  1.  @nelisezpasce  I lean liberal and I can tell you. Most of us liberals don't 2 shits about making LOTR more diverse. We have better things to care about. Tolkien based his fantasy on northern European and Old English myth, so just go ahead and make all the characters white. I don't care about the virtue signaling b.s. of putting a black guy in a Beowulf film or whatever. It's ridiculous!

  3. Kylo Ren would be easily assassinated by stronger villains due to his weaknesses if the new Star Wars films were more down to Earth so to speak.

And don't get me started on how the sequels ruined the unique power of the Death Star by giving regular ships Death Star capabilities. Those movies were not great for so many reasons.

  6. All the Vulcans are too emotional in the new Trek films. Spock is bullied as a kid for being half Vulcan in one of the films. And I noticed the bullies displayed too much emotion. Not to mention the fact that bullying itself is usually motivated by emotion and not reason. The new movies make no sense. The thing that bugs me the most is that those inconsistencies are things most fans of the new Star Trek don't seem to notice or care about. It's almost like the writers of the movies said: Let the Vulcans be as emotional and illogical as humans while claiming not to be. Just make them a hypocrite species. It's fine.

  7. On a side note, I like The Orville. It's good as a comedy and the main messages in the show are serious, regardless of the comedic elements.

  9. Zoomers don't even remember the '90s! Why feel nostalgic for a decade where they were either in diapers or not born yet? As a '90s kid I remember Saturday morning cartoons, Fox Kids, Disney afternoon, Super Nintendo, old computers, R.L. Stine books, snacks like P.B. Crisps and Dunkaroos, playing outside on playground equipment that might not be considered safe by overprotective parents today, and renting video tapes from video rental stores. Gen Z remembers none of this, so why do they like something they never experienced?

  11. The reviews should have been brutally honest. Want to see a dumbed down, ridiculous, over the top version of Star Trek? One where Spock is no longer logical or reasonable and Captain Kirk was a juvenile delinquent?

  15. @Jake Imagine all the good aspiring writers and directors that didn't get the job but JJ Abrams did. Hollywood is terrible at being able to see actual potential in people. Their talent scouts suck at being talent scouts!!!

  17. I don't know about the write part. Real writers actually get screwed pretty badly in Hollywood. They get stiffed on the pay and their scripts get changed by glorified middle men who only care about marketing. The scripts actually get stupider after Hollywood gets through doctoring them and that's why half the movies today are dumbed down.

  25. The newer Star Trek movies are childish and written for people with short attention spans. I tried to watch 2009 Star Trek but had to stop after Captain Kirk as a kid drove a stolen rot rod off a cliff and then acted cocky in front of a robot police officer. We can all relate to that movies version of Captain Kirk growing up, right? I used to steal cars all the time. 😄 I was like, "OK. That's enough overthetop Hollywood rubbish for me. I'm done." It's so bad. 🤦‍♂️ So I only got through 30 minutes or so of 2009 Star Trek.

  26. I didn't think The Hobbit trilogy was that bad even though it was way drawn out and had parts that were never in the book. This show on the other hand is a travesty!

  31. South Park has always interested me. No matter how old I get some of the stupid immature literal toilet humor like Mr. Hankey the Christmas poo still makes me laugh. I especially like how Mr. Hankey kept getting Kyle into trouble. That's the funniest thing I ever saw on TV.

  39. And Michael Bay kind of ruined Transformers too. If I see that a film was directed by either JJ Abrams OR Michael Bay I usually won't watch them. I haven't seen any of Bay's Ninja Turtles films.

As socially liberal and diverse as these shows are, I've noticed none of them are fiscally liberal since they were created by rich snobs who like not paying their fair share of the taxes. None of them are like "You know. Rich people have too much power and create too many problems. Maybe Karl Marx was right!" A line like that would be a good way to get the dumb show cancelled. Diversity and gay scenes are OK but criticizing the wealthy goes too far.
