  2. I think it all comes down to the entrepreneural culture. A lot people start business which need financing which creates high demand for that field and hence a lot of funds and investment banks who have high demand workers. What I'm trying to say is finance jobs in the US are a lot more well paid than in Europe for a similar cost of living. In the US while u can make close to or even above 100k out of college those numbers are almost unachievable in Europe for anyone in the field. I think that comes from higher demand of financing which comes from more people starting businesses. Which makes sense I mean people were coming to the US to make money while people in Europe still had virtually no mobility due to the aristocrat system. So I guess that shapes culture, Americans are culturally more likely to take risks and start business, the first risk being getting on a ship to foreign land. U can see that influence in the banking system, getting loan in Europe is much harder. That said it's not the place that makes millionaires, it's culture and ultimately individual choice. U can see that by taking a look at the countries with more billionaires per capita
