  1. So what if everyone had been tested every week from day 1? It's a virus; you can't contain it. People tried to contain the plague during the middle ages and it still got through. They even shut the gates to their towns and rich people self-isolated in their manors in the countryside. It still got through. If the government built concentration camps for everyone who tested positive for covid, they still couldn't contain it.

  8. Something very odd is going on. Putin offered to negotiate yesterday, and Ukraine refused. Why would they outright refuse? They're grabbing men off the street and literally dragging them off to force them to fight, but the government refuses to negotiate? Madness.

  23. That's no joke. My town built a posh new middle school 30 years ago. A couple of years ago, they decided that they had to build a brand new posh middle school even though the first building is only 30 years old and our population has gone down, not up. So the first building is now sitting empty and going to ruin.

  24. I said at the beginning, laws regulating gun safety on movie sets are different from gun safety generally. Actors have NEVER been prosecuted in these cases, ever, because the legal burden is on the armorer, the gun safety expert on the set. Something else to think about: part of the lawsuit settlement with the husband was that he got a job as producer on the movie. Now that's twisted. He doesn't exactly strike me as all broken up when he wants to be a producer on the movie where his wife was killed.

It takes energy to truck items, it takes energy for businesses to keep the lights on, etc. etc. So everything we buy gets more expensive at the same time that running a household and getting to work gets more expensive. We're getting squeezed from all sides.

Tim Russert testified that Libby had told him in a short phone conversation a year before. Like you're supposed to remember word for word everything you say in every phone conversation you've ever had. Libby denied it, but the jury believed, without any proof, Tim Russert instead.
