friends, and even if the pacific islands enter aid and development agreements, prc is not greatly strengthened. but if most, better all, of them turn their backs on the aukus vultures, it may signify that the tide is turning, and a few larger nations then are emboldened to join them.

  14. any discussion that uses the phrase 'american democracy' in a non-sardonic mode, is fundamentally flawed. the struggle between prc and usa is one between private direction of capital, and state direction. easily stated, but the situation is murkier than that. some usa wealth is used for public good. some prc wealth is mis-directed, or simply stolen. nonetheless, it appears that state direction is winning in a walk. so there is a certain amount of urgency in the usa response, perhaps even incipient fear. the constant propaganda of capitalist efficiency is exposed to visible opposite reality. not only are the two economies going in different directions, the myths which sustain plutocratic rule are being eroded. it is becoming a cultural war. i would like to think prc will win, it will improve chances of continuing survival of modern society, but clearly they are a long-shot. so is the survival of h. sap.

  15. the trade war is lost. so usg reverts to type, and threatens war. by itself it is a significant presence, but not overwhelming. so the plan seems to be, lure, buy or threaten support in sufficient size to frighten prc into submission. this will not work. actual war is suicidal. so prc will simply continue building roads and trade, and mutually advantageous treaties. 10 years from now, usa will split into 3 pieces, as gb has done, and become just innocuous 'usttabe grand' nations. or so i hope. the alternative is armageddon, quite a lively possibility. the orcs who run usa have no recent experience with successful resistance. to them, i urge that they give deep thought to the viet nam war. usa never lost a battle, but couldn't beat a people equipped with 2nd hand weapons and 1st class courage.

  28. well said, mr j. i stopped worrying about foreign affairs many years ago, i found that time could be saved by simply saying 'usa bad' and there was little to no loss of justice. if you had watched usa forces 'pacify' villages in vietnam, with frag bombs and napalm, you would have saved a lot of time classifying iraq and afghanistan as 'war-crime' as well.

  36. i'm not afraid of xjp. he is sane and competent, from what i can see. and china is advancing daily in wealth and power. he has no reason to rip up the world. biden is senile, was never very competent, and is merely the front man for the rulers of usa empire. presumably chosen because faction leaders could not tolerate the rule of any one from that group. biden is a danger, every time he opens his mouth. he may deviate from script at any moment. what china is going to do is increase pressure on taiwan commerce, constrict foreign relations, and aim to occupy in 5 years time. by then, usa will be weaker, taiwan people more inclined to re-join china. usa will use every means to hold on to empire, short of war. but they will threaten war, for lack of attractive policies. this creates a tight-rope for xjp and several others - putin has grasped the nettle of real war, and has demonstrated that usa only will fight with money. and the money is increasingly without value. the situation is complex, but i guess prc will prevail, in some sense, because underneath the guns and lies, usa has nothing to offer anymore. prc is fresh and vigorous, building infrastructure and commerce. they are the future, so long as usa doesn't blow-up the world.

  37. mr. jannsen, the flaws in usa society were built in, at birth. they cannot be changed without revolution. which is why i left 50 years ago, returning only briefly to bury my parents. when politics is a profession, it is done for personal profit. how could it be otherwise. result, inevitably, is polarization. built-in, at birth. there is no hope for the usa. there is fear that you will destroy the world, to preserve your hegemony. and i hear no voice from there able to extract the source of the decay now visible. there is total acceptance of the law and custom of the nation, and uncomprehending inability to relate social problems to legal structure.

  49. no one seems to understand that the usg does not do caring and sharing. discussions of the effects of 'soft power' are maybe not useless, but they are certainly not effective. the usg is a sociopathic organization intent on dominating the world. since the end of ww2 there has been little opposition, and usg has grown ever stronger, and more openly evil. talk about soft power all you want, can't hurt. may generate an income. but i've been watching the usg in action for more than 60 years, if there has been any soft power, it has failed to stem the arrogance and greed of the usa. prc is now strong enough to say 'no.' usg calls this 'aggressive.' so do a lot of people and governments who travel with the usg, looking for scraps. it's time for the soft power people to support the prc, for speaking softly to sociopaths is unproductive.
