What has happened with West Bengal also happened to East Bengal prior to 1971. Economic exploitation of East Bengal by West Pakistan led to demand for autonomy of East Pakistan and eventually birth of Bangladesh. It is not only West Bengal but entire resources rich eastern India is suffering due to the exploitative and extractive policies of the central government in New Delhi ruled by political parties over which the eastern states have little to no influence. Development of eastern states will only happen when eastern states gain economic autonomy. Otherwise things are only going to get worse.

@rajivsarmah8413 Where are the mythological "kirats" today?? The Bhutias and Lepchas, the natives of Sikkim, Bhutan and Darjeeling have nothing in common with the Nepalis. The Nepalis did invade and occupy parts of Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Himachal for few years before the locals took the help of the British to kick out the Nepalis. Later on the British actively encouraged Nepali migration to Sikkim against the wishes of the King of Sikkim leading to Nepalis outstripping the indigenous Sikkimese. Nepalis tried same tactics in Bhutan for which Bhutan kicked out all Nepalis majority of whom settled in North Bengal. And from your surname it's clear you are not a Gorkha but a Madhesi whose land was gifted to Nepal by the British for Nepal's help in putting down the sepoy mutiny by sepoys from UP Bihar.

Those weren't only Japanese but INA troops who were fighting to liberate India . The British India Army basically consisted of Indian and foreign mercenary troops, traitors and collaborators of the British. If there was no INA, India would still be a dominion of the British which is what Gandhi so called father of the nation wanted and not real independence of India. You need to be asking why India continued with colonial Army, police, paramilitary which were created to subjugate India and Indians instead of INA and naval mutineers none of whom were employed in so called independent India Army and navy?

What is happening in the Adivasi belt aka Red Corridor is not a fight between leftist guerrillas and government but a fight between Adivasis and Dilli Durbar monopolized by non tribal political parties who look at these people with contempt and disdain. An upper caste BJP leader urinated on a tribal best symbolizes the feeling of those who rule India towards these people.

Question to Mr.Singh, what ability does "gooli maaro saalo ko" Anurag Thakur of BCCI and MoS of finance ministry found sleeping in Rajya Sabha during a speech by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman have??
5
@SG You forget from day one Pakistan was bankrupt. It was never financially viable. East Pakistan before the 1958 coup in Pakistan had a GDP higher than West Pakistan. From late 60s West Pakistan GDP surpassed that of the East due to reasons which led to 1971 and break up of Pakistan. Even as late as 1970, more than 70% of Pakistan's foreign exchange used to come from the jute export from East. So, we shouldn't be surprised at Bangladesh overtaking Pakistani economy as undivided Bengal used to be the richest province in Mughal India due to textile trade.

There will never be any peace in NE because it was for 600 years under Chinese and Burmese occupation prior to 1832 when East India Company liberated North East from Burma and returned to India but with majority Chinese and Burmese origin people who have never accepted themselves as Indians to this day. NE used to be a collection of Bengali kingdoms which were first invaded and occupied by Tai people from China followed by Burmese invasion from 1400 CE and eventual occupation till 1832 CE. This is the crux of never ending unrests and insurgencies in NE aided and supported both by China and Burma right from 1947. This part of Indian history is completely missing from our history books.

What was RSS role in independence of India??
5
Swarajya mag is pro RSS BJP.
5
Fun fact, sister ship of Moskva, is Ukrayina.
5
India is multi lingual where 2 official languages Hindi and English are both foreign. Way forward is language equality i.e. 22 recognized languages enjoying same status as English and Hindi.
5
Fact is, to speak to 2/3 non Hindi India, only English is going to work.

Much of the FDI is Adani's black money from Mauritius. Why Modani running away from JPC in Rafale deal and Adani?

@Snehesh Tanks were created to overcome challenges of trench warfare during WWI. Nearly all militaries are operating for 1st wave and 2nd wave battlefield. 1st wave is land armies consisting of foot soldiers, cavalry on horseback. 2nd wave is based on knowledge, intelligence and superior situational awareness. What's happening in Ukraine and has already happened in Armenia is dumb weapons being destroyed by smart weapons. AWACS, RC 135, drones, spy satellites have played a significant role in the decimation of Russian military in Ukraine. Future wars will be fought with unmanned drones and vehicles which can be swiftly deployed and extracted from the battlefield. Not giant lumbering behemoths which can be easily targeted and destroyed. What has happened to Russian tanks has also happened to Russian ships, fighters and helicopters. Our military generals need to read few books on change management like "Who Moved My Cheese". The environment has changed and they are still looking at things through old lenses.

There's no proof of Cholas reaching Jharkhand or north eastern Odisha let alone Bengal or South East Asia. South East Asia was Indic and had Gangetic Indo Aryan influence as can be made out from the culture, names and archeological evidences. Today's Indians whether Gujarati, Tamil or Bengali were never a sea faring people. We hardly have any archeological evidence to prove that people of the subcontinent traveled to foreign countries by ship. If that was true, evidence of trade through the sea routes would be present on foreign shores. Much of the trade and migration happened over land and not sea. It was the silk route which connected today's India in ancient times with rest of the world. Today's Indo Gangetic civilization spread from Afghanistan to Vietnam. But, the Deccan was a different civilization which became a part of today's India only after the Mughal invasion and occupation of the subcontinent. Please back up your claims with archeological and historical evidences.

Nature of wars depend on nature of economy and nature of technology. Majority of the militaries are still functioning as per the legacy of napoleonic armies of large number of foot soldiers. Those who go to modern battlefield with old philosophies and techniques will be decimated in war as we have seen in the recent past. The modern battlefield needs superior situational awareness where military personnel have to be well educated to handle various IT devices. The frontline troops will not be humans but unmanned vehicles and drones. In such scenario, a large army of semi literate foot soldiers acts as a major drawback rather than force multiplier.

Dynastic politics is not democracy but monarchy masquerading as democracy. Mr.Singh you are in favor of dynastic politics?? Is this your version of independent journalism?? I am not a BJP supporter, but on this matter I firmly support BJP.

@scienceisreligion5618 diversity doesn't leads to nationhood but conflicts as we are witnessing. India was created by East India Company by occupying several countries of South Asia which were already under foreign occupation for centuries. We have been artificially trying to create a nation on the basis of myths and mythology so that the empire created by the Mughals and British remains intact which will benefit few business houses profiteering under the British and political families supported by them to the detriment of rest of India. This is the reason why India and Indians are so appallingly poor even more than 70 years after the exit of the British, a bunch of armed merchants. Way forward is decentralisation and greater devolution of power to the states with bare minimum being handled centrally by representatives of every state instead of one political party monopolised by an individual or a family.
4
@scienceisreligion5618 we are all different people. So, why should education illegally and unconstitutionaly without the consent of the people put under the concurrent list during an illegal undemocratic emergency?? Did anyone take the consent of the masses through a referendum in this post British India consisting of 11 illegally occupied provinces of British India with 565 princely states many of whom are themselves of foreign origin?? Don't you think the bhoomiputras will start asking these questions?? Modi himself came to power on the promise of minimum government and maximum governance, competitive and cooperative federalism etc etc. What we have been seeing under his rule is less governance and more government and greater centralisation of power in a diverse subcontinent of a country like India.
4
@scienceisreligion5618 if Punjabis run Punjab, Biharis run Bihar, Tamils run Tamil Nadu, Malayalis run Kerala, Bengalis run Bengal etc then why do we need a central government run by a political party not representing Punjabis, Bengalis, Malayalis, Tamils, Jharkhandis etc etc?? Isn't this the biggest flaw in the current centralised form of government?? Isn't this form of government going to send more resources to the states it represents to the detriment of states which reject this political party and its ideology?? Equalization means looting one state to enrich politically powerful states. This ruse needs to end. States and not central government need to be responsible for the development and progress of the respective states.
4
@scienceisreligion5618 a party led by Gujaratis or by Hindi people, what inclusion will they do to people whom they don't represent?? Isn't this why so many regional leaders broke away from Congress and regional allies from BJP?? When Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab, UP, Gujarat, West Bengal etc can manage their own affairs far better on their own, why do we need a central government which acts like a third leg and drag states it doesn't represents actually back which is what Modi's double engine ka Sarkar means where central government either acts as a force multiplier for those whom it represents and a hurdle for those it doesn't represents. Enough of this three legged race. Time for states to sprint on their two legs.
4
@scienceisreligion5618 who is going to invade Tamil Nadu or UP Bihar?? India got invaded and occupied because of Mir Jafar and Jagat Seths in our midst who were helping the foreigners to invade and occupy what we call India today. Without help from India and Indians, so few foreigners could never conquer India.

BJP has expertise in kaala jadu tona.

Kashmir Files is akin to SSR's suicide. In both instances, a tragedy has been politicized for electoral reasons without any regard to the victims and their families.

Conventional submarines have little use against China. China has a massive geographical advantage over India. Han China, the heart of China is in the eastern coastal region well out of the reach of India's conventional weapons. But, Chinese conventional weapons can strike all across north India starting from J&K all the way to Arunachal Pradesh. To checkmate this enormous advantage, India needs at least a fleet of 15 SSGN, 5 SSBN and 10 nuclear attack submarines apart from a potent rocket force. For this we will have to shelve the 3rd aircraft carrier and conventional diesel electric submarines program which are good only against Pakistan and pretty much useless as offensive weapons against China.
4
There is no proof of Cholas invading south east Asia. The Tamils arrived in South East Asia only after the arrival of the British. South East Asia used to be Indic due to expansion of Indo Gangetic civilization into south east Asia. Everything in south east Asia is heavily Sanskritized and has cultural ties to Indo Gangetic belt not to Tamil Nadu which is very different in every way from the Indo Gangetic belt. If Tamils reached south east Asia then Gujarat, UP, Bihar, Bengal, Odisha, MP, Chhattisgarh too would have Tamil influence. We don't see anything of that sort in the north, west, east or central India.
4
@joyid ask yourself, how can ethnic Chinese or Burmese become "Indian tribal" when India is a Greek name of today's Pakistan?? This is what happens when history of a place is erased due to nefarious reasons.
4
Body language of the "youngest BJP state president" symbolises BJP's destiny in "khela hobe" Bengal. This man can't even speak properly and seems to be in a permanently sleep mode. How can BJP hope to win Bengal under the leadership of such people??
4
India as per the constitution is a union of states and not a nation state. The demand for reorganization of a state has to come from the state assembly. Otherwise it is nothing but invasion of one state by other state/states which control the central government through ruling political party. India was not supposed to be governed centrally by one political party but as a union of states where only currency, communication, defense and foreign affairs would be governed centrally. It was opposition to this plan by business houses profiteering under centralized rule and withdrawal of consent to this plan by Congress that led to the partition of India.
4
@arunsar7893 there's far more violent unionism in Haryana and Maharashtra than West Bengal. Recently shutting and removing OFB from Bengal, merging of United Bank with bankrupt PNB instead of Punjab and Sindh bank, similar fate with Kolkata headquartered Allahabad Bank are few of the recent examples of asset stripping . This has been happening since 1947 and gained momentum the moment Congress lost West Bengal. Similarly headquarters of major companies are being relocated from Mumbai to Gugaon and Noida after Maharashtra is on the wrong side of the political fence. Centralized rule from New Delhi is basically continuation of the exploitative and extractive legacy of the British rule. It is now time for states to run their own affairs. India was not supposed to be governed centrally as it consists of several kingdoms brought together by East India Company for exploitation. After 1947, it was increased by nearly 50% by merging British India with 565 princely states loyal to the British.
4
@helcurt2509 North Bengal is Bengal only and it can be a separate state only when local Bengalis demand for a new state and a resolution to this effect is moved by the state assembly. "Buddy" on the contrary time is up for Nepalis like you who have been taking things for granted for far too long. This is a very different India where bhoomiputras are asserting their rights and non natives will be shown their place.
4
@SG You are talking absolute rubbish and peddling downright lies. INSAS has the same firing mechanism of AK47, the most successful rifle in the world and features of FNFAL and Galil two more ultra successful rifles. This rilfe if it is used in +50 degrees Celsius to -50 degrees Celsius will develop cracks which were addressed eventually. Another excuse of our army is 5.56 round doesn't have stopping power. How is it then all NATO nations are sticking to 5.56 after moving away from the heavier 7.62 mm bullets to which the Indian army has regressed to? The heavier 7.62 enters and exits the body without much internal damage whereas the smaller 5.56 mm bullet tumbles inside the body causing massive internal damage. There is nothing wrong with INSAS. Every rifle has teething problems. If INSAS was such a terrible rifle, how did it pass the army's trials? Wrt to Arjun, during trials army was trying to sabotage the Arjun which is why DRDO had to put a black box like device. The Arjun is nothing but Indianized German Leopard, the most successful tank in the world. Similarly the imported air force used to change the specs of Tejas when the prototype used to near finalization thereby putting this fighter in perpetual development hell. Problem is not with DRDO DPSUs and their products but extreme corruption in our defense procurement where nothing can be procured without paying multimillion dollars bribes to netas, generals and babus. DPSUs cannot pay bribes. This is why DRDO products are being sold to armed forces by shady private companies without any competitive bidding process at overinflated prices. Since the CAG like rest of the institutions which uphold democracy has been compromised under this government it chooses to turn a blind eye to these gross violations of norms and policies. Which is why now the Modani sarkar wants to change the laws and policies of DRDO not by scientists but by the dalals of "industry" who don't even have one product of their own.

So many jealous people posting their hate comments here.

BJP's religious nationalism loses badly when it faces ethno linguistic nationalism. This we saw in Bihar, Bengal and now Karnataka. BJP is facing the same issue in Maharashtra where breaking up Shiv Sena only strengthened UT Shiv Sena which represents Marathi nationalism.
4
There was no Gujarat, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Bengal in medieval times. There was also no India as a nation state prior to arrival of East India Company. The merchants of today's Gujarat in medieval times had little to no connect with today's Tamil Nadu or Bengal. Today's Gujarat only came into existence in 1950s with merger of few parts of Bombay presidency with several independent kingdoms whose subjects always considered themselves as a separate nation distinct from other people of the subcontinent.
4
@roflkohli2853 Separatism is growing in South because of political marginalization and consequently lesser resource allocation from the central government even after South contributing the most to the national exchequer. Along with south, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha, Kashmir, Punjab, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and NE are also either restive or showing signs of disenchantment with the central government.
4
Sorry Guptaji, nation doesn't wants meager resources to go to activities which do not create wealth or development. Defense is a pure expenditure. When more than 70% of the defense budget only consists of pension, medical, salaries, and cost for fuel, something is very wrong with this budget. Indian military particularly army needs massive restructuring which hasn't happened since the British left India.
4
I don't know about his views on Islam, but what he spoke about Sargent Major Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi of South African British Army is 100% correct. He has been arrested because of his utterances against Sargent Major M.K.Gandhi and not because of his tirade against Islam and Muslims.
4
Foreign minister needs to answer why no foreign investors are investing in India instead of rise of startups in which the government has zero role and contribution? This government has been a failure at every front.
4
"Joy Bangla" is a war cry of Bengali nationalists all over the world and not limited to Bangladesh. You hear Joy Bangla in the streets of Bengal. BJP is desperately trying to make Joy Bangla limited to Bangladesh freedom struggle.
4
@himanshujha807 That killing of unarmed civilians and unprovoked attack on East Pakistan Regiment and paramilitary forces by West Pakistan army led to the civil war followed by independence of Bangladesh. Massacre is one sided. If it was a massacre like what happened to the jews there wouldn't be any Bangladesh. The soil of Bengal is a land of rebels who don't like foreign occupation which is why maximum resistance to British occupation of India came from Bengal.
4
There's no evidence of ancient Dravidian people settling in South East Asia. The Indic civilization across South East Asia is Indo Aryan not Dravidian. People from the south of India settled across South East Asia when the British took them there to work in their plantations. This is how today, countries like Singapore and Malaysia have a large Tamil population.
4
The natives of North East were Bengalis. This king didn't adopt Bengali because he loved Bengali culture but because the natives of Tripura, Kamrupa aka Assam, Manipur were Bengalis What you have said is a lie propagated by the government to hide the Chinese and Burmese origin of these rulers and mongoloid people of the north east who have never considered themselves as Indians. This ruler you are talking about is of Sino Burmese origin and not Indian. You need to do more research and not perpetuate lies and myths cooked up to pass off people of foreign origin as sons of the soil. This is a grave injustice to the real sons of the soil. Hiding the history of north east is the root cause why north east is never at peace.
4
Why so late to report on muck on Adani?
4
Tank was created to overcome the limitations of trench warfare in an era where wars were largely fought with artillery and foot soldiers. Today's battlefield anything that is large and slow no matter how well armored will get destroyed. Instead of tanks, Indian military needs to focus on extremely long range version of HIMARS type rockets and S500 type systems with range exceeding 1000 kms. Drones and loitering munitions are one of the biggest threat in the battlefield. Therefore India needs to work on advanced directed energy weapons which can take down swarms of drones and loitering munitions.
4
Guptaji, Bangalore, Mumbai & Pune, Gurugram & Faridabad skew the real picture of states like Karnataka, Maharashtra and Haryana. Remove these cities and then you will get the real picture.
4
@libshastra vote her out and replace with what papoo, fekoo?? Lol
4
@ritajaray3504 Maneckshaw had no plans. When Indira Gandhi asked him to attack Pakistan he said India will lose the war and therefore he is willing to resign. If the Bengalis didn't fight a 9 months long civil war, there would be no Bangladesh. India entered only in the last 13 days of a 9 months long civil war.
4
The idea of opposition unity under one face is fallacious. Opposition consists of different political parties representing different people and regions of the nation which is its biggest strength. BJP has only Modi, whereas opposition has more than 10 leaders who are far taller and popular than Modi in their state. BJP and godi media will try to make it a Modi vs who which is really a non issue as people of Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Kerala, West Bengal, Maharashtra and even UP Bihar don't give vote looking at the face of one individual but what and who represents them and their ideology and interests better. People voted Modi in 2014 not because of his face but because of his Gujarat model of development. Last 9 years instead of Gujarat model the nation has witnessed and been experiencing Godhra model of divide and rule.
4
@Shaurya_Pant I am an Indian. I am referring to the utterances of topmost BJP leaders and general anti Bangladeshi sentiment across India.
