That's an interesting one that I have not heard. The obvious question that comes to mind is what causes an universe to fold in on itself instead of stretching out.

You need some oxytocin
1
It's animal instinct. It's not calculated human cruelty. That's the big difference.

lol

You can call me what you like, but I deal with the cold hard facts. they dropped the bomb. It's not the place of the US to occupy these countries, it's in their self-interest that they do so. And If you think US foreign relations goes to war in the interest of oppressed women overseas...I don't know what to say other than you're naive as hell. US politicians don't care about their own citizens, son, why would they care about far away oppressed women. Get real.

Maybe we're not forgetting how to listen. Maybe we just reached the peak of human intelligence and we are now on a intellectual decline. Or another possibility could be that because there's some much horse shit being handed down through the government and media that as a defense mechanism, the human brain responsible for attention is being deactivated.

People don't realize how hard this is if you don't own a yoyo

That's deep man. This is probably deep too, and highly speculative, but I've always had this feeling that when we dream at night, we're consciously observing our counterparts from other dimensions.

@1989Gez1989 I didn't get as confused. The 8 legs kept throwing me off.
1
What's even more amazing than this talk is that Bill Gates gets some pussy.

Levers for movement doesn't quick click for some reason. Movement by spinning a wheel just feels more natural. Sorry, but I think this idea is doomed to fail.

@ruckenfigur I'm quoting a very well known physicist. I agree with his quote to certain extent though I don't fully share his cynicism. Biologically speaking, yes, we're fundamentally a swarm of chemical reactions on the face of a planet. The speaker is a reductionist, speaks in absolutes and he's annoying as are most reductionists that assume things are very cut and dry. But the thing is, we don't know anything. UFOs, ghosts, souls, etc may or may not be real. No one knows.

If theories of the universe were the size of a grain of salt, I could fill countless salt shakers. Nobody has a finger on it, not the church, not science, not the government, nobody. I'll tell you what though, if you view the universe thru your own personal filter and extrapolate your own theory, it makes you that much more authentic. I hadn't heard of Douglas Adams though. I like his theory. I firmly believe that the universe is stranger than you CAN suppose.

OH, BTW, inside job

Well, I guess that's where our opinions diverge.

@kasooie To spread a message (basically everything the translator spoke of)

why yes, he is.

If you look at the world around you and really pay attention to what's going on I don't think it's surprising to see so many depressed human beings.

*hugs*

Just a hunch.

Yea, his talk was realistic, but you know what the reality is? That too many people are not willing to make a sacrifice. We don't need to wait for a miracle to end the CO2 problem. We can sacrifice our materialistic lifestyles right now and it will be the death of CO2, but are you willing to give up your car? Are you going to stop buying useless junk that you can't afford? If everyone on earth agreed right now to go back to a nomadic lifestyle, our problem will be solved. But fat chance.

The universe is an engine for the generation of complexity. It preserves complexity, and it builds on complexity to ever higher levels. We are the cutting edge of a 13 billion year old process of defining complexity upon complexity. Our purpose, to add to the complexity. Our enemy, disorder, entropy, stupidity and tastelessness. The hardest thing to imagine is human history going on for hundreds and hundreds of more years.

He has a handsome mustache

Becoming a spokesperson for HIV/AIDS is like walking on broken glass. Takes much courage. Bravo Annie!

Good observation.

@HamsterPants522 Nuts have protein. If you take raw nuts and soak them for 24 hours, they germinate, release enzymes so they're easily digestable and leave behind very little metabolic waste. I'm not going to judge, because I used to eat meat as well, but I'm just not into eating things with a head, eyes and limbs anymore, just ain't my thing. Especially cooked meat because it putrefies in the GI tract, which leads to a lot of the illnesses that we experience nowadays.

I don't know what kind of car this guy drives, buy my keys don't move around.

@EATshitanddrinkbleac Right man, by society I mean the people in it. This generation pretty much sucks. THere's nothing going on. I feel sorry for anyone who's at partying age. Shits weak.
1
You're right, toxification, disease, war, famine, bonehead politics, the obliteration of rain forests, you know the list...who cares about all of that. Humans are prospering on the planet. lol. But why don't you go cry to Tom Shadyac, he directed the documentary where that quote came from. You're a lot smarter than all of us, maybe you can teach him a lesson.

Works for me. Cya.

I wouldn't kill for Air Jordans, but then again I'm not religious.

I still don't get the 3d printer deal. Why do we want to make 3d plastic models again?

Can you speak two ranguages?

Oh, brilliant answer. Did you forget that the web is still in a process of creation? Do you know what it will look like in 50 years? Does the "inventor" know? Perhaps the inventor can take credit for that vision as well. pfft. This isn't sliced bread we're talking about is it? Knock knock, anybody home?

The automobile is an extension of your feet, clothing an extension of your skin, glasses an extension of your eyes, the internet an extension of your nervous system. ~Marshall McLuhan

I'm pretty sure it stands for Topless Entertainment District.

Nice talk- In the future we've got to keep science in the hands of real explorers. As long as the government controls science, it's science run amuk

That's perfect after a long day of indoctrination.

@SuperAtheist I like the video. I'm just saying that Sony allows copyrighted content to be uploaded if they can monetize it. That's how they benefit. But there are hundreds of videos on Youtube that Sony doesn't want to share. It's all about the money not about spreading Joy- IMO I'm not saying it's wrong or right- it is what it is. Greed bro. That's what happens when deal with a big label. I'm sure the artists could care less who uploads their videos.

Exploring the bottom of the ocean is far more interesting and beneficial to humanity than space exploration.
