When people want to move out of a crappy apartment and into a house but can't because home prices are ridiculous and increasing price of rent is holding them down and they're worried about becoming homeless if they try to buy anything that isn't a basic necessity, those are third world conditions. Unfortunately retired and soon to be retired people don't care much about the current deterioration of the middle class because they got what they wanted.

That level of hypocrisy bugs the crap outta me! If I met a conservative who thought compassion was a weakness I'd come out and say it, "Are you saying Jesus Christ the compassionate was weak? Is that what you're saying? You think our Lord and Savior is a sissy? That's blasphemy!" Then I'd wait for their reply. I'm pretty sure there would be a long pause because they wouldn't even know what to say to that. That's kind of a gotcha reply to them.
