I agree. I happen to think all these indexes and stuff are biased towards the west, if not intentionally than because the criteria are chosen through a western view. The most obvious example of this is the HDI which among other things measures years of education while it doesn't matter the return of that education. That being said in an eastern country like India or Pakistan u don't need as many years of education to have the same opportunities or job prospects because there is less competition for qualified jobs. Assuming Indians and Pakistanis are not dumb y would they have a 20 year education to become say an engineer when they can become an engineer with say a 10 year education. In my opinion this is an obvious example of bias and u just see that comparing to Georgia or Estonia the US is not free at all and yet it's 17th place

Y didn't all the other countries join the list? Like Serbia, Romania, Hungary, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, etc. Sure some aren't exactly the freest economies on earth but they're free I mean they're not communist and taxes are often lower when compared to most western countries

I do agree with u on Bulgaria, not the best place to live because Sofia is a little boring and the coastal cities are a little small for my liking. That said I prefer its neighbor Romania since the capital is a lot more interesting. Unfortunately it's a country that doesn't get much cover on the channel.

@hthought I personally don't think I would live there. Sure it's great for business tho, if u wanna incorporate there that's up to u, but I don't think it's a good place to live

@hthought Sophia looks boring. If anything I would rather live in the coastal cities like Varna or Burgas but I think they're a big small. Good for a vacation home tho, in my opinion better than Montenegro where Andrew has a summer home, I prefer the black sea. Said that if u wanna live in Eastern Europe there are so many better options in my opinion, even if u wanna make it your tax residence, there are so many tax friendly options in the region
1
@hthought yes there are many other options. In fact every eastern European friendly is tax friendly with the exceptions of Croatia, Slovenia and Turkey if u consider Turkey as part of Europe
1
@hthought Greece has lump sum taxation. About all the other countries u mentioned, I said they were the exception
1
@hthought besides u keep talking about taxes and burocracy. If you're looking for a place to live they're not important. Romania has a flat tax too and that's irrelevant, living there doesn't mean u pay taxes there
1
@hthought wrong, 10% flat tax
1
@hthought u should look it up
1
@hthought income tax is 10%, I'm right, u just proved that
1
@hthought I literally said the income tax was 10%. All the others u mentioned u don't have to pay. Social security for example u only pay if u are employed or employ others in the country. U shouldn't keep your eggs in one basket therefore u wouldn't be doing that either way
1
@hthought u don't have to employ in the country u incorporate not to incorporate in the country u live in. U live in the best place to live, incorporate in the best place to incorporate and hire in the best place to hire. Usually those places aren't the same
1
@hthought sure. Still I think there are better options
