@doginu Keep dreaming. If the situation is so great for Russia's economy then why are you Russian's complaining about them? You should be asking for more. If the USSR could not compete with the West economically and militarily, how on earth can Russia even begin to? The USSR had around 20% of global GDP annually. Russia is less than 2% and falling. The US and its allies have about 50-60% of global GDP. Keep cheering. But what you are supporting will bring about the collapse of the Russian Federation. It is inevitable now.
3
They are already in Ukraine.
3
@nelayanpejuang4194 No-one can use nukes. It's mutually assured destruction. If it happened, you will be dead along with everyone else on the planet. Russia and China cannot win a conventional war. The are both heavily out-gunned.
3
Ukraine has not technically agreed to join NATO. It's application was refused and there was no possibility of it happening in the foreseeable future. Ukraine will fight until the Russians leave, however long that takes.
3
Serbia makes Kosovars who enter Serbia change their number plates. If it's ok for Serbia to do it, it's ok for Kosovo to do it. Once the Serbs started shooting at Kosovo officials they should have been arrested and jailed. The rule of Kosovo law must apply.
3
@monishboro8648 I know. Ukraine also does not want conflict with Russia. But here we are.
2
@monishboro8648 That's like saying India does want conflict with China because you refuse to give China the territory that they claim is theirs. Have you stopped, even for a moment, to ask yourself why all the former Warsaw Pact countries joined NATO? Answer: because they had suffered under Russian occupation and oppression for 50 years or more. They are terrified of Russia. Who are you or anyone else to try to force countries to live under Russian rules and occupation? The citizens of Ukraine have the right to choose who they wish to associate with.
2
Ukraine is being invaded by Russia. It's Putin that needs to call the cease-fire. Stop Russia's war crimes immediately.
2
They're not going to like the find out phase.
2
How will Russia gas get to India and China? The infrastructure does not exist for this to happen. The solution is to go hard on economic sanctions and even a complete trade embargo to cripple Russia. The faster it happens the sooner it will end.
2
@cccc2740 To defend its members against Russian aggression. Now we can see just how important it is. This is the fourth war of expansion Russia has started just this millennium. I thought Modi said "The age of expansion is over." So why no criticism?
2
@Shogun507 It is hypocrisy. You can check the definition in the dictionary if you need to. India has close relations with Russia and I don't expect that to change any time soon. But the US has close relations with the UK, France and many other countries. Yet despite these good relations, disagreements occur and we can criticise each other. The relationships still endure. It would be a good thing for both Russia and India if Modi did criticise Russia. Putin might listen to a trusted ally. Modi would get kudos from the West. The parties may come to negotiate a peace settlement sooner, with less loss of life. And Russia and India would continue to be close allies just as they are now. A good friend can tell you when you are doing something wrong. That is what friends do.
2
make a wish Mike Baker does not represent NATO. Show me the treaty. Otherwise, put a sock in it.
2
make a wish There is no point in reading it. There is no formal treaty to that effect. Another poster had also debunked it. Give up already.
2
Taiwan needs to get some nukes. That is the only sure deterrent against Chinese aggression.
2
The EU is asking China not to help Russia avoid the sanctions. The sanctions do not cover all oil and gas exports or all trade. They are limited. Does that help you?
2
Lend lease starts on October 1. Six months after that, ask the same question. Your beloved war criminals in Russia will be begging for peace.
2
@SeanWinters You're wrong. Have a closer look at other nations political systems and you will quickly see that multiple parties horse trading over divisive issues often leads to a solution. The US political system can't cope with the issues the nation faces. It's tearing your country apart.
2
More Russian lies! You Russia cannot say a word of truth. There is no provision in the Budapest Memorandum requiring Ukrainian neutrality.
2
@lokisg3 The CCP will have enough problems dealing with their own population over the next few years. Why not focus on becoming a better neighbour rather than threatening all the time?
2
@IIOO Are you saying muhammed is God?
2
@pDdsqggcfg Have you thought about it? Serbian dominated Yugoslavia had already invaded Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and were killing Kosovars. They had already killed at least 100,000 people before military intervention to stop them. Do not try to make out as if they were victims. Their entire leadership ended up being convicted of war crimes.
2
They should start getting nukes as fast as they can.
2
NATO's weakness will only embolden Putin further. His aggression will not stop here. Imagine being so weak they don't even have the guts to ban Russia from SWIFT. Disgraceful.
2
Yes. Can someone with a deep understanding of tech create a list of alternatives to US operating systems, software, social media, search engines, AI etc.
2
Who is Vance to tell Europe what to do? The US is quickly becoming an international pariah.
2
The sheer stupidity of this comment is beyond belief.
2
@UC6sJNdN6P8RvlE90Jsd2ImQ That headline does not say they were going to nuke Russia. It seems to suggest arming Ukraine against the threat posed by Russia. Given what has just happened, maybe they were right?
2
If the declaration is meant to criticise Russia, then why not specifically name them? I agree with Ukraine, the declaration in many parts makes it seem like borh parties are equally guilty for the war. But the fact us that Russia invaded Ukraine and is wholly responsible for the war. Facts matter, right?
2
Lies. NATO intervened because Serbia was perpetrating genocide on the Kosovars. Serbia has only itself to blame.
2
@Anonymous Bosch More lies. Mladic and Karadzic are both convicted war criminals. Milosevic was on trial for war crimes and the case against him was iron clad, but he died before a verdict was reached. Hundreds/thousands of Serbs participated in both the siege of Sarajevo and the massacre at Srebrenica. These were war crimes and the perpetrators are still walking around free in Serbia and the Serbian part of Bosnia. Those are the facts. Indisputable and irrefutable.
2
@MatejzKosic But I do agree on this point. Poland has been fantastic in this crisis and is emerging as a major power in Europe. We'll done Poland.
2
@doginu It's not just US GDP it's Europe, Japan, Australia, Singapore etc. Those combined economies are 25 times larger than Russia. You may have also noticed that China is not helping. And India just wants some cheap oil. As for your claim that Russian weapons are better, that is absolutely laughable. I have seen Western military equipment pitted against Russian since the 6 day war and the result is always the same: Russian equipment gets totally destroyed because it is vastly inferior. It has happened so many times that the only countries that buy Russian military equipment are those who can't get Western gear or who are allies or who are too poor to buy the best quality. But believe whatever you want. It's your delusion and you're welcome to keep it.
2
The Western countries that they are increasingly hostile towards are their primary export markets. When their customers get tired of the vitriol and stop buying, then these 5 countries will be shitting BRICS.
2
@milomilo417 In 2013 Russia's GDP was $2.2 trillion. After the sanctions imposed after Russia invaded South East Ukraine in 2014 their GDP is now $1.65 trillion. The next round of sanctions and banning Russia from SWIFT will destroy them over the next few years. Once the full impact of the sanctions are felt Putin will be overthrown by his own people and handed over to the Hague to face charges for war crimes. Just like Milosevic.
2
@ezwansafri8006 It's of far less strategic or economic value than Kyiv, Kharkiv and Kherson, that's for sure. Yet Russia was forced to withdraw from all of these.
2
Russia crossed the red line in Feb. '22. Since then they have consistently escalated. The West and Ukraine have a free hand to do whatever the need in defending Ukraine.
2
Ukraine is being resupplied with advanced western weapons. Russia already lost 35-40 Battalion Tactical Groups even before the new weapons arrived to help Ukraine. This is now a war of attrition and Russia cannot win such a war. Putin is a dead man walking.
1
Serbian Nationalism dismemberment Yugoslavia. Learn some history before you comment.
1
As Trump is a convicted felon, when will he finally be treated like a criminal? When will we see him in handcuffs being hauled off to prison, where he belongs?
1
@jerrypeukert5732 But Putin's already got Trump and Lukashenko up his ring.
1
At the moment the West if funding China's military by all the junk that we buy from them in the same way as Europe funded Russia's military by their energy dependence on Russia. The solution is to stop outsourcing our manufacturing to China. We can manufacture in the West or outsource some of it to other countries that are not going to wage war against us in the near future. Failure to act now will cost us big in the near future. We can claim hindsight to excuse Europe's failure with Russia, but knowing what we know now there can be no excuses for repeating the same mistake with China.
1
@СергейМонин-д7с Yes, it's all in your imagination. It didn't happen.
1
The West is 50 times stronger than Russia. Kosovo is an independent country due to Serbia waging genocide on them. Suck it up. Serbia is surrounded by NATO countries and will intervene to defend Kosovo.
1
Apparently not even one NATO weapons shipment has been attacked by Russia so far. They fear it being seen to be a direct attack on NATO. All those weapons are getting through.
1
Putin has made clear what his ambitions are. In a nutshell, he wants all the former Soviet Republics to be under his control. So Poland, Czech, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and the Baltic states. He seems as clear about his goals as a certain former artist born in Austria was back in the day. How well did appeasement work that time?
1
Russia invaded Ukraine. That is clearly against international law and the UN Charter. Now Russia is going to get destroyed militarily and economically.
1
@kristofferlaw6991 The ignorance of the Russian trolls stands out when they champion the rise of the ruble. They never get or admit that their currency is being heavily manipulated. It's not a free market currency and until it is, it's true/market value cannot be determined. Russia will collapse just as the USSR did. But it will only happen after years of sanctions and after Sweden and Finland join NATO and all of Europe raises their military spending as per their recent statements. Once the NATO troops are increased and in position on Russia's borders their military spending will have to at least double or treble to keep up with NATO. They will manage it until oil price tank. As oil prices are cyclical, that is as sure to happen as night follows day. And when it does, it's check mate for Russia.
1
That is one of the stupidest quotes I have ever seen. There is no evidence that Europe has that mindset. But it seems to impress people with little knowledge and poor education.
1
@Sibaram143multi Another one with no original thoughts and just regurgitating mindless drivel. Try and think for yourself next time
