  12. Yeah, the difference is, that the Polish Lithuanian commonwealth was an actual country, while the EU is not a country but an alliance of countries, and if it wouldnt have veto powers, then tomorrow the european majority could vote that for example Italy has to change its language to German.

So lets be logical for a moment, if chinese are indeed losing money on every single car they sell, wouldnt it be the logical move to buy as much as we can, and get their money out of their hands? They will eventually run out of it if they sell free candies all around, we dont have to wage a war to weaken them, and get products at a lowered price. So what is the problem? They have to obey European car standards if they want to export anything around here, so there cant be any quality issue.

  19.  @MrNetAble  The truth is EV tech is still crp. Everybody is waiting for the miraculous baterry tech to happen and it become competitive. But tech development doesnt work thatway. It is entirely possible the miraculous battery tech will come 100 years from now, noone can base policies on this BS.

  23. Actually it can help the climate, although its a rather indirect argument, that whoever han an EV wont use public transport, so his overall emissions will be actually higher. In my case I generally use a train to commute, and have an ICE car which I use maybe twice a week, if I would own an EV there wouldnt be a point to use the train, I would use the EV, because if I payed for it, then the electricity of what it use makes it cheaper than the public transport, and it will expire in 10 years, so theres no point not using it as much as you can.

  34.  @madapro03  It sounds to me that you just described an italian to me. They have more siesta, religious fests, and days off than anyone else in our European work culture. The other thing I noticed is that skilled workforce is actually moving into places where people genreally leave eachother alone, like San Francisco, and they are fleeing places where some rightwinger tells them how to live, like in Alabama.
